As we have bombarded you with information about the National tea cosy Competition we feel it is only right to come straight with all the readers of this blog…….

I, Karen Harper have never owned my own tea cosy and AnneLouise mcDermott doesn’t even own a tea pot…we took on the nation and invited everyone to make a tea cosy without even owning one ourselves!

We are avid Tea drinkers, personally I can knock back 10 cups a day, tea bag straight into the mug, bypassing the tea pot altogether.

My tea pots, 3 in total are all very odd shapes so we had to go out and buy a teapot, standard size and plain colour to model all the entries.

Imelda will never bear a pot of tea, she wants to keep her figure and not stain, also she can to be returned at any stage!

We want to thank everyone for their great entries, well wishing with the competition and we may need to hold off with the Guinness Book of records as we have not had 100’s of entries….quality is better than quantity!

This will be a yearly event, it has been lots of work but great fun, the photoshoot alone was hilarious!

We have more entries to get on the site after the delivery today, and then the ~~candidates participants~~ entries will parade their stuffing at the Craft Festival on Sunday 20th may in the Royal Marine hotel, Dunlaoghaire from 10am to 5pm.

Judging will be at 1pm, and then the Tea Cosies that are for sale will be free to go after 1pm. Some entries will be sold for charity, they will have it written on their tags.

Prizes will be issued after judging and winners will be contacted, we have some lovely prizes and thank our sponsor SuperValu DunLaoghaire and The Ritz carlton Hotel.

We started the voting 5 hours ago and the site has had 776 hits already.

Thank you for supporting this….its time for a cuppa for me!

Well that time has come for you all to view the tea cosies and of course get voting for your very favorite! Check out the website here , there are 3 galleries of teacosies Modern, Traditional and Under 14’s.

So much effort and time has gone in to each one and we were a bit over whelmed by them all. They are all so creative in their own way and thankfully the voting won’t be up to us ourselves so do get voting, Voting ends on Saturday the 19th May at midnight. Do pass on to friends and familiy so you can make your favorite a true winning entry!

Crafting Ireland are holding a fun crop on the 26th May 2012!!

Venue: Athlone Springs Hotel
Time: 10am to 5pm
Cost: €5 to pre book on-line. If there are spaces available tickets will be €10 on the day.

The entry cost includes a space to crop at all day, fun demos throughout the day, snacks and a raffle ticket for some fantastic crafty prizes. There will even be a shop, brought along byCreate With Kate for all those of you who want to get your shopping fix!

We want the day to be all about having fun, getting to meet fellow Irish crafters, and just enjoying yourself while getting as little or as much crafted as you like.

Young Artists’ Summer Camps for Teens - Art Classes Ireland - Dublin 6

A series of One Week Summer Art Camps for teenagers between 13 -17, with Award-winning artist Kevin McSherry.

Centrally located in Dublin 6, these camps will provide:

Inspiration, direction -and greater confidence.
Emphasis on imagination and craft, specially aimed at those teens who love creating art
A headstart on building your portfolio.
My expertise and huge experience in real-world applied arts; working as a regularly published editorial illustrator and fine artist.
Demonstrations of painting and drawing techniques.
Hands-on drawing and painting practice and developing your imagination -and above all; we’ll have fun in the process!

Camps run from Monday to Friday*, 10AM -3PM. (Bring packed lunch)
