For whatever reason that you’re unhappy with iOS 7, you probably want to downgrade back to the older iOS 6.

Unfortunately, if you are on the public release of iOS 7, you can no longer downgrade to iOS 6 at this point in time.

This is due to Apple stopping the signing of iOS 6 installs, disallowing people to downgrade without iTunes producing an error message saying that you can’t.

It’s really common and expected of Apple to stop their users from downgrading to a later software version after a new release of an iOS.

Hopefully a technique emerges that allows us to bypass Apple’s restrictions, so keep checking back here for updates!

Also as a reminder, if you have attempted to downgrade from iOS 7 to iOS 6 and iTunes pops up with an error, you can just restore you device back to iOS 7 to get everything back and running again.
