How to Find iPod Tips

Let's face it: many of us go online in search of tips more than we go any other place these days. In the old days, we might have asked our father to teach us how to tie a tie, or we might have been tempted to pull over and stop and ask for directions. But these days, we're more inclined to simply ask web sites like Google and Yahoo for the answers to our questions. Why? Well, it's easier, for one, but it's also become habit.

So finding tips should be incredibly easy, right? Well, that's not always the case; at least not if you plan on finding totally original tips for better using your iPod. You might come across one article that gives you three tips and - not satisfied with those, click on the next listing in a Google search. The problem? That new article is simply an article that quotes the article you've already read! For those inexperienced with Google and Yahoo already, finding new and better ways to use your iPod can feel like trying to get to the bottom of a mystery.

It all starts off - where else? - by finding a good source for your tips. You want to find a place that you can trust to give you the straight dope - and no, this isn't necessarily a recommendation of the site "The Straight Dope." Instead, you want to find the respectable online sites and publications that realy put their tips through the furnace in order to see which one survives as an actual, quality piece of advice. A site like CNet, for example, can be a nice little source for iPod tips and tricks.

Other places to find tips and tricks for better using your iPod can include message boards and similar interactive forums where many iPod enthusiasts are happy to share their knowledge with you. You will, of course, want to remember that you should be careful with trying out any tip you read on the Internet - without proper research, you never know if you're doing something illegal or if you run the risk of actually just making your iPod worse. Many tips will be harmless, sure, but it's important to keep a sharp eye out. It doesn't hurt to be cynical when you're surfing the Internet, and even if you're typically an optimist, you might want to think about checking that attitude at the door.

Yes, simple Google and Yahoo searches are fine for finding tips, too, although there are some aforementioned downsides that could mean a frustrating search for what you're really looking for. You'll want to keep in mind that Google and Yahoo offer advanced search options and, by the way, if you're not using quotation marks in order to enhance your searches, then you truly are an amateur. Remember that using quotations marks can help you pinpoint something much more specific: putting "two words" in quotes like I just did means that you'll actually find web sites that not only have those words, but have them together in the same way. The search for iPod tips is not nearly as powerful as iPod tips "battery life." You'll notice that the iPod tips "battery life" will pinpoint sites that have more relevant information to share with you on this particular topic.

Finding iPod tips isn't tough - heck, you're finding plenty of them here at this site. But if you don't know what you're doing, you may find it easy to get frustrated; heck, you may even find an exciting tip that doesn't quite work out in real life. Remain persistent if you really want your iPod to run like a pro's, and you should end up doing just fine.

How to Use an iPod to Get Fit

Unfortunately, many of us are so ignorant into the many benefits of an iPod that we think the only way an iPod can help get us in shape is by keeping our minds energized and focused with some music during a workout.

As you're about to see, that's not exactly how it always is. You can use Apple's Nike + iPod series to change the way you work out and get more serious about your level of fitness.

But what exactly does this series do for you? After all, the iPod is great, but it's not exactly a personal trainer. Is it? Let's find out.

Using the Nike + iPod on a Run

When you use the full hookup - meaning using the proper iPod (such as a Nano or a Touch) as well as the right Nike equipment - then your iPod can actually do more things for you like count the miles you've run. Take a look at Apple's Nike + iPod page to check out exactly how this works and what you'll have to do in order to get it set up. Imagine the different possibilities: if you're training for a run, for example, you don't have to worry about counting laps. You can simply concentrate on a focused workout or let the music you're listening to distract you away from the challenge as you run. If you've ever been a serious runner before, you might realize just how beneficial you can be. And if you're running on the road, having less distractions can help you pay more attention to your overall safety. That's definitely a bonus.

By the way, counting miles isn't it: you can check out how many calories you've burned and track your time - in other words, it's like bringing treadmill technology out on a run with you. The best of both worlds: like running a treadmill but doing it in the open air with a view.

At the Gym

Speaking of the treadmill, the Nike + iPod technology doesn't have to keep you limited to the outdoors. You can get a great belly fat burning workout inside when the whether outside is terrible but you don't want to skip out on a workout because of a rainy day. You can hook up your iPod to gym machines and even sync things up between your workouts and your iPod. You'll be able to watch movies while you're on the bike, for example, without losing track of where you are or where your workout is taking you.

Discipline

Discipline, by definition, doesn't come easy. But as technology progresses, we find newer and newer ways to help push ourselves: and one of those ways is by measuring our progress. Obviously, no workout program can work out for you: and you wouldn't get the same benefits psychologically or physically as you do with natural workouts anyway. What you can do, however, is use a program like Nike + iPod as a supplement to your identity-level change. You can use it to help inspire you on your journey and remind you where you're headed.

If you really want to use the Nike + iPod features to help with your workout, then take a look at all of the different equipment that's necessary to make it work, as well as the features you might see yourself using. You'd be amazed at the high quality of the information you can find out about your workout through simple, relatively small devices, and as you read more about working out, we'll bet that you feel more inspired to make this new kind of lifestyle happen. It's all about inspiration, momentum, discipline, and the persistence to see your goals through to the end.

How to Actually Use Your Downloaded iPod Movies

Be honest: how much do you really watch your television shows or movies that you've downloaded onto your iPod? Many of you probably enjoy them for a little bit while using the bus, but ultimately wait until you're home in which to enjoy your real video programming. The new iPad's large screen has allowed a better enjoyment of movies and television shows while you're on the go, but what about those of you who are still "stuck" with the iPad? How are you going to get the enjoyment you paid for?

To get some value out of your downloaded iPod movies and television shows, we're going to present you with a few quick tips and tricks that should have you exploring your video playlist once more. And hey, failing that, you can always go back to your music.

When do you use your movies?

To start answering when you can start better using your iPod movies, let's ask a question: when do you currently watch them? We're guessing that, unless you have a Big LCD TV set at home (check here to see the areas of the world with the most TVs), you're probably going to use your iPod as your main source of entertainment. The problem, of course, is that so many people have television sets and laptop computers that the small iPod movies you own won't exactly feel all that enthralling.

That's why it's important to find the times you actually do use your iPod movies. You might fire up a movie while you're taking a bus on the way to work, or enjoy a movie while in the back of a car on certain road trips. In other words, there aren't a lot of times you can actually enjoy these movies. You may spend a lot of time driving, but you can't watch a movie and drive at the same time.

When don't you use your movies?

Now, let's consider those times you may use your iPod but don't necessarily use your movies. You might use your iPod to feed music to your car's audio system, allowing you to hear outside sounds as well as the music indoors. You might use your iPod during a fat loss workout, or while walking to class or to work.

Believe it or not, these can actually be good times to enjoy your movies. No, we don't want you to watch them: but you should consider simply playing the audio of a movie you've already seen and enjoyed. It's a good way to pass the time when you're sick of the same old songs every time and you want a plot to follow along with.

When you're on those long runs outdoors, playing a movie's audio and ignoring the video isn't a bad way to pass the time. The more involved you get with the movie's plot, the less you'll feel the strain of the workout. It's a great way to lull yourself into a pretty nice rhythm.

This isn't the way to watch new movies - and you'll always want to make sure you never actually watch the movies when your eyes are needed elsewhere. But you can essentially turn a movie into a radio show by ignoring the video once in a while.

Relaxation time

Another great way to make sure you actually get value out of the movies or TV shows you've downloaded is to set some time apart each day to enjoy them on your iPod. Since you can take your iPod with you, you might want to consider walking to a park and watching a brief television show as a nice little break - you'll be outdoors, you'll be getting exercise, and you'll finally be able to feel like you've gotten your download money's worth.
You May Also Be Interested In:

Four Less-Than-Conventional Uses for the iPod

The iPod is a feat of electrical engineering - at least it was when it first came out, almost a decade ago.

Since then, we've seen the market flooded with electronic products of all kinds, many of which can help us bring our songs, movies, and television shows with us wherever we go. We now even have a consumer-grade tablet, the iPad, ready for widespread use.

But what about the less-conventional uses for the iPod? Might you still be able to find some value in these ever-improving gadgets?

We live in a technological age in which it's easy for electronics to become obsolete. But if you check out the less-than-conventional uses for the iPod as presented in this article, you'll find a way to squeeze the most value out of that old iPad without feeling like you're living in the Stone Age.

Ditch those wallet photos: We all know about the custom of carrying pictures of family and friends in your wallet, using pocket-sized snapshots that adequately display our loved ones for others to view. But what if you didn't have to lug this kind of hardware around anymore? If you want a thinner wallet, you'll have to ditch a lot of that extra junk and considering using a product like the iPod Nano, which allows you to display photos. Sure, it can be hard to see far-away shots on the Nano, but if you stick to closeups, you can flip through your "wallet photos" with greater ease than you ever could with your actual, uh, wallet photos.

An exercise companion: Okay, okay, okay: you already use the "song" features to help you exercise & lose belly fat, putting together a play list to help inspire you to lift bigger weights at the gym or playing an exciting song that helps us get through those long, tough miles on the treadmill. But that's not what we're talking about here. If you again refer to your iPod Nano, you can find a "stopwatch" feature that is great for helping you to track your workout. No actual stopwatch required! If you're going to be bringing your Nano along on the workout anyway, you might as well make full use of its many features: the stopwatch can help you time intense running sessions or time your overall speed for a mile run. The more you measure, the more you'll feel inspired to break your own personal bests.

File backups: Information is a major commodity these days, and in order to make sure that your information is safe, it helps to have a backup made. Of course, you'll want to use your professional-grade backup systems in order to make sure your computers are backed up properly, but it can't hurt to backup some multimedia files - that ones that can be downloaded to your iPod - by keeping them handy on your gadget. You never know when your computer may con out on you and having an iPod file backup can be a great, quick way to access the appropriate lost files.

Studying: If you use your iPod when you've got some down time, why not use that downtime to study? You can easily make a recording of yourself listing facts that you need to remember for that final exam down the line - just play it occasionally for some help throughout the year. It can really help you to remember facts better if you are reminded of them occasionally, so why not create a sound file of you repeating those facts to occasionally play for yourself? Take five minutes of time out of an occasional day and you might be surprised at how well the facts stick.
You May Also Be Interested In:

Which iPod Should You Buy?

Deciding which iPod is the right iPod to buy for you is a little like picking out your favorite movie - sometimes, you just can't pick one. But when you just want to buy one and aren't sure about which one will suit your lifestyle the best, then you've got a clear choice to make: there's no point in buying an iPod Shuffle if you already own an iPod Classic. That's why this article will take you through a tour of all the iPod models in order to steer you in the right direction.

Which iPod is best for you? Check out our description of each and try to see which one might just tickle your fancy.

The iPod Shuffle

The iPod Shuffle is the smallest, simplest, and cheapest you can buy - essentially, if all you're looking for is a way to transport your music and occasionally listen to them while you're on a bus or passing some time during a workout, there's no need to spring for anything that's more expensive than a Shuffle. You can even make sure to check out sites like Craigslist or eBay to buy even cheaper versions of the Shuffle. There's no fun "clickwheel" here, which is a disadvantage: without screen navigation, it can be harder to identify the songs you have on the Shuffle.

Even if you're a poor college student, you can probably afford a Shuffle to at least carry many of your favorite songs with you. There are plenty of negatives here, as you can't have video on the iPod Shuffle, you can't take pictures, and you can't really even navigate through your songs the way you might prefer. Even so, the Shuffle is the ideal choice for the minimalist or the stingy shopper.

The iPod Nano

The iPod Nano is what you might consider your "standard" iPod nowadays: it has all the new features you'd expect from this kind of product - capturing video, playing video, etc. - and also makes a great way to store your music if you simply want to listen to a play list while you're on the treadmill. The Nano is small and light - though not quite as small as a Shuffle can get - which makes it an excellent option for anyone who appreciates simplicity but wants more features out of their iPod. The Nano isn't as inexpensive as the Shuffle but you may just find that it's worth a little more money upfront.

The iPod Classic

An iPod Classic isn't what it used to be - with megastorage available now, you can house tens of thousands of songs. You can also keep videos on your iPod Classic, which distinguishes it from the Shuffle. The iPod Classic still has a "throwback" design that isn't as sleek as the Nano, but just might attract a little more attention should you ever decide to bring the Classic out. Don't think that the current iPod Classic is what the iPod was years ago - it's actually a great improvement while keeping many of the core functions many have come to know and love.

The iPod Touch

The king of the iPod world, the iPod Touch, is essentially a stripped-down version of the iPhone. You can access the Internet on the Touch, which means you can actually perform work-related tasks. It's not all about entertainment with the iPod Touch, even though you can download songs and movies on it. The iPod Touch has other features like a calendar, notes, and even more advanced games that are great for when you want to take a more interactive approach to your time-wasting. You can't place phone calls on the iPod Touch, but you will have a lot of other features you can't find in other iPods.
You May Also Be Interested In:

Five Reasons to Buy an iPod Classic

In electronic years, the iPod Classic is about a hundred years old.

That's because technology moves fast these days - it was only years before the iPhone and the iPad hit the market, virtually wiping out the need for an iPod similar to the classic design.

But is that even true? If so, why does Apple continue to sell a version of the classic while it's offering what are clearly bigger and better products at the same online store?

The answer is simple: it's because there's still plenty of reason to buy an iPod Classic. We plan on listing just five of them here:

Reason #1: It's vintage, man. Having an iPod Classic doesn't necessarily make you look outdated, particularly if you're already young yourself. With so many cheap alternative options on the table these days, people might assume that you bought the iPod Classic with full intention on buying just that: an iPod Classic. It's not exactly as outdated as the Walkman, but an iPod Classic can deliver much of the same technology - holding thousands of songs in your pocket - while looking like it's from a different decade. Pull out the iPod Classic and you'll probably start another conversation amongst you and your friends...and maybe even a stranger or two.

Reason #2: The capacity. This ain't your daddy's iPod. Well, it might be more appropriate to say: this ain't your older brother's iPod. The Classic can hold tens of thousands of songs, which marks a massive improvement over the original iPods. (Want to check out the different generations of iPod models? Click here.) You aren't holding 5 gigabytes of space in your iPod Classic, you're holding some 160 gigabytes with the current iPod Classic. In other words, that's a massive improvement of storage space. Have you even heard 40,000 songs in your life?

Reason #3: The simplicity. Sure, Apple's gadgets - from phones to tablets - are known for their general simplicity and intuitive menus, but there's something great about the iPod classic wheel that will never get old. There's also the attractiveness of having a separate product that holds only your music. If you want to go on a run without being distracted from other things, bringing an iPod Classic with you can be a great option. Even with all of our great electronic technology, it's sometimes good to stick with what simply works.

Reason #4: Affordability. Whether you're a broke college student or simply don't have the money to pay for an iPad, you can still bring great music with you in your iPod Classic without making yourself poor. Affordability can be a major issue these days, as uncertain economic climates across the world have people apprehensive about spending their money. Affordability should not be taken out of the equation when you're thinking about buying electronics.

Reason #5: You can still have video. The iPod Classic isn't all music - you can have video, an option that was once a revolution in the iPod world but has now come to be relatively commonplace. Take advantage of the advances electronics have made since the original iPod by buying the latest version of the iPod Classic and you'll be be able to download movies and television episodes and keep them in the same place as your movies. It's still a great way to pass the time while you're on the bus or on the train.

Have we convinced you yet? That's ok if we haven't; there are plenty of electronics to consider these days. But before you write off the iPod Classic, try and consider whether or not these reasons have had an impact on you.
You May Also Be Interested In:

When it comes to smart phones, tablets, and their overall functions, you can't beat gadgets like the iPhone and the newly-released iPad.

Even Apple's own successful line of iPod products doesn't really measure up - although the closest product available, the iPod Touch, does closely resemble the iPhone.

While the iPhone might set you back a pretty penny so that you can have added features like the calling option, is the iPod Touch - often far less expensive - a better option if you want to save money?

The answer is a resounding "maybe." Like just about any other purchase, it will really depend on your wants, your needs, and the amount of money you have coming in each month. If you want to save money, the iPod Touch can be a cheaper option. But whether or not it's the better option is up for debate.

Capabilities

The iPod Touch is the most advanced iPod on the market - there's no doubt that it beats out the features of other iPod products like the iPod Shuffle and even the iPod Classic. Its larger screen makes it easier to play games, watch television shows and enjoy movies - and it's also a great feature to have when you simply want to interface with the device itself. No, there's no patented "Clickwheel" on the iPod Touch, but what it lacks in Clickwheels it more than makes up for in overall functionality and features.

And what exactly are those features? A good way to get a more comprehensive list is to check out CNet's review of the first-generation iPod Touch. If you're buying a used iPod Touch, you'll know that at the very least it should have these same features because that first-generation Touch is as old as it gets.

Calling the iPod Touch the iPhone's "baby brother," CNet notes that a lot of the features you get on the iPhone are available on the Touch, minus - of course - the phone feature itself. The iPod Touch will give you internet access if you can find a WiFi hotspot and allows you to check email, write yourself notes, and keep track of your schedule on a calendar.

Pricing

Surprisingly, the iPod Touch can be remarkably similar in price to the iPhone these days, particularly if you're comparing a new iPod Touch to an older-generation iPhone. Of course, we would be dishonest if we didn't mention that the iPhone often comes with the AT&T plan that requires a monthly investment in addition to the initial purchase of the product itself - the iPod Touch, of course, can easily be had without a similar commitment.

If you really want an electronics device similar to the iPhone without that monthly commitment, then an iPod Touch is probably for you. It may be pricey to order one off of the Apple web site, but at least you will be done with your purchase that month! If you find yourself struggling to make rent every month, adding an iPhone should be something you do with a very contemplative attitude.

Deciding which gadget is best for you and your financial situation isn't so hard if you have a lot of money to spare - and, after all, the iPhone is actually a gadget that will meet your phone needs. If you absolutely need a cellular phone and want a smart phone that has capabilities similar to the iPhone, it might be best not to buy an iPod Touch and a cellular phone - you can simply have both in one with the iPhone.

Which is best for you? Take a look at your bank account and ask yourself which product is the wiser investment. Try to separate your wants and actually consider the impact each device would have on your finances - and whether, with the iPhone, the monthly costs may actually be worth the price. They just might!
You May Also Be Interested In:

Four Tips for Avoiding iPod Troubles at School or At Work

Whether you're attending school or working in an office, it's important to sneak in some leisure time in order to feel rested and rejuvenated throughout the day. If you can meet anyone capable of eight straight hours of work, or an hour and a half of undivided attention, then you've met an extremely rare fellow indeed. Most of us need distractions, and when we have an iPod, we have easy access to those distractions.

The trick, of course, is not letting this distraction become such a nuisance that it interferes with our responsibilities. Far and away the best way to avoiding iPod "issues" when at school or at work is to avoid breaking the rules in the first place. But there are some great ways you can sneak in some iPod time without getting the boss angry or having the teacher call you out. Here's how.

Keep your iPod where it belongs: on a lunch break.

If you have no other recourse, it's best to use the iPod during a lunch break, or simply outside of class. You'll avoid stepping over the boss's - or the teacher's - toes and you'll still be able to feel like you're really enjoying some leisure time. CodeClimber feels the same way about using your iPod while on a break: it's a great way to relieve some stress and to get your head in a different place than it was just moments before. Playing a soothing song or even an energetic one is great for rejuvenating the mind and keeping your intuition sharp. When it comes to high school or college, it's best to avoid stuffing your ear with audio equipment unless you're free to do so. There may be exceptions, and we'll address those.

Make sure you're a good student - or good employee.

If you're valuable, the boss is more likely to give you leeway when you're at work, and willing to say yes to allowing you a few comforts. It's easier to simply keep you happy that way than try to "manage" you into behaving differently. The same is true in the classroom. If you've proven to be an effective, participating student, your teacher is more likely to believe that you're capable of handling an iPod in the right situations. When you ask for permission - as you will in the next tip - it is more likely that your teacher or your boss will answer in the affirmative.

Ask permission to use headphones.

If your class is quietly employing study time or if you're going to need to be doing data entry, there's a perfectly good spot to ask your superior or teacher about using headphones. In many cases, letting them know that you won't disturb other workers or classmates is what can get you a "Yes." Just make sure that you never abuse this power when you are granted it; you don't want to lose the privileges. Make sure you play your iPod at a volume that isn't crushing your ears and distracting other people - it should be virtually silent to everyone else. You might even want to keep the volume turned a little low just to make sure.

Take off the headphones when the teacher or boss is in a bad mood.

You don't want the teacher/boss to associate your iPod with their negative emotions, so sometimes it's best to sit and quietly work. You can get away with more iPod usage by asking permission when the teacher/boss is in a good mood. Don't use their mood, however, as an excuse not to ask permission before you first use the iPod.
You May Also Be Interested In:

Why Did the iPod Become So Popular?

Many of us might look back on the release of the iPod and take its success as a given. After all, it was such a market innovation with a clever, simple marketing idea behind it - 1,000 songs in your pocket - that it's easy to see why it became such a stellar success.

In hindsight, at least. To date, hundreds of millions of iPods have been sold, and the current line sees many different series, including the Shuffle, the Nano, the Classic, and the Touch.

So what has led to the rise of a product like this, and what kind of market must have it appealed to in order to garner such a massive worldwide following?

Let's take a look back at this innovation known as the iPod.

History

The iPod started its run back in 2001, having been launched on October 23rd of that year. Initially branded as "1,000 songs in your pocket," - a look at the current Apple page for the iPod Classic advertises 40,000 songs - the concept had apparently been ordered by Steve Jobs and handed over to a team of engineers who set about developing it. Interestingly, it was the work of a copy writer to come up with the name "iPod," being a slight reference to the line "Open the pod bay doors, HAL" in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

It doesn't take a historian to figure out where this initial launch has led. Although some now-extinct iPod series had been developed, including the iPod Mini and the iPod Photo, we have now arrived at a core of iPod products that each feature a range of functionality differences and features. The iPod Shuffle - the simplest iPod out there - strips the iPod down to its bare essentials and simply plays audio with a few basic buttons to help you orchestrate them.

Marketability

One of the great things about the iPod is that it is simple and easy to market. A concept like "1,000 songs in your pocket" is simple and sells itself: that's all someone needs to know in order to justify spending a lot of money on a portable music player. With a thousand songs in your pocket, there's really no reason to ever worry about buying another electronic gadget like that in the future again...right?

The iPod continues to dominate the marketplace with clever marketing and ever-increasing abilities in products that have developed outside of the original scope of a small, portable music player. Instead of being a better way to play songs - not with CDs, but with stored information - the new iPods have introduced cameras, video, and even Internet browsing into the world of portable electronics. With the release of the iPhone just a few short years ago, the idea of the personal gadget has evolved to new levels. In 2010, the world of smart phones is tightly connected with the Internet, games, music, and videos. What was once revolutionary is slowly becoming standard.

Simplicity and Wide Appeal

Finally, we'll want to consider one of the more obvious aspects of the iPod that makes it so effective: its simplicity. iPods don't try to do too much for you. Even the advanced iPod Touch doesn't do anything unless you press a simple icon on the main screen. The original iPods are simple, with the famous click wheel helping you easily navigate the menus in order to select the song of your choice. The simpler an iPod is, the less there is for customers to hate.

Why is the iPod so successful. Well, ask yourself if you own one. Do you? If so, then all you really have to understand is what prompted you to buy one.
You May Also Be Interested In:

How to Use an iPod for a Road Trip

It's one thing to travel with your iPod, listening to a few songs while the bus takes you home from work. It's another thing to be ready for a road trip, in which you and a few friends pop away in a car and head somewhere far away. How exactly can you use your iPod to escape the inevitable boredom that comes from being forced to stay in one spot for so long? Hopefully, after reading this article, you'll be much clearer about how to do it.

Before we start, it's important to note that you'll never want to use your iPod headphones when you're driving - you need to pay attention to the road and any other potential car horns that could be warning you about impending danger. This article is not advocating that, so make sure you never do it.

As a passenger

If you're a passenger on this road trip, then you'll want to make sure you follow a few rules.

First, you'll want to be courteous to the other people in the car. If everyone is talking and having a good time, but you're the one on his iPod, shuffling through albums titles and searching for the next song to play, that will come across as rude. You're deliberately setting yourself apart from the conversation, and if you're in someone else's car, there's a good chance they'd prefer the pleasure of your company. An exception, of course, is when no one in the same car particularly likes you. In that case, our iPod tips are probably the least of your problems.

But when there are major lulls, it couldn't hurt to be ready for the trip with your iPod. We recommend setting up an iPod "play list" ahead of time so that you can simply turn it on and start listening without having to worry about pressing any buttons or shuffling tracks around. If you want to make your play list solely music, make sure you pick songs you really enjoy - and try to get creative with it, creating a flow to the songs that will maintain your interest.

It's also a good idea to have some extra audio - such as a book on tape that you've been listening to. Whether you prefer fiction or non-fiction is up to you. We also might recommend videos and movies for some people, but for many people, this can simply make them carsick. If you want to have an hour and a half of nausea-free entertainment, you might even try simply listening to the audio of a specific movie. You might be tempted to watch the movie, but if you keep your iPod tucked away you should be content to simply listen to the audio.

As a driver

If you're driving, you'll want to focus on a couple of things, including safety. You want to keep your iPod hands-free, so let someone else choose the play list or set a few ahead of time. Ask your passengers if they mind what you're going to play: be courteous. But if they don't care what you play, use a product like the RoadTrip from Griffin Technology, which provides a dock for your iPhone or iPod.

If you want to, go ahead and set a playlist ahead of time, but there's a good chance your friends will like to "mess with" your iPod to see what else they can play. Even if you've heard a particular song of their favorite album already, let it play for them. It might be tempting to say "my car, my rules," and you can always play that card, but be willing to share the wealth as well.
You May Also Be Interested In:
