Major Phil Packer survived a rocket attack in Basra, and after being told he would never walk again, he went on to complete the 2009 London Marathon, raising over £1 million pound for Help for Heroes. Michael Johnson self taught running style defied the coaching manuals and he became peerless. But before the 1992 Olympics, he picked up a virus and failed to reach the final. In Atlanta however, he came back to show the world his true form, cruising to gold in the 200m and 400m in the golden spikes for which he was famed.

The date for next year's Annual Convention is set - Wednesday 28 April. The Royal Albert Hall is booked and we are awaiting confirmation from some high profile speakers.
