Installous par hackulo.us:

Pro:

1. Très belle façon de télécharger des applications

Note: 8 / 10

Note: 7.5/10

Note de fin:

Installous par Hackulo.us 8 / 10

install0us par 8.5/10 Puy0

The game is on!

Hackulo.us has released a new version of Installous with many new features. It was probably because they want to gain more users and to turn the users that use install0us by Puy0, a former of Installous by hackulo.us.

First comes the design

The look and feel of Installous by hackulo.us has been completely revamped. They have made it almost identical to the AppStore which gives it a familiar look for easy navigation. It uses very brighter colors than the previous version which makes it easier to see while being exposed to the sun. The icon could be improved though. The popups announcing new downloads and installs are also very attractive. Since apptrackr.org is actually implemented in the app, the picture scrolling

Install0us 2.5.2 by Puy0 also has a very good user interface. It uses dark colors which makes it look nice but it is hard to see under sun exposure. The popups announcing the downloads and installs are very minimalistic and non-obstructive. The download bars are very big and has important information.

We give:

Installous by hackulo.us an 8/10

and

install0us by Puyo an 8.5/10

All in all, the decision on which one looks nicer is up to you.

General:

Something that install0us users will notice at first on Installous 3.1 is the lack of browsing other websites to get applications. It is limited to apptrackr.org which is a very big database of cracked apps. When installing apps with Installous 3.1, it brings a popup with all the links to download. It is better than to wait for the mobile version of apptrackr to load all the links. You can also select on the fly which way to browse your apps. Either by apps & updates, apps and popularity. All this can be done without necessarily going back to the home page of apptrackr.org

Installous by hackulo.us:

Pro’s:

Very nice way to download applications

Fast loading of the app pages

Fast selection of categories and on-the-fly switching

Browsing images is also faster (Less lag)

Con’s:

Not flexible in terms of browsing other websites.

Some images fail to load

Rating: 8/10

install0us by Puy0 uses an actual browser which means that the pages load less fast than on Installous. One good thing about having a browser is that you can browse any website you want to find a missing application in apptrackr. The search speed using the mobile version of apptrackr is a tad slower than on the built in apptrackr.

install0us by Puy0:

Pro’s:

Flexible browsing to many different app sites

Ability to set a home page

Actually has a refresh button

Con’s

Slow loading of pages

Selection of different tabs which make s the loading time slower

Rating: 7.5/10

General Errors:

install0us by Puy0 barely has any errors. The only error we have encountered is that once in a while, the browser bar disappears which requires you to restart the application.

On the other hand, Installous by hackulo.us is still in beta so it still contains many errors. Some of them are:

The category icons in the browse tab usually disappear leaving you with only “All applications”

Sometimes the actual apps don’t load after selecting a category

Clearing the category and the icons cache doesn’t always work

There are some occasional crashing while installing apps or while browsing apps

Error wise, install0us by Puy0 has less bugs than Installous by hackulo.us. The only downside is that Puy0 has stopped the development of his application which means that 2.5.2 is the final version and will always contain that single problem. Installous by hackulo.us has a lot of room for improvement.

We give:

Installous by Hackulo.us a 7/10

and

install0us by Puyo a 9/10

To conclude, install0us by Puy0 is much more stable than its competitor but since the development of the app is terminated hackulo.us can easily make it better than install0us. So, for now Puy0 wins the match with a 8.5 out of 10 beating hackulo.us which has 7/10

End Rating:

Installous by Hackulo.us 8/10

install0us by Puy0 8.5/10

GeoHot, the jailbreak king, has reportedly been working on a jailbreaking software for the 3.1.3 firmware. Whether it is going to be an untethered hack, we are still unsure. What we do know is that, he is supposed to be releasing it around the release date of the iPad 3G, which is coming out May 7th 2010. It is said to be called “limera1n” and will most probably be the jailbreaking software for the iPhone 4.0.

So for those of you who just recently purchased an iPod touch/iPhone or made the mistake to upgrade, be strong. The end of this suffering is near!

When someone updates their new device (iPod Touch 2G(MC model), iPod Touch 3g or iPhone 3GS) to the latest firmware, they loose their jailbreak AND loose the ability to downgrade to be able to jailbreak again! Having a SHSH file saved on your computer will enable you to downgrade to an earlier firmware and jailbreak that firmware until a new jailbreak comes out.

There are two ways of doing this.

If you already have a jailbroken device

Open Cydia and make sure you get this page

Once you get it, Just select “Make my life easier, Thanks!”

Now every time you are going to load Cydia you will have this at the top of the Cydia page

Doing this will store your SHSH file on Saurik’s (Cydia) server and will enable you to downgrade later on.

It’s not done yet. To be safe, Make sure to make a backup on your computer and this is how to do it.

Download this file made by iH8Snow

http://www.mediafire.com/?jmkw4k0wm00

Make sure that your device is in recovery mode

Connect your device to the computer

Press and hold the power + Home button until the “Connect to iTunes” logo appears

You also have to make sure you have Java Runtime installed on your computer. If you don’t, the second message your are going to get just press no and AutoSHSH is going to redirect to the download page.

Launch the AutoSHSH program – Make sure you have an Internet Connection (Windows Vista and Windows 7 launch the program as administrator)

You will get these two messages

You will then get this main window

Again make sure that your device is in recovery mode and click on “Grab my SHSH Blobs automatically”

Once it finds your ECID, you will be prompted to save the SHSH file anywhere on your computer

Save it and you are done!

Now you are safe to accidentally update your firmware and to go back.

Now find any text you want, For example Slide to unlock

When you will find it, It will look like this

“AWAY_LOCK_LABEL” = “slide to unlock”;

What you will now have to do is edit the “slide to unlock” part and NOT the “AWAY_LOCK_LABEL

Once you are done editing The Strings you want. Simply save the file and Respring.

If you like to have full control over you iPhone and have never heard of SBSettings before, it is a must have. This light add-on allows you to have quick access to your processes, brightness and much more. Using it for the first time can be a bit confusing, that’s where we come in though.

**Note: “SB” settings stand for SpringBoard settings.

To access your SBSettings home, simply swipe your finger at least 50 pixels across the status bar. What will come down is this:

Here you can right away see 4 main options, Brightness, Processes, SSH and Wi-Fi.

The brightness tab is pretty straight forward, simply press the button and adjust your brightness on the fly, without have to exit whatever you are doing, go to the settings application, waiting for it to load… etc.

The processes tab allows you to view all applications running in the background, so if you find that your device is running a lot slower than it should be, try ending a few useless processes this should make a lot more memory available and allow you to continue using your iPod Touch/iPhone nice and smoothly. There is also a “Free Up Memory” button, will free up any available memory to make your device faster.

The SSH button lets you toggle your SSH connection. If you have no idea what SSH is, or how to use it, go to this tutorial. Disabling this feature can help save battery power, which is great when you are already running low.

And finally, Wi-Fi. Same as the SSH button, you will toggle your connection to the internet, which will save more battery than just by disabling SSH.

Now, for the smaller icons, there is: More, Refresh, Dock, Respring and Power.

By clicking on “More”, you will close the SBSettings drop down menu and open the actual application. you can now adjust a lot more that just brightness.

Firstly, is the themes pages. Yes, you can apply themes to your SBSettings menu, there are 4 main ones already given, however Cydia offers a wide array of themes created by other people.

Then there is the “Set Toggles” tab. The name of the tab is pretty self-explanatory. You can add to the 4 main toggles. A very useful one to have is “Fast Notes”, for when how have to take something down real fast, but don’t have a pen or a piece of paper and loading the notes app would just be too long.

Next on the list is “Dock Applications”. As I mentioned before, on your SBSettings drop down menu there is a Dock button, here is where you select the applications you wish to be placed there. Let’s say you have an application that you don’t use, but still sometimes need to access and find it a waste of space on your home screen, you can select that application so that it goes to your SBSetting dock. By doing so, it is out of sight, but can still easily be accessed.

The “Hide Icons” tab lets you select apps that you don’t want one your home screen but then cannot be accessed through any means, except by “unhiding” them.

The next tab, “Mobile Substrate Add-ons” is used to toggle faulty add-ons so that they can then be removed through Cydia.

Extras are little options like memory in status bar, numeric battery and much more.

And finally the last page, “App Folders” simply gives you the directory in which a chosen app is found. The point? We haven’t really figured that out yet really, seeing that all AppStore apps are in the same directory and Cydia in one own.

So that’s it for the “More” button on the drop down menu, so lets get back to that.

The refresh button will refresh your IP info, available storage and available memory.

The dock button, as I said previously, allows you to quickly access apps pre-selected in the “More” page.

The “Repsring” button will simply respring your device. This comes in handy when, for example, you are transferring files through SSH and need to update your device.

And last but not least, the “Power” button. When pressed, you are given 4 power options. Reboot (useful if your lock button is broken), Power Off (also very useful if lock doesn’t work), Lock and Safe Mode, this is especially useful if you have just installed a cracked application and it keeps crashing, put your device in safe mode and it might run perfectly, if not, the .ipa is invalid.

All devices are supported except the iPod touch 1G because it does not have bluetooth but if you want to play a game with a friend that owns a newer version device, it will work.

When you are at your cottage, country house or anywhere you don’t have Wifi but you want to play a game with a friend that also owns an iDevice you can play games or send files to each other using a fake Wifi!

You will need to download MyWi from cydia. Make sure you download the No Rock version. You can get it from the Xsellize repo or you can use the download link below (This app should be installed on a device that HAS Bluetooth)

http://www.mediafire.com/?yfqzdfgmmti

If you downloaded the emulator from the first link, refer to this tutorial on how to install .DEB files : Installing .DEB Files

Make sure you turn on Bluetooth in the Settings App

Once you have installed it launch the application

You are now going to make your fake Wifi network using your bluetooth connection

In “Wifi Name”, change it to whatever you want. In this case, We called it Network Test

Leave the Wifi Channel as is. If ever you are having trouble connecting change the channel to another one and test again

You can add a security key if you don’t want anybody else to log in to your fake network

Make sure USB and Bluetooth is set to “On”

You can now turn on Wifi Tethering – At the bottom you will see (Status: MyWi Broadcasting “Network Test”)

Wait until the Wifi logo appears at the top of the status bar

On the other device, Go to Settings and Wi-Fi and select The network Name you chose. On the device where MyWi is running, You can close the app because it runs in the background

Wait for the Wifi logo to appear on the other device

You can now either play games together or transfer files using the Wifi transfer feature in iFile
