<title>iPhone 3G Jailbreaked: Pwnage Tool Coming This Week?</title>
			<link>http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/iphoneunlockaustralia/feed/~3/337932712/iphone-3g-jailbreaked-pwnage-tool-coming-this-2.html</link>
<description>iPhone in Canada: (http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/unlocking/iphone-3g-jailbreaked-pwnage-tool-coming-this-week/) For those waiting on fence and thinking about whether or not to buy an iPhone 3G, good news is around the corner. As you may have already heard, the iPhone Dev Team has already jailbreaked the iPhone 3G and will be releasing their Pwnage tool later this week.
What does this mean to everyday consumers? Jailbreaking means you will be allowed to install non-Apple software on your iPhone. Installer will be making a comeback it seems!
World&amp;#8217;s 1st Jailbroken 3G Phone (http://www.vimeo.com/1344970?pg=embed&amp;#038;sec=1344970) from iphonedev (http://www.vimeo.com/user599304?pg=embed&amp;#038;sec=1344970) on Vimeo (http://vimeo.com?pg=embed&amp;#038;sec=1344970)

Also, the world&amp;#8217;s first unlocked iPhone 3G has been accomplished by folks in Brazil. How? They have used a wafer thin chip that &amp;#8220;tricks&amp;#8221; the SIM card into thinking it&amp;#8217;s a test card. Then, voila! Your iPhone 3G is unlocked. Check this video for more (it&amp;#8217;s not in English&amp;#8230;anyone care to translate?):

The cat and mouse game between Apple and the iPhone community seems to be in full swing, yet again. If you recall, I unlocked my first generation iPhone myself on 1.1.1 firmware (http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/how-to/the-easiest-way-to-unlock-your-new-111-iphone/), and then eventually upgraded from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 (http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/3rd-party-applications/how-to-update-iphone-firmware-111-to-114-with-ziphone-25c-video-2/).
One of the benefits of buying a Rogers iPhone 3G is that when new firmware updates are released by Apple, you can just update in iTunes instead of doing the whole jailbreak/activate/unlock thing. Unlocking the iPhone was a lot of fun and challenging at time, but it can be nerve wracking if it&amp;#8217;s your first time!

			<title>iPhone OS 2.0 Unlocked</title>
			<link>http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/iphoneunlockaustralia/feed/~3/332248563/iphone-os-2.0-unlocked-2.html</link>
			<description>
The new iPhone OS 2.0 (http://gizmodo.com/tag/iphone-os-2%270/) software has been unlocked and jailbroken. It was released just hours ago (http://gizmodo.com/5023760/download-20-firmware-for-any-iphone-right-now) and it has already been cracked by the iPhone Dev Team (http://gizmodo.com/tag/iphone-dev-team/). The first one took a couple of months (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/exclusive/iphone-free-software-unlock-confirmed-death-star-explodes-298825.php), but this one was actually unlocked before Apple released it to the public. And you have had the proof (http://gizmodo.com/5023707/first-iphone-app-store-walkthrough-verdict-works-perfectly) in front of you all morning (http://gizmodo.com/5023755/first-itunes-remote-app-for-iphone-hands+on).

If you were wondering how I was doing push email tests (http://gizmodo.com/5023904/iphones-mobileme-push-mail-hands+on-shows-why-blackberry-is-dead) on iPhone OS 2.0 and Vodafone UK, this is the reason why. The code wizard commandos at the iPhone Dev Team have been working on this non-stop since the early days of beta testing (http://gizmodo.com/366751/iphone-20-unlocked-with-modified-beta-firmware-runs-any-application). In fact, I had iPhone OS 2.0 running on my iPhone since last week (http://gizmodo.com/5021378/iphone-20-video-walkthrough-and-itunes-77-confidential-screenshots). That was version 5A345, two below 5A347, but identical in functionality.
Now that the official iPhone OS 2.0 is out, the iPhone Dev Team will release their Pwnage tool for everyone to unlock and jailbreak their iPhones soon, although the specific date/time is not firm yet. It may not be as interesting as before—since most countries now have the iPhone and it will be impossible to buy without doing a contract first—but people looking to install unsigned applications and buy pay-as-you-go cards while traveling—instead of roaming—will find it very useful.
And besides, we don't get tired of seeing the Death Star (http://gizmodo.com/tag/death-star/) exploding again and again. [iPhone Dev Team Portal (http://wikee.iphwn.org/) and Gizmodo (http://gizmodo.com/5023971/iphone-os-20-unlocked-yes) ]

			<title>iPhone in Australia</title>
			<link>http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/iphoneunlockaustralia/feed/~3/308714648/iphone-in-australia-3.html</link>
<description>Yes - the WWDC started 17 hours and a lot has happened. We're sure you've read many many stories about it, and have been excited by what is to come. iPhone in Australia has reached thousands of pageviews in the last 24 hours, and we're very aware (thanks to those who have e-mailed us) that the site has a lot to cover. So let's get into it.
The 2008 WWDC Keynote
Watch Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveil iPhone 3G, the App Store, MobileMe, and more in his Worldwide Developers Conference keynote address from San Francisco's Moscone West here (http://www.apple.com/au/iphone/buy/). Also, there will be no in-home activation for iPhone 3G - it will have to be activated in store (at Optus/Vodafone or Apple Store), which takes 10-12 minutes, meaning that first day line is going to be very very long. And you will have to camp out, since there won't be any online ordering at launch.
Cost?
The iPhone 3G will start USD$199 for an 8GB model. The 16GB model will sell for USD$299, and is available also in white backing. It will be available in all countries starting July 11. We've received from an anonymous source that Vodafone will be selling the iPhone outright for $699AUD.

MobileMe

As rumored, Apple has announced MobileMe, described by Apple Vice President for product marketing Phil Schiller as "Exchange for the rest of us."

Features
- Push Email, calendar, and contacts
- Synchronization between iPhone, Mac and PC (Outlook for Windows integration)
- "Desktop-like" Web Applications for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, photo gallery, and iDisk online storage available via me.com.

MobileMe replaces .Mac and will be available in early July for AUD$119/year, with a 60 day free trial available.Read more about pricing (http://www.apple.com/au/mobileme/pricing/).

Much more excitement to come until July 11th! Mark your calendars!</description>
