I’m always happy when people ask me questions and since I’ve started blogging there were quite a few that had something to tell me, not by leaving a comment, but by emailing me. I was always swift in responding, as I enjoy helping people. But now this happens, which saddens me greatly.

Glyph of Divine Plea and BoSanc STACK as of today’s PTR build.

Saw this post from Galyan where he was talking about Protection Paladin Glyphs and in the comments the dilemma if the two of them stack.

I’ve decided to take the matter in my own hands. So I logged into the PTRs, found a Prot Pala with the Glyph and proceeded to test it.

The method I’ve used it pretty simple: I firstly Judged Wisdom with my helper having only BoSanc on him and did X amount of damage. Then he casted DP and I Judged again, making Y amount of damage. See pictures below for further explanations.

Damage with only BoSanc on himself: 598

Damage with BoSanc and Divine Plea: 580

3% of 598 is 17.94.

Thus, it leads me to firmly say that Glyph of Divine Plea and BoSanc stack.

It’s not yet certain what kind of Glyphs these will be, but they look OK. Let’s take a look.

Glyph of Divine Plea: While Divine Plea is active, you take 3% reduced damage from all sources.

This might not look good in the first place, but Guarded by the Light talent is changed. Does that mean we’ll have 100% uptime on Divine Plea and thus take 3% less damage? Looks yummy. This will be _the_ Glyph to have (also because they are nerfing Spiritual Attunement – boooooooooooooo! and increasing the mana cost of our abilities).

Next Glyph.

Glyph of Hammer of the Righteous: Your Hammer of the Righteous hits 1 additional target.

One additional target is always good. Makes us even powerful in AoE tanking and trash.

So, until now, we get two excellent Glyphs, that might replace some of the useless ones. But what slot will they fit? Major or Minor? I tried to find an Inscriptor on the PTRs that can craft them, but with no success. They weren’t even on the AH. My best guess is that they will fit a Major slot. Please ignore that, I didn’t check wowhead before posting. They fit Major slots.

Right now I’m thinking I’ll run with DP, HotR/SoV and Judgement/Exorcism as Glyphs, depending on the fights. But things may change.

First I was Shadow with him and tried some PvP, saw that there’s no way I could do good in the current state of Shadow Priests in PvP and went Discipline. I sucked at it (call it "lack of gear" but it was really lack of skill) and went Shadow again, but only to do PvE. Did that for a while and loved it. But I went back to Discipline once i got more PvP gear and now I love it even more.

Why am I telling you this? Because two days ago this happened:

For a long time I was missing only Oculus heroic to get the Champion of the Frozen Wastes title, but never really got to do it, especially since I was Disc and not geared enough to heal it.

But that night I got lucky. The guild was looking to do a heroic, I specced Shadow and the results are as you see above. Yes, I spent 100g only for that.

I got 5 Achievements once that last boss was dead, including the title one. Which I’m missing on Tepisor.

You see the irony? The Priest is an Alt, I play him for fun and kicks and still I finished 10-man content earlier than on my main.

Lady Luck just loves me.

Let’s say your name is Tepisor and you play a Protection Paladin. Let’s also assume your character copy over to the PTRs is finally over. You rush to the Paladin trainer to look at the new things and notice dual specs. Your try to purchase the specialization. You realize you only transferred with 188g.

That’s when you are stupid.

How To Tell When You Are Stupid

But my Paladin is my favorite character to play. That’s why it hurts me when I see another Paladin playing bad and giving us a bad name.

I don’t play my Horde characters very much. But when I play them (well, the Hunter mostly) I try and PuG 25-man stuff. Keep in mind that my Horde characters are on the Karazhan server, where I originally started playing as Alliance.

(small note that might turn to be really big: you have no idea how bad is being Alliance on Karazhan. It was bad when I transferred off and I only imagine now is even worst. The ratio is about 4:1 to Horde. According to wowjutsu.com, there is only 1 Alliance guild in the top10, at place 7. Next one is on 14. That’s bad. Really bad. WG on Horde side has constantly 2 full raids while Alliance is running with 10-15 Tenacity buffs. I guess it’s fun up to a point for them, 1-shoting most players.)

So I was playing my Hunter and found a 25-man PuG for Sartharion. We clear the drakes and prepare to face him. That’s when I noticed no one had any Paladin buffs yet. So I politely ask for buffs. I get a Bok and I think to myself “BoK is good, gid moar cuz I suck at huntering and need all the help I can get!”. 10-15 seconds pass, I only had BoK with 3 Paladins in the raid. So I ask again. Nothing. I whisper one of the Paladins and I finally get a BoM. We wait 30 seconds more, hoping the other Paladin notices that he should like buff and stuff, but alas, he didn’t and we started the encounter.

(another small note: even tho I’m really bad at playing a Hunter and I’m also specced MM, I was able to keep 3k DPS by only spamming Steady Shot and hitting Wyvern Sting every CD. Mana was an issues, but thank Blizzard for Aspect of the Viper.)

This whole situation left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I hear many people complain about Paladins and buffing, but I never had any problems before. I don’t use a buffing addon (like PallyPower) but I never miss any buffs. Even if I buff greater blessings and someone needs something else, I’m fast on correcting it.

How hard can it be people? It’s a simple thing to do, that only requires at most 10 seconds of your time, then you can forget about it for 30 minutes. So stop giving Paladins a bad name and buff up already!

Paladins, Stop Sucking

But what are “the good old raiding days”? 40-man raids? I truly admire the capacity to actually gather 40 people and go killing. I think it was a very hard job to do so. We failed at gathering 25 in TBC most of the time and now we seem to fail at actually gathering 10 to do a lousy Naxx run. But I guess that’s highly dependable on your guild. And your guild is highly dependable on your game style and preferences.

So the evolution went from 40 to 25 and now to 10. They made all classes easier to play. They made certain AoE abilities not brake CC (see Avengers Shield). They made 30 minutes Seals (worst addition ever!). They transformed Paladins into Warriors, Warriors into Paladins, Druids into Rogues. They created Death Knights. I only have one sentence to characterize all these changes: dumbing the game.

Don’t get me wrong, certain changes they made we’re really good (see 10-man raiding or single-target taunt for Protection Paladins). But, I’m really afraid they will pass a point when it will stop being challenging. Because right now, they are very near that point.

Ending the rant and getting back to the subject of old content, I have started a solo spree. My first target was Karazhan where I shot a vid on how to solo kill Attumen. I’m still working on the ending touches and I’m pretty happy with the result. You’ll get to see it later this week or the next. I plan to continue soloing my way into Karazhan and see how far I can go. I roughly estimate I can kill 2-3 more but I might need some help to pass certain ones.

I found capturing and editing videos very fun. I plan to document all my solo endevours. Even tho there are many similar vids already out there, it will be a good practice and something to keep me playing for a while more.

This 95-page book contains a lot of important information I wish I knew before the expansion hit. The presentation is impressive, very organized and well worded.

I was very happy to read about the changes introduced in WotLK, conveniently grouped by classes, quests, professions, items, raids, etc. I must admit, some of them were new to me! New abilities and class spells are very well documented. What impressed me right from the start was the PvP section, introducing builds, gear and tips on how to do well in Arenas and Battlegrounds (siege vehicles ftw!)

PvE is not ignored and inside you’ll find a useful presentation of all instances in Wrath of the Lich King, including boss fights and trash detail. Raising the reputation with one faction can be a real pain sometimes but the Unofficial World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Guide comes and helps you with useful information on every faction you will be encountering along your journeys.

Also included in the package there are two 150+ paged leveling guides: one for Alliance and one for Horde. It will tell you where to go, what to do, what to pick up beforehand. Simply put, it is guaranteed to make your leveling a lot faster than before. Both have a section dedicated to the Death Knight starting area and will guide you all the way the Northrend. I bet you’re tired of going through the same areas again, so why not make it in 10 days with the help of this guide?
