Chris Pine to write, produce, and star in “Mantivities”

Star Trek’s Chris Pine has set up a comedy he wrote–with five of his friends–at Waterstone Entertainment. Mantivities is about a group of friends in their thirties who band together to help one of them mature. In addition to starring in the movie, Pine will be sharing producing responsibilities with Waterstone heads Jeff Kalligheri and Stephen Bowen.

Scott Z. Burns to write sequel to “Rise of Planet of the Apes”

Scott Z. Burns, the writer behind last year’s Contagion, has been tapped by Twentieth Century Fox to pen the script for the Rise of the Planet of the Apes Sequel. The original film, which was a reboot in itself, was released released last year and grossed over $480 million worldwide.
