My Brighthouse bill seems high for what I get?
I'm getting brighthouse cable internet, but i have another cable company as my T.V cable provider. Do i have to get brighthouse cable to get the internet or do they send the signal inside the same cable, or do they set up another cable just for the internet?

Okay, I have dell computer connected via Ethernet cable

The cable is running from the laptop to the brighthouse box.

Ok, I have a combo with Bright House (Internet & Phone), this came with free basic cable. After the digital transition, they started offering a digital tuner for $1.00 per month that would allow you to pick up the free OTA digital stations plus the basic stations.

The funny thing is, when I hooked the tuner up, I receive MOST all of the channels on every tier except HD. I looked at my bill and there is no extra cable service charges except for the $1.00 plus tax for the tuner.

Also, the special features only partly work, for example Start Over isn't available but On Demand works. Also, if someone calls my Brighthouse Phone the number doesn't show up on the TV (probably because I am not subscribed to digital cable).

Some channels are slowly dissappering, but it takes a couple days to lose a channel or two. But right now, I get most every single station, including the major movie channels.

I seem to remember that Dish and Direct TV boxes did the same thing when they were activated for a few days as well.

What I want to know is is this normal for Bright House and kind of a bait and switch (give you everything free for a few days so you'll miss it when the box finally adopts to your subscription) or is this an error on their part or is the box broke and not acknowledging their signals to close the channels down?

I'm thinking it is a bait and switch tactic but I am not sure.

Even the Account on Demand isn't supposed to work and it does too.

Okay here is my dilema. I work from home and have my computer set up in my front bedroom but my daughter has to move home tomorrow so I need to move it out of this room and into my bedroom. My question is... I have brighthouse cable and internet. If I move my computer from this room, can I just plug it in in the other room and it work or do I need to call the brighthouse guy out to turn on that jack? Also, my television is hooked up to cable in my room. Will my computer and television still work or will I have to shut the cable off in the room to get the internet to work? They would share the same jack?I can't use wireless because I work for a major medical center from home and they want to be sure we are on a secure direct connection through Brighthouse. So if I buy a splitter, all the jacks in the house are internet and cable ready because it is turned on in one room? I'm sorry for all the questions. Just trying to get this worked out in a rush so I don't have to take time off work to get it fixed.

I have att go phone plan. I pay 20 a month for unlimited text picture and instant messanger. But heres the thing. Some instant messanger services are covered. Some are not. I am currently using the palm centro. For instance the aim app that came installed on my centro lets me use the unlimited instant messanger under my plan. But when i installed a 3rd party instant messanger it charged me for internet fees. If i put my sim in the iphone. Itunes Wont Update properly?!?!?
I am looking for a laptop that I can use for:
-light gaming (maybe sims 3 or miniclip.com)
-Writing essays and for school work
-talking to friends
-downloading movies, music,
-watching online movies
-desktop replacement
-Not too pricey
and pretty fast and that can run multiple programs at once such as; msn, itunes and google

I'm leaving tomorrow, and I'd really like to get this to work before I leave.

I decided, since I'm going away for a week, to buy the new iPod software update for my Touch.
In doing so, iTunes requested an update. I decided I better do it, so I did, waited for it to download, and while it was installing, my computer overheated. (I know this because the fan attached to the back of my computer had moved from it's place.)
Anyway, I started it back up, and try to resume iTunes, but the second I clicked on it, it gave me a "iTunes is not responding" and terminated itself. It does this every time I click on the icon.
I've uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, reinstalled with an earlier version, and repaired, anything I could think of. But every time, it keeps giving the same not responding message. I'd really like to get this working soon, so I can sync before I leave in the morning. Thanks.

Here's how I did it (Microsoft Vista OS and AVG Free)---------
1. Open AVG Free
2.Click "Tools" at the top, scroll down to "Advanced Settings"
3. Under the "Resident Shield" directory, (expand it if not already), click "Exceptions".
4. When the menu pops up, click "Add Path" at the upper right.
5. When the window pops up, click these folders in this order-

COMPUTER>HARD DRIVE or C folder>PROGRAM FILES(x86)>ITUNES

When you click on the iTunes folder, make sure you don't click the arrow, but click on the folder itself.

6. Hit okay and save your settings, click apply and exit AVG. When you look at the exceptions on AVG, the itunes directory should look like this C:\Program Files\iTunes\
7. Restart your computer.
8. When you turn it back on, open iTunes, it should go through a little setup process, then iTunes should work.

So I was watching TV, and my younger brother calls me to the computer about an hour ago to check out some kind of threat AVG detected.
At that time, it had only found 2 of the infections (Trojan horse Small.BOG).
Using AVG, I moved the infections to the Virus Vault and then proceeded to delete them. I did successfuly.
However, I am doing a system scan right now using AVG Free, and AVG found 196 Trojan horse Small.BOG's. In fact, the scan is still running as I write.
All the infections are linked to iTunes. Most all the files end in .dll .msi, or .qtr with one .cab.
Since every file is an iTunes file, I beleive that AVG is misdiagnosing these threats, but neither AVG nor iTunes have updated in the past 24 hours.
I googled "Trojan horse Small.BOG" but I got nothing useful. I'm convinced that it is a misdiagnosis, but I'm not going to go ahead and uninstall iTunes, or AVG Free.
Anyone with any information or anything, post here, start up a discussion and grab 2 points while you're at it.
Help is much appreciated.

Is this website have viruses? i thought it was apple.?
mine says that there's some virus (trojen horse...) and that i have to reinstall it, but it wouldn't let me when i tried....

so, today I was about to open my itunes and it said I had to update the software, so I did, and then while it was updating it said some files where missing and some error crap and then my anti virus started popping and saying the new software contained virus and crap! so I stopped it and then I tried to open itunes again and it was the same thing, and it appeared that some files were missing and i had to re install itunes.

So I tried to start up iTunes.
and it tells me that multiple files are missing.
Then my antivirus (AVG) tells me I have 4 trojans, all have been healed. but iTunes won't start up. wants me to reinstall.
so i do. start iTunes up again, and now I have about 100 of these things. in about 5 different files. all but 30 are moved to the virus vault.

the unmoved/unhealed ones still remain.
But these files can't be removed because AVG can't use the specified path, because that path was removed in the reinstallation/fixing of iTunes.
and iTunes can't reinstall because well, i don't know.

Will the iphone 3g have a reduced price?
I have seen varied ebay prices. Works fine, not unlocked, but jailbroken. I need to get a new one, but it'll cost 500, and apple won't repair it because it would cost more than 300 dollars to do so. I want the 3gs,but can only afford the 300. I need to offset costs by selling this one. Any info would be great! Thanks

Hi I have a first generation iPhone that I have had and have loved for about nine months now. In December of 2008 my girlfriend and I both got new iPhone 3Gs and so I had no real need for the first iPhone though I kept it as a spare. However the first iPhone I have and still have wasn't working right. I recently took it to my local apple store and they restored it for me. However after restoring it they said I was to activate it online. While I have an AT&T account it would seem that I cannot have two activated iPhones with the same number and so I am stuck with this unusable iPhone because I cannot activate it. Can anyone help?? I got it on the iphone 3gs release date, and ever since my text messages will take forever for other people to recieve them (or for me to receive them) and its really messing up a lot of my conversations. sometimes they come/go instantly, and other times it can take them up to like 5 hours to send. sometimes they dont come in/go out at all! i get the little "text message sent" thing and the bar goes all the way, its just that my friends are saying that they arnt getting some of my messages, and sometimes i dont get theirs. i am on att (duh) and i had my number ported from vzw (verizon). also, i seem to have the most trouble getting and sending messages to and from verizon people... any help woul be STRONGLY appreciatedm, and please dont just tell me to call att or apple, because i will eventually, i just want to try this first to try to avoid customer service :D thanks!

Okay, I've already gone through 4 iPhone 3Gs. The first one had a dead pixel, the second one had a crack hear the headphone jack, the third one had a dead pixel, and the fourth one had a dead pixel. I brought the fourth one in to the Apple Store today to get a "new" iPhone and this time I inspected the iPhone that they guy pulled out. The one he pulled out had a big red pixel that was stuck, the second one had a barely visible dead pixel and the third one had quite a few dead pixels. I know the guy, since I've been there so many times so I told him that I'd take the second one. I got it, signed the paperwork for the "new" iPhone and I left, when I got home tonight though, I saw the crack, near the headphone jack. I was about to scream! It's a 30 minute drive to the nearest Apple Store. And I've been there way too many times for my iPods and iPhone. So I tried to fill in the crack with white toothpaste and it didn't work. I was so pissed because I had an invisibleSHIELD with me too because I thought that this would be the "perfect" iPhone. So now, I want to know, is there one iPhone 3G without a dead pixel or a crack!? I really want to just get that one perfect iPhone and put it in this invisibleSHIELD. I know that I'm going to have to go to the Apple Store soon and get yet another "new" iPhone 3G. I would like to know why they took the second iPhone I ever had out of the little white box when the iPhone had only been out for 3 days, all they all refurbs? The guy at the store told me that they weren't because they haven't been out long enough, I wonder if the ones in white boxes are all of the iPhones that had a defect and are sent to Apple Stores as replacements.
