Morphing Booth contains a database of over 1,500 photos. When a mother and father is selected, the app uses the coloring and features of the mother and father to determine the closest baby match in the database. It does not pull up a true morphed version of the two of you…and trust me, I’ve seen apps that do that and it can be pretty scary.

The app is fun and entertaining, and if you don’t get the lighting on the picture right the result can be rather shocking. For devices that do not have a camera, the app will still work using the database pictures or pictures loaded into the picture library. Once the future child is ‘created’ you can save it and share with friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, and via email.

You don’t have to just log future events, you can also log things such as quit smoking date, started xx diet, and things like that. The app will tell you how long you have not smoked in a beautiful and customized way. I’m planning on using mine for future book release dates. My calendars are getting clogged with all of them and I like the idea of keeping them all in Countdown+.

When creating your event, you can create your own custom icon or use one of the 40 presents in the app. Even choose your own image for the event presentation countdown. Create and assign custom tags so that you can keep all of your events nicely organized.

Some may not see the usefulness of this app, and if you’re one of them, move on. If you like to track special events in a beautiful and stylish way this app is for you. I love the idea of having all of the special events I look forward to in this app and watching the countdown.

A few reviews have been concerned about the inability to delete events once created. Although there is no specific button to delete the item, when you are viewing your item list, simply swipe towards the left and the delete button comes up. This is a little tip you should keep in mind for other apps as well!

This app is not an ebook, but more a video book. Listen the professional photographer offer her tips while showing you examples with real subjects. She shows you the difference between using the tips and not using the tips. Amazing some of the visual differences you see in the “right” and “wrong” demonstrations. Along with each video is a subtext that you can also read if you aren’t interested in watching -although, it is not word for word.

Pro Photography Secrets is composed of 13 different videos as well as a quiz section so that you can see what you’ve learned by watching the videos. I have to say, the tips are useful, but some of the subjects in the videos reminds me of 80′s in fashion and style. Maybe it’s just me, but that is what I saw when looking at some of the videos.

If you can get by the 80′s fashion, and could use some great photographer tips definitely check out Pro Photography Secrets in the App Store.

Tiny Puzzle combines a jigsaw puzzle and a slider puzzle into a unique new game that actually uses the accelerometer to move the puzzle pieces into place.  You start off with one of their auto generate pictures or even a picture of your own and you start moving the iPhone around until all the pieces slide into place and form the picture.

The idea of this game is a lot better then the execution.  I found myself just shaking the iPhone repeatedly until the picture was formed.  Less skill is required vs just the ability to shake until done.  I would equate this to a button masher game where skill is removed and repetition is inserted.

This is not to say the game is not entertaining and the technology behind it could definitely improve the game play as further updates are included.

At this point I’d give the game a solid 2 stars and maybe even through in a third just because it got me through a boring 10 minute run of commercials during my favorite TV show.

• Notification Center

I’m certainly not alone thinking that the current iOS notification system is already very outdated.  It really gets in the way when using the iPhone or iPad.  The new notification is going to be a huge improvement both from an in use perspective but also from the lock screen having each notification listed and allowing you to go directly from lock screen to responding to the notification with one swipe.

• Camera

The current camera in the iPhone is good, but it could be so much better.  The fact that I have to unlock the phone, click on the camera app, wait for it to load then take a picture can be to late when trying to capture a moment.  The ability to get directly to the camera app from the lock screen is going to make taking pictures so much better with the iPhone.  I’d love to see that button be set to third party camera apps if I want but I won’t hold my breath.

• AirPlay Mirroring for iPad 2

This is definitely a luxury feature but one I’m excited about non the less.  Having my screen mirrored on my big screen tv to be able to easily show off pictures, play movies or just do a presentation will be very cool.

• Wi-Fi Sync

Backing up my phone and getting the latest updates all while not having to plug it into my computer definitly puts this feature on my top five.

• Split Keyboard for the iPad

This may seem strange to have on my top 5 list of iOS 5 features but typing on the iPad is a struggle.  I like to use my thumbs to type, much like I do with the iPhone, so having the split keyboard is going to be awesome.

That is my top 5 iOS 5 features.  What are you most looking forward to with the new update?

First off the Wakemate requires two parts a bracelet and an iphone/ipad app.

The product itself is a soft bracelet with an elastic strap to accommodate almost any size wrist.  Having used it for the last few nights I can tell you that once it’s on you barely notice it.  The Wakemate itself contains a small electronic component that is tucked into the soft bracelet – this is what records all of your sleep activity.

The second part, the app, is what documents the data and functions as the actual alarm when it’s time to wake up.

What I really liked was the analytical data that app provides. It records when you fall asleep, how much you move during the night, deep sleep vs light sleep and it gives you a “sleep score”. Making things a game with a score makes me want to improve especially when I can see scores of other people via a leader board.

One improvement I’d like to see in future iterations is the ability to include the alarm directly into the bracelet. If it could simply vibrate this could be  helpful in that smooth transition between sleep and awake.

The app itself is really well done.  After you upload your picture it intregrates the picture you took and the video clip of Hope Dworaczyk rating you.  In other words it makes it seem like she’s actually looking at your pictures and giving you her honest feedback.

If seeing Playmate of the Year Hope Dworaczyk in various stages of undress and wearing sexy outfits while rating pictures is your thing, then this app is more then worth the $.99 price tag.
