Right after the successful launch of the Metro Manila Traffic Navigator, I was already so looking forward for the official iOS version. I’m glad that it’s finally here! The application is called InterAksyon.

News5 definitely created an all-around app and it does look very good too!

Twictures

I use Twitter a lot. Sometimes, I find it a bit annoying having to click links just to be able to view pictures or videos. So I was really glad when I discovered Sherwin’s newest iOS application, Twictures.

Twictures is a great way to view images and videos in Twitter. The application shows the pictures and videos in a clean and presentable interface. We can easily reply, retweet and tag them as favorite. We can also use Twictures to share our own images or videos in Twitter. It’s very easy and there are even effects embedded in the application wherein we can edit our images before sharing to everyone in our Twitter timeline!

Ice cream+ is a cute application that lets us run our imagination. We can create our very own ice cream with all the ingredients available in the application. We can either create a sundae, a cone or anything at all. For me, it’s a way to exercise our creativity. Will you be able to come up with a yummy looking ice cream?

Ice cream+ has tons of ways and selections for us to create our perfect ice cream:

What I like in this application is we can also save our favorite creations. We can always refer back to it through the ‘My Ice Creams’ menu.

I’m one of those who doesn’t know how to do post processing in photos. Especially with photos taken by my iPhone, it’s not really of high resolution. So I was glad that there are applications like CamWow that makes our photos look beautiful.

CamWow has tons of effects that are applied directly in our camera real-time. We can choose which ones we like to save.

The only thing that I don’t like in this application is the watermark of CamWow in every picture that we save. We can opt not to have the watermark but we have to upgrade to the PRO version by paying $1.99.

Talking Tom Cat 2

Talking Tom Cat 2 is a fun application that features Tom, a cat that responds to our touch. Tom also repeats everything that we say using his very cute voice.

This application is one of my favorite applications in my iPhone. It’s just fun poking him or seeing him being pestered by Ben (his neighbor dog). What’s really cool is that we can even record videos of Tom! And all that features in the application is totally free! We can also opt to remove the ads with a certain fee but I’m more than okay with this free version of Talking Tom Cat 2.

Here’s how you can play with Talking Tom Cat 2:

Talk to Tom and he will repeat everything you say with a funny voice.
Pet Tom’s belly or head and make him purr.
Poke his head, belly or feet.
Slap Tom’s face left and right.
Pull or touch his tail.
Press the fart button to see Ben fart and Tom grab his nose in disgust. After that, Tom repeats what you say with his nose closed for a while.
Press the bag button to make Ben pop a paper bag and scare Tom. It’s hilarious.
Press the phone button to make Tom play with the original Talking Tom app and repeat after himself in a funny loop.
Press the feathers button to see Ben hit Tom with a pillow.
Record videos of Tom and share them on YouTube, Facebook or send them by email or SMS.

Shake & Break

Shake & Break is an application that aims to give a breaking glass effect on your iPhone. It hopes that we use the application to prank our friends that our phones have a broken screen.

Here’s how it works:

Take a screenshot of your iPhone home screen.
open Shake & Break application.
tap ‘Use Custom Background’.
select the screenshot you’ve taken earlier.
shake your iPhone.

You’ll see a crack in the screen. However, I don’t think this application works as how can you prank your friends if the crack doesn’t look genuine? It looked like sprained black ink.

Another reason why I don’t think it’s believable is the ads are there. The developer however did mention that they’ll be updating the application without any ads. Let’s see. For now, I don’t think this is worth downloading.

Milk The Cow

Milk the Cow is a game to test how fast you can fill up the pail with the cow’s milk. All we need to do is to drag the cow’s part so he/she can secrete the milk.

The game counts how much time you complete a pail. You can then compare your scores with other players of Milk the Cow through the Game Center.

Honestly, it’s not an iPhone game that I’ll be going back with. It’s going to be fun for the first two tries and showing friends this entertaining game but that’s it.

Milk the Cow is purely for entertainment purposes.

Reaction Challenge Lite

Reaction Challenge Lite is a game for 2 people. It will test which one of you has the ability to react faster.

It’s a good way to challenge your friends in an entertaining game. What a better way to check how you react to things, right? It’s a very simple game and can be a good activity to do while you and your friend are together.

Here’s how it works:

When you open Reaction Challenge Lite, you’ll see two buttons.
Assign one button for yourself and another for your friend.
touch any of the buttons to start the game.
the buttons will become red when the game starts.
once the button turns green, you and your friend will have to race to be the first one to touch the button.
the quickest one to push the button wins a point.

You can play like a best of 5 or you can just play as many times as you want. You can always reset your scores too. Reaction Challenge Lite is a very simple game but it’s an enjoyable one.

Wake-up Lite

Wake-up Lite is an application that helps us start our day with great energy.

This is how the application works:

Set the alarm in Wake-up Lite.
Keep the application running in order for it to work.
Put your iPhone beside you. Best if put on a dock.
The wake-up light starts producing light 30 minutes before your alarm time.
The light will then brighten stronger as it nears your wake-up time.
A tone will then play when it’s time to wake up.

Wake-Up Lite aims to gives us the feeling that we usually have on a bright summer morning. According to the application’s official description: “When the light falls on your eyes it sends a signal to your brain to increase the production of cortisone which is also referred to as the energy hormone”.

The application will work best if you sleep with the lights off.

Pico Guitar Tuner

I’ve been wanting to learn how to play the guitar for the longest time. I even bought a guitar when I visited Cebu a few months back. Unfortunately, after almost 10 years, I still haven’t learned how to use it. I plan to study seriously in the next 2 years.

I know tuning the guitar is one vital activity that guitarists do. We have to make sure that whenever we play a note in the guitar, it has to produce the right sound. That’s where guitar tuners come in.

Luckily, we have an iPhone application for that.

Pico Guitar Tuner serves as reference for 6 different notes:

To use the application, all we need to do is tap the button of the note we want to tune. It will then play repeatedly until we tap it again or select another note.
