Learn To Share PDFs Right From The iBooks App

If you have found a book that you think would appeal to one of your friends, iBooks offers a simple way to send them a link to the book that they can use to buy it. Also, if you use iBooks to save PDFs, you can print them or send them to a friend by email in just a few steps:

How to distribute a book to a friend from the iBooks app:

- Open the iBooks app from the home screen of your iOS device;

- In the Library section, click on the book cover you want to distribute;

- Now click the Contents icon represented by three parallel lines at the top of the page (right next to the library);

- In the page that displays the contents of the book, click on the Share button from the top right of the screen;

- Choose how you want to distribute the book by clicking on the application icon. The options are E-mail, SMS/iMessage, Twitter, Facebook and copy link to attach it to another place;

- If you chose one of the first four options, then there will be a preview of your message. For your email and SMS/iMessage you will need to enter your address, or email/phone number. Tap the Send/Post button to send it.

How to print or send via email a PDF from the iBooks app:

- Open the iBooks app from the home screen of your iOS device;

- From the PDF collection click on the PDF cover that you want to send or print;

- At the top of the page, click on the Share button;

- Select E-mail or Print, depending on your preference;

- If you select E-mail, the PDF will be inserted directly into an email. Enter your email address and click Send to send the PDF.

Apple Web OS – An iPhone Theme Inspired By Apple’s Website

I do not know how many of you would have wanted when using your iPhone to have in your face a similar interface with the Apple website, but a theme called Web OS Apple aims to give you that experience. The theme is built on implemented tiles in Windows Phone, faithfully mimics Apple’s website and the most interesting part is that it can be customized by us. There are 54 tiles around the topic, many automatically generated for various applications, the native applications interface is modified and the LockScreen has a different “face”.

Inspired by Apple.com, Apple Web OS is the cleanest light theme around. Everything is fully customizable so you can have the theme set up exactly how you want it. There are 54 pre-made tiles that you can select from for each page, along with auto-generated tiles from your own apps, to ensure everything is themed 100%. A WinterBoard lockscreen is also included; install Lockscreen Clock Hide from Cydia for the full effect.

The theme is of course dedicated to only those who really admire Apple’s online store interface and would not mind to see it constantly in their main display, so do not test if you are thinking differently. Apple Web OS is available in the ModMyi repo of Cydia.

How to Change the Keyboard Color, Form of the Letters and Make the Keyboard Vibrate

Sometimes, the size of the letters bothers us as well as its color, if you want to change them, make sure you have:

- An idevice (preferably iPhone).

- WLAN.

- Jailbreak done, doesn’t matter on what Firmware.

Step I:

Connect to a WLAN and start the Cydia app.

Step II:

After you start the application go to “Manage-> Sources-> Edit-> Add”.

Step III:

Add Source: “http://repo.insanelyi.com” and wait for it to load.

Step IV:

Go to the search section and type: “COLOR KEYBOARD” after you find the tweek for changing the color and shapes, install it and respring your iPhone.

Step V:

After the respring, start the Cydia app again and go to search section where you will write “Haptic” and is the first package from the top, install it and give a respring (vibration hack).

Step VI:

Go to the Settings app and look for where it says “HapticPro”, open it and make sure all are on, you can adjust the vibration intensity from the “Duration” bar (I prefer a quite small one).

Step VII:

Log in to Color Keyboard application also from the settings menu, make sure it is opened, from the “color” select the one you want, now on the “shape” you can pull that bar and can therefore round the letters as much as you want.

SemiRestore Allow Us To Re-restore Our iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

Basically if you have an iPhone 3GS/4/4S/5 an iPad 2/3/4/Mini or iPod Touch, you have iOS 5.0 – iOS 6.1.2 and have already jailbroken your terminal, then you could do a partial re-restore only on the version that you have in your terminal without using SHSH. iPhones that doesn’t have jailbreak cannot use SemiRestore, doesn’t matter what version of iOS have, and if your terminal is not included in the aforementioned boundaries, then the solution will not work under any circumstances, so do not bother to ask.

Okay, you are “qualified” to do the restore, now you are probably wondering what is happening. Well Semi Restore procedure removes almost all from your device: applications from the App Store and the information in them, plus most of the Cydia tweak, except application Cydia, iFile and jailbreak. Basically SemiRestore doesn’t make a full restore, does not erase all the data, lets some of them, but before using the solution it is advisable to make a backup of all data because you will have to copy them back to the terminal.

Semi Restore is presented as a safe solution to make a partial restore, you will not actually reinstall your operating system, you will not change any baseband/etc, and as soon as it is available I will explain the method by which you can effectively make a partial restore.

Facebook Chat is a messaging system developed by the Facebook Company for its social network users, and through it you can chat with any of your friends quickly. Facebook provides us a suite of applications from where we can use Facebook Chat, but on Macs there is a dedicated application. Those who still want to access the chat using an application, they can configure the Messages application offered by Apple since OS X Mountain Lion.

Everything starts from the assumption that you already have an iMessage/Yahoo account set in Messages app, otherwise you need to connect using one.

Open the Messages application and access the Preferences menu.

Select the Account tab and click the + button from the left bottom of the window.

Next to Account Type select Jabber. In the Account Name enter username@chat.facebook.com (username is referring to your facebook user name, one that appears in the URL after facebook.com/), then enter the password.

Select the Server Options and in the right of the Server enter chat.facebook.com. For the port input the value of 5222 and press Done.

If you followed the steps correctly, then the application should be displayed to all your friends who are online chatting at the moment.

How Can You Disable In-App Purchases on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

So no one, not even you, will be able to buy stuff from games through the “in-app purchase” system.

Smartphones Sales In The First Quarter: Android vs iOS

IDC released smartphones deliveries figures from the first quarter of this year, they gave the domination to Android platform, but also the iOS leap on the second position of the stack.

In the first three months of this year, Android phone manufacturers shipped 162.1 million pieces, an increase of nearly 80 percent over the same period last year, when they were delivered to 90 million pieces. These figures place first among Android smartphone software platforms, with a market share of 75 percent landslide. A year ago, Android was only 59.1 percent of sales.

Apple’s sales increased to 37.4 million units, marking a jump of 6 percent compared to the same period last year. iPhones ranks second place with a market share of 17 percent, but losing market share compared to the first quarter of last year, they represented nearly a quarter of the sales.

Windows Phone platform managed to get to the third place, displacing BlackBerry products. In the first three months of this year, Microsoft operating system run on 7 million of new terminals, representing 3.2 percent of the market, while BlackBerry has managed to sell only 6.3 million units and settle for four. A year ago, Microsoft had a market share of only two percent, while BlackBerry ranked third with 6.4 percent.

On the free fall is the defunct Symbian platform, which reached a market share of 0.6 percent from the 6.8 percent recorded a year ago, while various Linux platforms are also down slightly.

iTunes 11.0.3 Was Released by Apple – See Its Features

During this evening Apple released iTunes 11.0.3, a new version of which iTunes Store can be accessed and through it you can manage multimedia content. The new version brings a new MiniPlayer application for listening to favorite songs, it displays the album artwork and the running tracks progress. Apple also improves the menus in which we see the available tracks from iTunes and implemented support for multi-disc albums.

The new version of iTunes can be downloaded via the OS X and Windows Software Update, or from the Company website.

The famous hacker MuscleNerd says that the new service address to no less than 40 bugs and vulnerabilities. CVE or Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures are reported to Apple by various people, or discovered by its employees, they are made public and are repaired by updates. Given that Apple has solved so many problems, it is clear that Apple’s security team had quite a lot of work in the recent months and we can wait for such things in iOS 7.

In iOS 6 Apple has implemented ASLR for securing the operating system, a jailbreak solution has been developed anyway, but for iOS 7 we should expecte to improve security measures of our iPhone since they started to be used in high institutions from U.S. and beyond.

Google I/O Raises The Bar For WWDC 2013

Last evening Google held Google I/O, a 3:00 conference that Google has presented numerous updates to its services, and a new product. Markets reacted positively to Google news, the company’s shares for the first time exceeded $900 and the value of market capitalization passed 300 billion. Google stunned in a pleasant enough news for many people with Google Maps, Google Now, with the launch of Hangouts application, implementing new service for developers, etc, and has raised the bar for WWDC 2013 which will start on June 10.

Google has strategically placed I/O’s with only a month before WWDC and sent the ball into the court now to Apple to be doing an event at least as spectacular. Apple is preparing to submit iOS 7, OS X 10.9, perhaps new versions of the Mac, but further than that nobody knows if Apple has something amazing. In general WWDC was seen as a very important event in Apple’s hardware, the company’s strategy has changed, but the attention it remained, all tickets priced at $1,600 was sold it in just two minutes.

Given that the world’s eyes are fixed on Apple in the evening of June 10, would the Company manage to present at least as many interesting things as Google? It’s hard to say, it’s possible to see news about Apple Maps, it is possible to see news about Siri, definitely we will see many new things about the iOS 7 and OS X 10.9, but without a new iPhone the world will remain somewhat disappointed. Google has shown that to keep developers and users happy is the need for innovation, the implementation of the news, now remains to be seen whether Apple will make a more interesting WWDC than last year when iOS 6 hasn’t shined.
