Okay guys, long story on my iphone, my dad brought a iphone 2g when it came out, and one day lost it, without a clue where it went, he reported it to his insurance company and they blacklisted it ( blocked the IMEi from any Uk network ) and he got a new 3g, afew days later when he comes back from work he has it and hed found it :D, so he gave it to me and said do as you please, so i got straight to it, took out the O2 sim, unlocked and jailbroke it, (3.0) and was happy using it for about 2 hours, when my mate phone my house and said why is your mobile off, i realised it had been blacklisted, mt texts got cancelled, when i tried to ring 3 beeps and it went dead so, i downgraded to eventually 1.1.4, and used ziphone to chamnge the IMEI to my old phones IMEI, and yes its worked, and i can make calls and text etc etc......

and i was just wondering, if i upgrade a few firmwares, will i loose my changed IMEI?
if not, is there a programme that will change the IEMI on a higher firmware as 1.1.4 is absolute rubbish :mad: ?

please help me asap guys as im off to holiday in a few days,

I paid for and downloaded 3.0 firmware for my iPod. I plugged in my iPod and tried to upgrade, then in the middle of the upgrade it failed and it gave me an error message. I clicked more info and it took me to an Apple site saying that I had to unblock ports 80 and 443, turn off any firewalls etc.

So I unblocked ports 80 and 443 on my router and on my Wifi connection on my computer. 'Cos the upgrade failed on my iPod's screen it showed the iTunes logo and a USB cable. I connected it to iTunes and it just comes up as 'iPod', 'Capacity: n/a' and all of the spaces say 'n/a'. Plus there's only the summary tab.

Luckily all my iPod stuff is backed up. Still, I keep trying to upgrade, turning off various firewalls, browsing the net for answers and still nothing!!

when u jb yr ipod 3.0 and have tons and tons of apps. it seems if u have to reboot yr device u might counter the problem that lots of ppl have : yr ipod touch can not reboot and freeze, there is just a black screen ( or white apple appears but cant get into main lockscreen) but itune still recognizes yr ipod touch . this problem forces u to have no other option but jbking yr ipod touch and sync everything again.after having to jailbreak my touch 4th times, i found a way to fix this problem and wanting to share it with everybody who have the same problem as me :)

1st step i suggest u have iphone tunnel suite 2.7 ( download at http://rapidshare.com/files/19927088...el_suit_2.7).u need to do a few changes for this suite to work with 3.0. read instruction how to do it here : http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/...d.php?t=206096

2nd tunnel and connectto yr ipod, go to /private/var/mobile , change the name of folder Applications to Applications2 . if yr ipod touch is rebooting and get stucked at the black screen, it will get into lockscreen in 5-10s after the name is changed.after get into lockscreen. change folder name from Applications2 back to Applications

3rd . unlock yr ipod. .u will notice there are bunch of white icons on yr screens( these are yr apps !).respring yr ipod touch and u should get them all back :)
