Since childhood I have been a fan of the Transformers TV Series.  And to have it in a game form is like the icing on the cake, to actually be able to become the powerful Autobots. Transfomers is a very simple strategy based game to play and it will remind you of when you were kids, especially if you were a fan of Transformers too.
There are 17 levels in the story mode of the game which is without a doubt full of action. You gain 1 Energon every turn and more with every power plant you claim.
All 23 characters are present from the original series: the Autobots; Optimus Prime(the leader),  Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Ironhide also the evil lot of Decepticons; Megatron (leader), Starcasm, Soundwave and Frenzy, with which each of them specializing in their own weaponary, strengths and weaknesses. You can choose your team from Decepticons or Autobots, not that anyone wants to be a Decepticon :/

The character can be converted into a vehicle for faster movements. The graphics are good and you can choose music to play from your library while the game is on. Challenge friends is also an option which is worth checking out.

I wish Megan Fox was also a part of the game just like the movie but jokes apart, this is a great game and truly worth the $2.99 tag ( the price was higher before) Or try the free app of the game perhaps.

Paypal has come out with their app for the iPhone and its called the “PayPal 2.0″.  Also theres this novel idea called ‘bump phones’. In other words, money can be transferred between two iPhones just by merely knocking them together. Once you ‘bump’ your iPhone with your buddy you can transfer , or receive money via the paypal app, within few seconds. (please check compatibilty of the two iPhones).

Another neat feature is the ‘Split Check’ feature for dividing and reimbursing a restaurant tab among upto 20 people. ‘Collect Money’ feature let’s you round up funds from a social group.

Paypal app makes it faster and easier to send money to friends and family from anywhere and anytime. And all the other standard features like check balance, withdraw funds, request money; with the same security and protection that you are used to on their website.
You will need to create a paypal account from their website paypal.com itself to access the app.

Bharti Airtel has finally confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Apple Inc to sell the 3GS in India. Fans are waiting since last August to get hands on the iPhone 3GS officially, however even as the iPad goes on sale in US, there was no official news for the 3GS in India until today.

While Airtel has confirmed that iPhone would come to India for sure, but “when” still remains a big  question mark. The Airtel announcement puts last weeks rumor of Reliance, Aircel, Vodafone coming with the 3GS in India to doubt. We now wonder if even Vodafone would feature the 3GS again.

For anyone looking to buy the 3GS now, the obvious question would be the iPhone 4G. Its expected to be unveiled in late June and that would leave a deep sense of regret for the late adopters of the 3GS. However I am excited about a possible discount on the iPhone 3G pricing, that would make it more affordable in India. IMO a cheaper iPhone has more potential in India than the high end 3GS (which would also sell nevertheless).

The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple is working hard to get the right content in place before the iPad goes to the customers on 3rd April. After the initial demonstration in January by Apple, there has been no official word from Cupertino on what kind of magazines, books, newspapers and video tie-ups we can look forward to.

The WiFi version of the Apple iPad hits the US markets on 3rd April with rumors of 120,000 pre-orders on day 1 of the bookings itself. Apple sure has the momentum to show to the publishers what a huge market  potential the iPad can create and convince them just in time for the launch.

While Apple has got ample of ebooks lined up for their readers with the help of Barnes & Nobles’ Nook. Also tieups with various newspapers shouldn’t be much of a problem too. A mini crisis has arisen for their video categories where it seems that many of the TV companies are unsure about the revenue scale that they can generate via the iPad. At the same time they are pretty much concerned as to how their revenue stream from other traditional sources like cable and satellite companies might get affected. Meanwhile Apple is toying with the idea of dropping subscription prices to $0.99 from the $ 1.99-2.99 charged on the iTunes store.

Also one of the most important factor that has been bugging the media companies is the lack of support for Adobe Systems Flash technology which is used by almost all the existing market publishers for their media content and advertisers for their ads. It is to be seen that how effective Apple is in convincing the  media companies to ditch Flash and twiddle their content and customise it for the iPad, which might eventually be the key to the iPad’s success.

Foursquare is termed as the next big thing after Twitter. The application called Bedometer can calculate calories burned during each sexual encounter by calculating its time and intensity. The iPhone is put on the bed with the application running to calculate raunchy activity using the phone’s accelerometer.

Livvy Thompson comments “The results have been amazing. My boyfriend can’t get enough of it…Our initial tests show that a vigorous workout for 15 minutes burns almost 200 calories each,” The application is available on AppStore for $0.99.

Steve Jobs has put media houses / publishers in a catch 22 situation with no support for Adobe Flash on the iPhone / iPad platform. Now now matter who is right in this stand off between Apple and Adobe, millions of websites using Adobe Flash are affected.

The iMac 21.5" at our office

Its no news that the desktop market is falling badly to the notebooks and netbooks (take some contribution for smartphones aswell), but the savior for the desktop industry seems to be the Apple iMac. It is reported that the iMac would account for 25% of desktop growth in 2010. With less than 10% of computing market with desktops now, the iMac is making inroads in a dead market with amazing products. Using the iMac 21.5″ for the first time since last week, I am more than just impressed with this thing.

Apple has also benefited immensely with the success of the iMac -

During its most recent quarter ended December, the Cupertino-based company continued to ride on the new iMacs’ momentum, reporting a 57% rise in desktop sales sequentially, which translated into a 70% jump year-over-year. Mashable.com is a Web 2.0 and Social Media News site which is supposed to be the largest news blog, that has now come out with their iPhone / itouch application which directly covers all news articles from their main website Mashable.com
The app is user- friendly and easy to use. There are sections just like the website for social media, mobile, entertainment, tech and apple; while the main screen showcases the latest news and trending topics.

You can share any story via email, Twitter and Facebook or read the story later through Imsapaper(enable it in settings).

I use mashable.com daily to read and share interesting topics with my followers on Twitter , I am glad the Twitter sharing option is available via Tweet Deck (or any other Twitter app that you have signed in with) and automatically shortens the url, so all you are left to do is press ‘enter’.
If you are frequent visitor on their website, after using this app I  bet the iPhone users wont feel the need of visiting them via any other medium.

One app that can give It all. Appzilla features 50+ applications for the price of 1. Appzilla includes important utilities like calculator, clock,  unit converter, dictionary, tip calculator, 50,000 famous quotes, trip wire, book lamp, bubble level, ruler and many more. Commonly used apps are a part of this app. The only multi-purpose app that I have come across yet. The app are all a part of the household usage that we can in time find very handy.

Appzilla had all in one place rather than spread out on different apps, which is the best feature , for the price of one app. I used to have one app of each of these utilities on my iPhone like torh and tip calculator; now I have all of them in one place. Hope to see more utilities added on this in newer versions
