Since social networks are all about being social, the visualizations on Twitter and Facebook are a unique opportunity to acknowledge your friends and followers to show your appreciation of them for being part and parcel of your social networks. It's also a means to communicate to others just how active you are in the social media space. Numbers are one thing, but what is it that we say about "one picture being worth a thousand words."

Thanks for this report. Interesting how Nintendo is making the game bigger. And amazing how popular the whole brain training genre has become!

But some of the newer brain training programs are based on exceptionally good research, like this one over at Mind Sparke. Brain Fitness Pro

Does Your House Plant Move When Tickled?

In reply to Air Filter and Houseplant Have Baby: Andrea Air Filter Is It A Great Holiday Gift Idea?:

Here is another unique( not high tech) affordable Gift that I give to my friends, family and students who enjoy plants, nature or gardening. –A TickleMe Plant!
Ever see a plant move when you tickle it? The TickleMe Plant grows year round indoors, closes its leaves and lowers its branches when it is tickled. It is an easy flowering plant to grow in its own TickleMe Plant Greenhouse. When I first saw it move I was startled and amazed. You’ll love seeing the big smile on the face of the person who sees the plant move for the first time!
Visit http://www.ticklemeplant.com for more information and videos of the live plant. Most products are under twenty dollars.

If you understand how the money changes hands between developers, ad networks, mobile carriers, and affiliates, you'll see that all parties are guilty. That was the point of my article on TechCrunch-- the system is flawed by design. If games are "free", everyone is going to have to make money somehow. Zynga is definitely not guilt-free by Mark's own admission.

According to me the bicycle with equal sized wheels was called the safety bike when it was introduced. The large wheeled bike with small trailing wheel was abandoned completely and instantly. It no longer took an acrobat to stay upright injuries were vastly reduced when people were able to actually control them for the first time.

My wife says that, "It's about time!"

Now all we need is a practical washing, drying and folding robot and all will be right with the world. The only other laundry problem of course being that vortex that eats only one, of a pair of sox during the dry cycle.

Indeed, the Human Genome

Indeed, the Human Genome Project lead to the initiation of the Genome Recruitment Project. I can only hope it wouldnt' be taken to that level - I can see some potential benefits in job placement - say, if they could isolate genes that distinguish whether someone's a leader or a follower, so it would work not as discrimination, but help make sure people are placed into the right jobs. If it's only used to assess general personality and skills - as any job interviewer does it could work. But anything beyond that, I'm with you!

leapfrog?

In reply to Is Leapfish, Search's Missing Link? :

That video was over-the-top. Maybe the company should be called "leapfrog", albeit the sentiment around leapfish seems to be on the edge today http://feeltiptop.com/leapfish/
Cheers,
Looks Animated but TickleMe Plant is very real - Cool Gift Idea

Here is something great I found at Disney Land tour.
The TickleMe Plant, It's a real plant that suddenly closes it's leaves and lowers its branches when Tickled, This is real, yet so animated you won't believe your eyes. You can see the video and grow your own at
@reply vs a person's name

The point is one should be able to search a person's name as well as @reply. It's a simple function missing in Leapfish!

Ron Callari is a freelance journalist and editorial cartoonist. His slighlty off-center published work includes trends, social media, politics, travel, humor and political articles.

Follow Ron on the InventorSpot and Twitter.

I was hoping that movie was only so much science fiction. Just what the world needs, a new way to discriminate. "Sorry, you can't work. You have inferior genes" While NOT a fan of too much government intrusion in our lives, I'd say this concept should be outlawed and fast.
