My 19th birthday is coming up, and coincidently it's 12 days before Christmas. My parents asked if I wanted a GPS unit/replacement ipod touch? That is, a TomTom (GPS unit) for my birthday - and an iPod Touch 32GB for Christmas (my 8gb 2G was stolen at uni).

A mate today raised the question of "Why don't you just get an iPhone for combined birthday/Christmas? and save yourself carrying around a GPS unit AND a music player" which is a good idea, so I put the idea forth to my parents and they didn't mind - however I would have to pay the difference (~$300AUD) - to which I'm happy to do so.

I want to know what your opinion of this is, and what IS better/faster - ipod touch 3g, or iphone 3gs.

ATM: I have a 12 month contract with 3 (three)(started in July sometime), Samsung F480 $29 plan without internet. I have wifi at home and would rarely need to use internet mobile. (however I do not pay for the cap plan)..

Do I just go with the TomTom and Ipod Touch 32gb, or do I just get an iPhone, I'm really confused.

Your suggestions?

I have recently bought myself a 1st gen 16gb Ipod T, and im still working it all out. I am weighing up the pros and cons of the jailbreaking idea, but im still a bit confused by it all, so im hoping to find someone to give me some info and support.
My personality stinks (or some people think so) as im not much of one for sugar coating things, mind you I do keep to forum rules.
Im a big animal nerd, not so much in the cute cuddly way, they just facinate me, I have my own managery here. So im always on the lookout for any animal related apps.
I also do a fair amount of drawing, such as the poor scribble in my avatar and other things like banners and stuff across the net. But i mostly do it for the fun of it, and i have sketchbook app and its great! Although i wish i had a good quality stylus to draw with.

And thats the end of it. Whattttttt happened. I read the thread about 9.2 and saw that a few people had trouble in the upgrade to 9.2 where it messed with their jailbreaks. I just happened to be on MxTube today downloading videos when I decided to look up N64 on iPod touch thinking I would just get another fake I came across to videos claiming that Zodttd has started work on it. Wanting to test this claim I went to zodttd.com and i actually found tht he just announced it and The best part is tht it is going to be free sincera some onther coders started on the project first and then zodttd himself teamed up with him. Also in his statement zodttd also might hav the emu compatible with iControlPad which I'm not sur has com out yet. He has not released the release date or estimate yet so be patient.
