Hey guys, throwing a quick update your way from the lab.

We’ve been working really hard on Mixr and we can’t wait to show you guys our progress. We’ve put together a quick teaser video that gives you a sample of what we’ve been working on. We won’t commit to any release dates yet(rushing this would only see all the things you guys wanted left out.) We appreciate your super zen-like DJ patience as we perfect Mixr.

It’s almost ready guys, we’ll keep you posted.

Salutations! We know you are patiently awaiting for Mixr. We wanted to give you a status update, especially since Apple released iOS 4.2 this week. The entire team has been working super hard on making Mixr the best DJ app on the planet. We released Mixr to a small set of beta testers in mid October. We have been working hard on adding and enhancing features based on beta feedback. We are close to opening up Mixr to a much larger Beta test group. We are very excited about what we are producing with Mixr.

Our passion and excitement around Mixr is amplified because of the fans. We all know you have been patiently awaiting. We are here to tell you that the wait will be worth it. We are all about polishing Mixr and making it the best DJ experience on the iPad, period. We will post another update soon when we are ready to launch the second level Beta program. We would like to add, that we have a large list of users who like to Beta test, but we have limited number of slots for beta testing. We apologize to those we can not get the Beta to, but we appreciate your willingness to help make Mixr an amazing product.

To become a beta tester for Mixr, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Must be a musician/professional DJ we can verify through links or samples of your sets/works OR a reviewer/writer of a well known and respected blog/publication.
2. Must have an iOS developer account with access to iOS 5 beta for iPad.
3. Gotta love music!

If your interested and meet the requirements, drop us a message on our contact page with a subject line of “Beta Tester Request” and a brief message on why you’d like to become apart of the beta program along with your iPad UDID. If you don’t meet the requirements, you can still help us by filling out our DJ Survey. Thank you for patience and support guys!

We’re making progress and currently under major development. We were recently contacted by the mothership. They are interesting in seeing a beta and know the release of iOS4 for iPad is required for core features like iTunes library access. While development is still being made, we need to throughly test for performance on a physical device with iOS4 before we can release. It’s only been 4 months since the release of the iPad, and we want to make the best DJ app for it. We need iOS4 for iPad to do this. We are working with what we have, and can’t stress how much we appreciate your patience. We’ll keep you posted, Thank you for your support.

Introduction
We are very happy to announce WWDC was a success! New announcements coming and we’re thrilled to have been fortunate enough to attend. We’ve spent the entire week learning and working on implementing the new iOS4 features and API’s. We’re really excited to be working on some great new features.

Time is of the essence.
There is a great amount of pressure on us to rush the app and release it. We will not do this. We’re too passionate about releasing a product that meets professional standards. The beta will have to meet a high standard as well. We ask everyone to please, continue to be patient, and email us if you have any questions or concerns. We care about all our followers and want to thank you all for your support. Remember nothing is easy, and as challenging as this app is, we’re promise it will be released! It’s going to take time. We are working towards a beta release this fall. So keep your comments and suggestions coming, we’ll do our best to push out more updates. Thank you!

Vision & Passion with iOS4
We’re very passionate about staying on track with our original vision. We’re working on our development roadmap and will be pushing back our original release date. With all the great new iOS4 features, we’re working extra hard to create a solid platform, and this takes time. We can’t stress enough how hard we’re working on this.

WWDC Summary

We had the pleasure to meet tons of great individuals, here’s Louie Mantia, recent Pixel Pirate hire at Apple. Louie offered Noe a wonderful one-on-one UI discussion. Very happy to report we’ve taken considerations his suggestions already implemented them into the new UI.

We’re excited to announce we’ll be attending this years Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. That’s right folks we’re going to WWDC 2010! We’ll be attending sessions, special events, and mingle with other developers. So if your attending, be on look out for the guys wearing Mixr swag. So Listen Up!
Read carefully guys, and please understand. We know the suspense is killing you but we can’t do this tomorrow or right away! We’re working vigorously to meet our projected released date on June WWDC 2010 and we’d love to do a contest then. So we ask that you please please please, patiently wait until then. We’ll definitely be posting details and updates before then, so keep your eyes and ears peeled!

These are our top four features we’d really like to see on the new iPad OS. Hopefully these feature requests can be implemented in future OS updates.

Editable Music Track Info
Now that we have something closer to a laptop, why not have the ability to edit your music track info. For example, as simple as delete music or edit a playlist.
We can edit contacts why not music, remember; some people produce their own content. Wouldn’t it be great if you could drag song or videos in and out of playlists just on the desktop?

iPod control popup still doesn’t have scrubbing
Given the larger real-estate of the device, I really wished it had the ability to scrub through songs while finishing up some work, without having to jump into the player to fast forword a track.

iTunes Visualizer
There is now a big enough screen and processing power. Have a nice visualizer like iTunes on the desktop would be a lot better then the missing album art.

Video Trimming
On the iPhone you can trim your video clips. We were a bit surprised if not disappointed to find out iPad OS does not have this feature. Our first initial thoughts was they left this out because users iPad does not have a camera. Even though, we’d really like to see this feature come back, such a large device certainly needs this feature.

As we get further into the development, we’re coming across many challenges. Today we want to share with you what a sneak peak of how Mixr will handle audio files.

We originally wanted to create a separate desktop application to manage files from iTunes to the iPad. With the new SDK, we’re now able to share files much like the iWork apps for the iPad. We plan to create a sub folders and playlists right within iTunes to synth your audio files seamlessly to the iPad.

We’re also able to save documents back out, so we’re able to make changes to the files, and even create new files (i.e. Recording mixes, saving changes to modified tracks, etc). We will provide more information once have further progress, until then thank you for all the support!

So much anticipation on Saturday! Tracking our UPS deliveries almost seemed useless but we finally received ours. Here is our unboxing video comparing the iPad to a 12′ Macbook, and a Cintiq 12′ Wacom Tablet.

Now that we have iPad in our hands… Lots of changes and improvements in the UI on the way! No mo printing out hundreds of mockups!
