The legendary Surface Phone is wide expected to be a novel wrestle what a “phone” really is, and maybe this Lenovo idea tablet is giving us a bit style.

Perhaps a folding “phone which will replace your tablet” may be simply what the doctor ordered, however Lenovo’s Android-powered convertible would possibly simply beat them to the punch. a minimum of until we tend to stumbled on the Lenovo Folio, a versatile tablet that finally works.

It gets turned from tablet to twin show phone, by folding down the middle section. apparently in spite of the actual fact it flexes through the center of the screen, we tend to see no seam or hinge. It’s okay disguised and therefore the tablet itself is fairly slim, for its options.

Lenovo’s “Folio” idea phone offers us a more robust look at however it converts simply from a tablet, into a phone-like device, complete with photography associated an labile user interface.

The device features android 7.0 and uses an e-SIM, the kind of that we haven’t seen in a very long time. If it gets created, comercially we tend to mean, it might find yourself as a part of the Lenovo Yoga device series, or a minimum of that’s my speculation.

There’s a versatile touchscreen within the mix, that expands from 5.5 inches to 7.8 inches and viceversa. within the slate we discover a flower 800 CPU and therefore the device encompasses a 1920 x 1440 pixel display, additionally as a 4.2 mm fold radius and slim edge bonding technology. this idea tablet runs on humanoid, however it's going to conjointly go together with Windows. It’ll be fascinating to ascertain so it's their intention to bring another mobile device to promote.

The construction of a short lived home or another building (for example, a conveyable hospital) alone will become not solely labour-intensive, however additionally expensive. To resolve this downside, a people company 10 Fold Engineering has created a self-deploying structure, that in mere eight minutes turns into a true house. to this point solely a paradigm of such housing is prepared, however within the close to future the project is planned to be place into production.
All have to be compelled to do to the owner is to press the button, and with the assistance of the counterweight system, the rooms of the building begin to unfold (or fold). The developers note, that as shortly because the house turns around, its elements want solely be fastened with an electrical drill.
The area of ??this home is close to 64 M2. It is used for numerous functions, as an example, to equip a conveyable hospital or workplace there.

A variety of “smart” things have flooded the trendy world and makes the lifetime of normal folks slightly easier and additional convenient, however all varieties of wearable electronics is forgotten at home or lost, however the garments to lose is problematic. Therefore, scientists from Harvard University created a “smart” fabric, which might be used for clothing. apparently, no further sensors are designed into the fabric. it's itself “one massive sensor”.

“Smart” fabric is created of a layer of element, that is found between 2 layers of silvery semiconductive tissue. The conduction of silicon is less, than conductivity of silvery fabric, which ends within the formation of a electrical phenomenon sensing element that registers motion by capturing changes within the ability to stay the electrical field charge between the 2 electrodes.

During the tests, the specialists developed a glove. The sensing element recorded each “Fitness indications” and hand movements, showing, even, on what number degrees every finger flexed. per scientists, from such a cloth it's potential to form sports garments and clothes for monitoring patients.

Ukraine has placed the blame for last week's ransomware outbreak on Russia. The allegations came as multiple cybersecurity companies claimed there were links between the so-called NotPetya ransomware and hackers who previously targeted power providers and shut down electricity across the country, most infamously in December 2015 and then again on a smaller scale a year later.

The state security service, the SBU, said Saturday that Russian security services were to blame for the attacks, which infected multiple Ukrainian government agencies, energy companies, transport infrastructure and banks. Though Ukraine was by far the worst affected, major international companies such as drug giant Merck, legal firm DLA Piper and global shipping business Maersk were badly affected, amongst many others.

"The available data, including those obtained in cooperation with international antivirus companies, give us reason to believe that the same hacking groups are involved in the attacks, which in December 2016 attacked the financial system, transport and energy facilities of Ukraine using TeleBots and BlackEnergy," the SBU said. "This testifies to the involvement of the special services of Russian Federation in this attack."

Ukraine has not been shy of blaming Russia for past attacks on its infrastructure. But the SBU's claims were supported by multiple security companies, as researchers claimed the main aim of the malware was to cause disruption, not make financial gain from the ransoms of $300 in Bitcoin per infection as in typical ransomware attacks.

ESET said Friday there were connections between a destructive hacker crew called Telebots, the BlackEnergy malware used in the 2015 power grid attacks and subsequent ransomware outbreaks, including last week's. But the links were largely based on similarities in tools and techniques used by the Telebots crew, rather than any obvious, direct correlation. For instance, both NotPetya and a Telebots ransomware called Xdata, which spread in May, initially infected PCs via rogue updates for a Ukrainian accounting software called MeDoc (the company has denied it was hacked and used to spread malware, though researchers believe that claim to be false). Going further back ESET said there were similarities in malicious code in BlackEnergy and destructive TeleBots' malware.

Anton Cherapanov, ESET security researcher, told Forbes the TeleBots group had conducted similar attacks to NotPetya before -- malware that looked like ransomware, but did not let victims recover their files, even if they paid up. And he believes TeleBots deployed other malware than XData and NotPetya through a malicious MeDoc update. "We are confident that this group is behind [the NotPetya] outbreak in Ukraine," Cherapanov added.

Caution over attribution

Kaspersky's Costin Raiu said he believed ESET's research was sound and that his researchers had found a similarity between NotPetya and the KillDisk wiper malware used in BlackEnergy attacks, namely their targeting of a particular range of file types with certain extensions, such as .doc and .ppt. "However, I think more research is needed to find connections with older BlackEnergy outside the link with MeDoc," Raiu added.

Kaspersky's own report on NotPetya Friday found a slice of code used for checking filenames was similar across BlackEnergy and NotPetya, indicating "certain code design similarities between these malware families." But the researchers also noted that was "a low confidence indicator."

Yet sources told Forbes that American companies, such as FireEye, agreed with ESET's assessment the BlackEnergy power company hackers were the same as those who created NotPetya. FireEye has done extensive research on Telebots, a group it calls Sandworm, tying the hackers to Russian government. According to previous analysis, there's forensic evidence that also connects Sandworm to Electrum, a group that created another malware, called CrashOverride, aimed at energy providers. It shut down power supplies in Kiev in December 2016.

Russia, for its part, has denied Ukraine's accusations, a Kremlin spokesperson complaining to Reuters of "unfounded blanket accusations."

Google still isn’t revealing the actual dessert name they have planned for Android O but live on stage at Google I/O, Android’s Vice President of Engineering Dave Burke took the stage to talk about some of the upcoming release’s biggest features. Their user facing stuff falls under something they’re calling Fluid Experiences.

Picture-in-Picture.

Because traditional multi-window techniques don’t translate too well to mobile devices (they’re clunky, hard to navigate, and not quick enough to enable on-the-go), Google is introducing Picture-in-Picture.

Just like on your TV, videos on YouTube or even specific apps like Maps navigation or Google Duo will automatically be shrunken down into a tiny window when you press the home button. This allows you to still see what’s going on while getting stuff done in other apps.

Notification Dots

Notifications on Android are about to get even better thanks to a feature Google is calling Notification Dots. They essentially work much the same way as Badge Icons on iOS (only they’re not numbered) and place a little dot on an app icon to let you know when you have a notification.

Long pressing the app icon will show you the most recent notification and you can swipe it away in the notification tray to remove it.

Autofill with Google

Autofill now extends into apps themselves, with Google being able to populate text fields — be it passwords, addresses, or anything else — away from the Chrome web browser. For instance, if Google knows your login info on Twitter.com, it can also autofill this info in the Twitter app. It’s opt-in, so you it's up to you to enable it.

Smart Text Selection

Copy & paste is getting supercharged in Android O. It’s now intelligent and can recognize phone numbers, addresses, or even the names of businesses, automatically highlighting them with a long press so you don’t have to fiddle around as much with those tiny handles.

The best part is once highlighted, Smart Text Selection will suggest apps to use to open that information be it Google Maps for addresses, Dialer for a phone number, or Gmail for an email address. Since it’s all done on the device, so no data leaves your phone.

Android O is faster

This was more part of Vitals, Android features that look to keep your phone secure, healthy, and optimized for performance.
Google says they’ve done a ton of stuff behind the scenes to ensure apps are 2x faster than they were in Nougat. This is thanks to extensive changes they’ve done to Android’s runtime.
What’s more, you’ll see boot times have also been vastly improved, so when it comes time to perform a reboot, you’ll be back and inside the OS in no time.

Google Play Protect

Another Vitals feature found in Android O is Google Play Protect. It’s an app that essentially scans the applications installed on your device for malicious code or abnormal behavior. Looks like there’s no more need for Lookout or other “antivirus” apps.
Android Device Manager has also been renamed “Find My Device” (which makes way more sense) and is a part of Android’s Google Play Protect program. With security being such a huge issue in Android, it’s yet another way Google is ensuring all your data is safe and secure.

And more

Google briefly mentioned Project Treble (which they actually announced last week) to speed up the process of Android updates for their hardware partners, downloadable fonts, and newly redesigned emoji, settings, and more to be revealed.

Android O will be available later this summer but you can enroll and test drive the beta by going to Android.com/beta.

Your once snappy Chrome browser is dragging, and you don’t know why. Do you blame Google, and switch to another browser to feel that new-browser smell once again? Not so fast! A browser reset is much less of a hassle, and will fix all kinds of issues—without deleting all your bookmarks and other data.

What a Browser Reset Does

Fresh out of the box, Chrome is actually a ridiculously snappy browser. Over time, however, you may notice that your experience with Chrome changes, and lightning fast turns into sort of fast which eventually turns into a slow sluggish experience. Sometime that slow sluggish experience even includes browser crashes and phantom problems like a malfunctioning search bar.

This isn’t necessarily Chrome’s fault. If you’ve been using Chrome for any period of time, you’ve likely accumulated quite a pile of extensions, cookies, site data, and other bits and pieces. While generally cookies and cached data make your browsing experience faster, extensions can weigh Chrome down quite a bit, and problems with your cookies and cached data can cause site errors, browser errors, and other problems. You might have even have ended up with a hijacked browser somewhere along the line when a malicious site tampered with settings.

You could go through all of Chrome’s different features one-by-one, attempting to optimize it for speed, but there’s also a super simple way to get back to a clean slate without the hassle of totally uninstalling Chrome and reinstalling it: a browser reset. When you reset Chrome, the following things happen:

Your in-browser search engine is reset to the default, Google.com.

Your homepage and default startup tabs are reset.

You new tab page settings are reset.

Pinned tabs are erased.

Content settings (like which sites you’ve given access to your webcam or allowed popups from) are erased.

All cookies and site data are erased.

All extensions and themes, save for the default ones, are disabled (but not deleted).

Everything else, like your bookmarks, browser history, and saved passwords will be preserved with your Chrome user profile. What does this mean in real world use? Let’s use a site like Instapaper as a simple example: after a reset Chrome, your Instapaper login cookie will be gone, so you’ll need to log back into the site, the browser extension will be disabled (so you’ll have to go into the Settings menu to turn it back on), and if you have an Instapaper bookmarklet in your toolbar, it’ll still be sitting there because bookmarks are untouched. Any news articles you visited to clip into your Instapaper account, likewise, will still be in your browser history.

Those kind of minor inconveniences are more than worth it, however, because you’ll find that Chrome is lightning fast again when all the bloat is gone.

How to Reset Chrome

If that sounds like a detox session you’d like to sign up for, resetting Chrome is easy. Just click on the menu button in the upper right corner and select “Settings”

At the bottom of the Settings page, click on “Show advanced settings”.

Scroll way down through the now greatly expanded settings options until you reach the bottom. There, click on “Reset settings”.

Finally, you’ll be prompted to confirm the reset.

After the reset, Chrome will be out-of-the-box fast again thanks to all that purged dead weight. What happens next is on you though! Resist the urge to go into the Extensions menu and just flip your 1,001 extensions immediately back on. Instead, turn them on only as you need them and, in the case of rarely used extensions like bulk image downloaders or plugins that you use to compare prices during quarterly Steam game sales, turn them back off when you’re not using them.

Although a reset is great for dumping the clutter and dealing with an extension addiction, there are times that resetting your browser may not alleviate your speed issues or erratic behavior. If you’ve reset Chrome and are still experiencing issues, we highly recommend you download the official Google Chrome Cleanup Tool here and run it, to weed out any adware and garbage a regular reset was unable to remove.

Windows 8 and 10’s advanced startup tools function differently than the tools on previous versions of Windows. If your Windows 8 or 10 system can’t boot properly, the tools will appear automatically so you can fix the problem.

We’ve covered several ways to access the advanced startup options if your PC is working properly, including through the PC settings application. You can also create a recovery drive to ensure you’ll always be able to access these options.

Choose an option

Once you’ve accessed the advanced startup options, you’ll need to click (or tap) the Troubleshoot option to access the troubleshooting and repair options. The Continue and Turn off your PC options will continue booting to Windows (assuming there isn’t a problem) or power off your computer.

Troubleshoot

The Troubleshoot screen provides easy access to the Refresh and Reset your PC options. This is particularly useful if you want to refresh or reset your PC, but can’t get into Windows.

Refresh your PC: Refreshing your PC restores its system software to its factory state without deleting your files or installed Modern apps. However, any installed desktop apps will be removed.

Reset your PC: Resetting your PC (not to be confused with rebooting your PC) resets it to its factory state. Any personal files and settings on your computer will be deleted.

If you just want to fix your computer and you’re not sure which option to pick, try Refreshing your PC so you don’t lose all your files.

For more advanced troubleshooting and repair tools, click (or tap) Advanced options.

Advanced options

The Advanced options screen holds the advanced troubleshooting and repair options.

System Restore: Restore your computer to an earlier restore point. This is the same as using System Restore within Windows. However, if Windows 8 can’t boot, it may boot properly after you restore your PC to a working state.

System Image Recovery: Restore your computer using a system image file. The system image overwrites your computer’s state and files. You’ll need to use Windows 7’s backup tools in Windows 8 to create a system image.

Automatic Repair: Try to automatically repair issues that can prevent Windows from booting properly. If your computer can’t boot into Windows, this option is worth a try.

Command Prompt: Open a Recovery Environment Command Prompt. This will allow you to run a variety of commands to troubleshoot and fix your computer. This option should only be used by advanced users who know what they’re doing.

Startup Settings: The Startup Settings option allows you to modify a number of startup options. For example, you can enable Safe Mode from here. You can also disable automatic restart after failure – this option will allow you to see the error message if your PC is constantly blue-screening and rebooting.

The advanced options here may allow you to fix the problem – the Automatic Repair option is particularly useful, and the System Restore or Safe Mode options may help you boot your computer. If none of these options work, you’ll need to perform a refresh (or a full reset.)

The power bank has become an essential gadget for many of us as our gadgets get more powerful and more power hungry with each new generation. However the power bank is only useful if you have it with you. Most power banks are bulky and heavy and unless you are sure that you need one, you won’t carry one along. The designers of the LithiumCard is well aware of this limitation of the power bank and have decided to come up with a power bank design that is extremely portable and fits in your wallet but yet pack a 1200 mAh rechargeable battery.

Of course, the LithiumCard is not the first extremely portable power bank to come along. We have featured the key-chain sized Morphie Juice Pack Reserve and the credit card sized PowerCard on TheTechZone. However, the Juice Pack Reserve only has a 750 mAh battery and the PowerCard has an even smaller 500 mAh battery. Alternatively, there is the 2,100 mAh Juice Pak Plus that incorporates the power bank as part of the phone casing but this does add significantly more bulk to the phone.

The LithiumCard on the other hand is a nice compromise between the 2 types of portable chargers. It has a significantly larger 1,200 mAh battery that should give almost a full charge on most phones but yet at the same time, it is small enough to fit in your wallet. It measures 54 x 86 mm which is about the size of a credit card and a thickness of 5.5 mm which is about 5 credit cards thick. Granted, it is thicker than the PowerCard but the LithiumCard offers much more charging power for slightly more bulk.
The LithiumCard also works as a pass through cable allowing you to charge your phone and the LithiumCard at the same time. The charger’s high 2.1 A lets you charge much faster compared with the more common 1 A chargers. Depending on the actual phone, it can charge as fast as 1% per minute.

Another feature of the LithiumCard is that it does not require any additional cables. Both the micro USB cable for connecting to your device and the USB connector used for charging the LithiumCard itself are built into the charger itself. Quite an amazing feat considering the size of the charger. For iOS device users, the LithiumCard also comes in a Lightning connector version.

When the whole world is anticipating the release of the iPhone 8, a few die hard loyal customers are already spreading rumors about its design. While surfing the internet, these are the most plausible iPhone 8 rumors on the internet that literally made my jaw drop, sounds quite believable as well or maybe I am too gullible.

AN ENORMOUS SCREEN DISPLAY

The latest iPhone 8 is likely to have an enormous screen having OLED display, according to the GSMArena. And Apple has already agreed to purchase 60 million OLED displays from Samsung. OLED displays are more efficient with the optimum level of brightness, color, and texture suitable for the eyesight.

THE FRONT SCREEN WILL BE ALL DISPLAY

Rumors include having a full-screen display without any borders as per the Apple blogger and podcaster, John Gruber. This will surely make the latest iPhone 8 more appealing with one large display screen.

Inversea

ALUMINUM FRAME AND GLASS BODY

I came across a Japanese news portal called Nikkei, which stated Apple is going to get rid of its usual metal design and consider full glass body with an aluminum frame instead.
After reading this, it made me recall how aesthetic iPhone 4 and 4S look with glass back.

NO HOME BUTTON

There’s a high possibility for the iPhone 8 to having an optical sensor in its Touch ID button. The sensors have the ability to sense fingerprint through its display. Even John Gruber supported this possibility, saying the home button will remain covered underneath the glass panel with the touch bar of Macbook Pro.

WIRELESS CHARGING CAPACITY

That’s right; the iPhone 8 will no longer require any charging cable, as mentioned in a speech by the president of Sharp, Tai Jeng-Wu.

According to an Apple’s spokesperson who talked about Apple joining hands with Wireless Power Consortium, a company specializing in making wireless chargers. Even if it doesn’t really confirm iPhone 8 having wireless charging feature, it surely implies about Apple’s expansion into wireless power technology.

Choetech

These are the 5 most plausible iPhone 8 rumors that surely raised my eyebrows. There are plenty of other rumors already; therefore, we can only wait to find out more till it actually comes out. Stay with TTZ for further news about Apple Inc.

Razer is giving its greatest gaming portable PC a Kaby Lake entry and a huge number moves up to make it the main THX-ensured gaming laptop which is called Razor Blade Pro . THX has brought its sound-and picture-tuning ability to make the new 17-inch Razer Blade Pro a studio-review machine for editing movies and delivering media.

On the sound front, you can expect picture tuning quality sound with low-bending and small murmuring when you pump up the volume. Thus, the 4K show now accompanies a THX-confirmed shading profile that meets all the studio prerequisites for pinnacle splendor, shading extent and dark levels. Well Razor Blade Pro is mainly focused on studio quality than the gaming purpose here though the quality material of the processor and other specs is quite promising for powerhouse gaming.
Regarding equipment, the new Razer Blade Pro comes furnished with another seventh generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor, and magnificently faster memory clocks peed at 2,667MHz. Something else, the 17-inch gaming still comes furnished with a Nvidia GTX 1080 and SSD storage limit starting from 512GB.
The new Razer Blade Pro will be accessible on March 28 beginning at $3,999 or £3,799 (about AU$5,250) – which is sadly a genuine tick up from its predecessor’s $3,699 or £3,499 (about AU$4,850) tagged price.

Previously also had the concept of circular phones, but it’s new and exciting. The format of the 2016 handset is pretty much set in stone and the game changing won’t come from a circular device. But that is very sympathetic.

This circular iPhone concept can may would work excellently as both a phone and something with a belt to use as a watch. The device is slim, has a metal body and seems to display apps in a cross pattern, rather than a floating cloud, like on the Apple Watch, which would work better on this format.

Sometimes this handset feels a bit like a badge to wear on your clothes or pin to a backpack.
The port and speakers at the “bottom” look interesting. But then again, were strange devices. People have been using banana shaped phones and hamburger shaped house phones indoors for years now. And apparently people consider Salvador Dali’s lobster phone art…

Although BlackBerry has pretty much given up on smartphones, but can see some interesting designs from BB’s partners. Such as, the BlackBerry concept below, envisioned by Faruk Kaya.

Made with Autodesk Maya, the concept phone is very slim and also very rounded. There is rounded phones, but this is certainly more curvaceous than that. It’s got a very interesting placement of the buttons, with one at the top and two on the sides. In that small thingie at the bottom can be guessing a port, but you never know these days, with devices going all wireless and stuff.

The designer doesn’t quite detail this BlackBerry concept phone, but ,think to we’re dealing with a metallic device, with a transparent case element and a pretty compact body. It’s got a virtual Assistant at is core and at least one speaker at the bottom. Sadly we have no view of the device’s back, but can be guessing there’s a pretty flat camera at the back, so she won’t spoil the format of the device. Not exactly the typical BlackBerry, but then again BB is far from typical these days.

Majors related to computers, math and engineering pay college graduates the highest, according to an analysis by Glassdoor. This contradicts the doom and gloom from some lawmakers who, in their effort to argue against immigration, have at times wrongly discouraged Americans from entering science and technology fields.

Source: Glassdoor.

“A college degree has become an essential stepping stone to landing a great first job,” notes Glassdoor. “Through an analysis of hundreds of thousands of resumes and corresponding salary reports, Glassdoor has determined which majors pay the most during the first five years out of college.”

The data could not be clearer: Go tech. Computer science is the highest paying major, with a median base salary 5 years out of college of $70,000. That does not include bonuses or other forms of compensation and salaries vary by area. Second on the list is electrical engineering, with a median base salary of $68,438. Third and fourth places on the list are mechanical engineering and chemical engineering, with respective median base salaries of $68,000 and $65,000.

Industrial engineering ($64,381 median base salary) is the 5th highest paying major, followed by information technology ($64,008), civil engineering ($61,500), statistics ($60,000), nursing ($58,928) and management information systems ($58,000).

Note that 9 of the 10 highest paying majors are in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), with nursing the only exception. The salaries illustrate the demand for talent in STEM fields relative to other majors.

The Glassdoor analysis is consistent with calculations available on the website Launch My Career Colorado, a web-based tool endorsed by the state of Colorado. That website shows degrees in computer science and electrical engineering have the highest “return on investment” (ROI) of any degrees other than a degree in petroleum engineering.

A degree in computer science at UC-Boulder would bring a return on investment of $875,930, while a degree in psychology at UC-Boulder would bring a return on investment of only $131,154. Return on investment is “the estimated additional income during the next 20 years earned by a college graduate over and above the earnings of a high school graduate.”

Some have argued that government statistics show young Americans are not able to get jobs in science and technology fields. However, such arguments rely on a federal government definition of a STEM “occupation” that is narrow and fails to count millions of people who work in jobs that use their science and engineering (S&E) degrees. For example, a professor of physics would not count as working in a STEM occupation but instead would be listed in Census data as a postsecondary teacher. An engineer promoted to management no longer counts as working in a STEM occupation. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, is considered not to be working in a STEM occupation.

“According to the 2013 National Survey of College Graduates (NSCG), nearly 17.7 million college graduates reported that their jobs required at least this level of technical expertise in one or more S&E fields; this figure is almost three times as large as the nearly 6 million college graduates employed in S&E occupations,” explains the National Science Foundation’s Science and Engineering Indicators 2016.

In other words, nearly 12 million people with a STEM degree are not classified by the federal government as working in a STEM occupation but report “their jobs required at least this level of technical expertise in one or more S&E fields.”

The good news today is that young Americans with the ability to major in computer science, electrical engineering and other technology-related fields are doing well. The Glassdoor analysis shows such young Americans should continue to follow their dreams.

Here's some bad news for Android users again.

Nearly 3 Million Android devices worldwide are vulnerable to man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks that could allow attackers to remotely execute arbitrary code with root privileges, turning over full control of the devices to hackers.

According to a new report from security rating firm BitSight, the issue is due to a vulnerability in the insecure implementation of the OTA (Over-the-Air) update mechanism used by certain low-cost Android devices, including BLU Studio G from US-based Best Buy.

Backdoor/Rootkit Comes Pre-installed

The vulnerable OTA mechanism, which is associated with Chinese mobile firm Ragentek Group, contains a hidden binary — resides as /system/bin/debugs — that runs with root privileges and communicates over unencrypted channels with three hosts.

According to the researchers, this privileged binary not only exposes user-specific information to MITM attackers but also acts as a rootkit, potentially allowing attackers to remotely execute arbitrary commands on affected devices as a privileged user.

"Additionally, there are multiple techniques used to hide the execution of this binary. This behavior could be described as a rootkit," the CERT advisory associated with this vulnerability warned on Thursday.

Similar to the flaw discovered in Android devices running firmware from Shanghai ADUPS Technology, the newly discovered flaw (designated CVE-2016-6564) also resides in the firmware developed by a Chinese company.

While the AdUps firmware was caught stealing user and device information, the Ragentek firmware neither encrypt the communications sent and received to smartphones nor rely on code-signing to validate legitimate apps.

This blunder could allow a remote attacker to extract personal information from an affected device, remotely wiping the whole device, and even make it possible to gain access to other systems on a corporate network and steal sensitive data.

Affected Android Devices

The vulnerability has been found in multiple smartphone handsets from BLU Products, along with over a dozen devices from other vendors. The list of affected Android handsets includes:

BLU Studio G BLU Studio G Plus
    BLU Studio 6.0 HD
    BLU Studio X
    BLU Studio X Plus
    BLU Studio C HD
    Infinix Hot X507
    Infinix Hot 2 X510
    Infinix Zero X506
    Infinix Zero 2 X509
    DOOGEE Voyager 2 DG310
    LEAGOO Lead 5
    LEAGOO Lead 6
    LEAGOO Lead 3i
    LEAGOO Lead 2S
    LEAGOO Alfa 6
    IKU Colorful K45i
    Beeline Pro 2
    XOLO Cube 5.0

While analyzing the flaw, AnubisNetworks found that the device, a BLU Studio G, attempted to contact three pre-configured Internet domains, two of which remained unregistered despite being hardwired into the Ragentek firmware that introduced the bug.

"This OTA binary was distributed with a set of domains preconfigured in the software. Only one of these domains was registered at the time of the discovery of this issue," BitSight's subsidiary company Anubis Networks says in its report published Thursday.

"If an adversary had noticed this, and registered these two domains, they would’ve instantly had access to perform arbitrary attacks on almost 3,000,000 devices without the need to perform a man-in-the-middle attack."

After the discovery, AnubisNetworks researchers registered the addresses and now controls those two extraneous domains to this day in an attempt to prevent such attacks from occurring in the future.

Around 3 Million Devices contain Dangerous Rootkit

Still, the impact was significant. The researchers were able to exploit the backdoor in the BLU Studio G phone, which allowed them to install a file in the location that's reserved for apps with all-powerful system privileges.

However, by observing the data smartphones sent when connecting to the two domains registered by BitSight, the researchers have cataloged 55 known device models that are affected.

"We have observed over 2.8 Million distinct devices, across roughly 55 reported device models, which have checked into our sinkholes since we registered the extraneous domains," the report reads.

"In some cases, we have not been [able] to translate the provided device model into a reference to the real-world device."

So far, only BLU Products has issued a software update to address the vulnerability, though BitSight researchers haven't yet tested the patch to analyze its effectiveness. However, the remaining Android devices might still be affected.

For more technical details about the vulnerability, you can head on to full report published by BitSight's AnubisNetworks.

This is the second case in a single week when researchers have warned you of Android smartphones coming pre-installed with backdoors that not only send massive amounts of your personal data to Chinese servers, but also allow hackers to take control of your device.

Cyber criminals are using Facebook messenger to spread Locky ransomware via images.

Researcher Bart Blaze discovered the attack which uses .SVG image file to deliver the malware. SVG images are being used because the criminals can contain embedded content and be opened in browsers.

Clicking on the image redirects the victim to a fake YouTube site. Once there, the site would prompt users to download and install a codec extension in Google Chrome in order to view the video.

The SVG image contains a Nemucod downloader which in some cases carries the Locky ransomware. However, Google and Facebook have been made aware of the scam.

If the victim installed the extention, it will show as two names, Ubo and One. In order to remove the extention, just go to Menu ? More Tools ? Extensions and check for the extension and remove it.

However, if you become the victim of ransomware, your only choice is to use a backup of your files, otherwise you are screwed.

Researchers advise: "As always, be wary when someone sends you just an 'image' – especially when it is not how he or she would usually behave."
Current subscribers have a brand new thanks to access PS Now’s library of over 400 games, and therefore the pc app provides a "new approach for even additional gamers to get and play the service".

Sony recommends the subsequent specs for running PlayStation now on Windows PC:

Windows 7 (SP1), 8.1 or 10

3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster

300 MB or more; 2 GB or more of RAM

In addition, Sony proclaimed a brand new device, the DualShock 4 USB Wireless adapter, which will launch "in early September" for a advised retail value of $24.99 ($29.99 CAD). The adapter can allow you to connect a DualShock 4 to a pc and mac wirelessly, and can change each feature of the controller you're accustomed from the console: buttons, analog sticks, touch pad, light bar, motion sensors, vibration, and stereo receiver jack – as long as the gaming application supports these features. sadly, it solely permits for one controller to be wirelessly connected at a time.

The DualShock 4 USB Wireless adapter could be a nice companion for PS now on a pc, however you'll conjointly use it for PS4 Remote Play on pc and macintosh. If you haven’t nonetheless downloaded Remote Play on your pc or macintosh, grab the installer here. However, Sony does suggests that the USB Wireless adapter isn’t needed, as you'll connect a DualShock 4 using a USB cable.

Just 2 days once it initial began to roll out, Google's duo has already become the number one free app within the Play Store. The video chatting app, that received an icon redesign simply before it went live, has proved to be very popular with android users. additionally, it's currently attainable to use duo in any country (well, any country that Google provides its services to).

In the Play Store's "Top Free in android Apps" chart, duo presently sits within the top spot, ahead of alternative free apps like Facebook messenger, Pokémon Go (is that also a thing?), Facebook (for God's sake, fix your android app), Snapchat (code it properly, dammit), YouTube Music, and Instagram. It's entirely attainable that this is often simply a brief surge, however it's nice to check that folks are demonstrating interest without delay.

Although folks in countries other than the US and Canada were originally unable to verify their phone numbers through SMS, that is been fixed. Support for a lot of countries bit by bit extended over the past 2 days, however the worldwide rollout has just finished. Now, anyone with an android device running 4.1+ will get pleasure from Google's new video chatting app, in spite of their location.

Designers speculate about what Apple's self-driving vehicle might look like as it's revealed computer giant IS working on the technology

Eye-catching, sleek, incorporating Apple's trademark sleek design, these are what the world's graphic designers believe an iCar could look like.

Refuelling rumours the tech giant's next big project is to bring a self-driving car to market, documents obtained by the Guardian say the company is searching for a location to test the autonomous vehicles to rival designs already manufactured by Google.

In May, engineers met with officials from GoMentum Station, a 2,100-acre former naval base near San Francisco, in a bid to set up a high-security site.

One designer's vision is of a semi-autonomous electric car in the minimalist tradition of Apple design, features external LED screens at the front and back with a discreet hatch and doors that open laterally

Typically secretive, the company - who recently launched the Apple Watch - have yet to confirm or deny the rumours - but that hasn't stopped Apple fans speculating and imagining what it could look like.

In a correspondence obtained by the newspaper through a public records request, Apple engineer Frank Fearon wrote: 'We would ... like to get an understanding of timing and availability for the space, and how we would need to coordinate around other parties who would be using [it].'

This designer created a futuristic car, dubbed the Titan electric car, on Cinema 4D and added in a salt flat scene in the background

The company did not confirm whether this was the case while others involved in the deal would not shed further light on the details.
'We don't know. They haven't said what they want to test. It could be an iPhone,' joked Jack Hall, program manager for connected vehicles and autonomous vehicles at GoMentum Station, which is operated by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority.

Focusing on Apple love of incorporating a stylish design with functionality, this concept is sleek with very little protruding from the body

The agency is promoting a portion of the former Concord Naval Weapons Station as an ideal testing facility for carmakers and tech companies working on automotive technology.

'It's got all the infrastructure of a city,' Hall said of the facility. 'There are buildings, streets and intersections, but no people.'

One designer's concept for Titan, which is what Apple's project is rumoured to be called, is 'futuristic, but still doable by 2010,' he said

The 5,000-acre site has 20 miles of paved roads, including overpasses, tunnels and railroad crossings, according to the agency's website, which calls it 'the largest secure test facility in the world.' Another 7,600 acres of the former navy base is now used as a shipping terminal by the U.S. Army.
GoMentum Station already has an agreement with Honda, which plans to test automated vehicle systems there.

Hall said his agency hopes to partner with other companies for testing self-driving cars and 'connected vehicles' — cars that use the Internet and local networks to exchange a variety of information with other devices and vehicles.

This innovative designer says the driver can just slide their key over the Apple logo and the front glass panel of the three-seater car will open up for entry

Apple has 'shown interest' in the facility but has not reached any agreement for testing there, Hall said. Company representatives have not actually visited yet, he said.

The Guardian also quoted another official at the transportation authority who said Apple insisted on a non-disclosure agreement which barred him from saying any more.
A number of automakers and tech companies, including Google, are working on new designs for autonomous and electric-powered vehicles.

This creative designer embellished his curved iCar concept with Apple logos on the front and on all the car seats

In February, The Wall Street Journal cited unnamed sources who said Apple is working on designs for an electric vehicle to be sold under the Apple brand. Analysts say Apple has the financial wherewithal and ambition to pursue such a project, although some believe it's more likely interested in developing software for use in cars made by other companies.

This graphic designer thinks the iCar could be a sports utility vehicle, which he designed in red using aluminium for the front

Other evidence of Apple's interest in cars has surfaced in recent months, including a lawsuit in which a Massachusetts startup working on electric car batteries accused Apple of poaching some of its engineers. The lawsuit has since been settled.

Nintendo plus Smartphone exists solely within the type of three-dimensional renderings, however in terms of production it's quite doable to place on stream, even with its uncommon type issue – is both a horizontal clamshell, and a facet slider and rotator.

The Wireless Glass Keyboard sounds like it'll match right in into the flick set of subsequent Star Trek flick or any futuristic sci-fi flick. Or a minimum of in an exceedingly flick setting wherever they still use a keyboard rather than wildly gesturing within the air. it should not be the foremost sensible of keyboards however that doesn’t stop U.S.A. from drooling over it.

This futuristic wanting keyboard is completely clear with the keys of the keyboard written on its surface. it's slightly sensitive surface. meaning that there aren't any clickable keys. of course writing on the Wireless Glass Keyboard feels loads like writing on a pill screen. Except that the writing surface is larger. concerning the scale of associate degree actual keyboard. For all you bit typists out there, move along. there's nothing for you to ascertain here.

The keyboard uses Bluetooth and has support for iOS, Android, Windows and macintosh OS X devices. once paired to a portable computer, the keyboard surface will even perform as slightly pad. it's a inbuilt rechargeable battery that charges via USB.

While a glass keyboard without physical keys might not be ideal for everybody, it's one large advantage. cleansing the keyboard is as straightforward as giving it a fast wipe with a wet piece of material.

Modern crutches are still below a century recent, and dozens of
designers have taken a stab at up them. however whereas most tries area
unit variations on a well-recognized theme, one entry to James Dyson
Foundation's annual Dyson Award proposes an answer that improves on even the most effective recent alternatives.

Behzad Rashidi could be a 27-year-old Ontario-based industrial designer whose student project, Sit & Stand,
is being featured by Dyson in concert of the standout entries. The
device is fairly simple: instead of a crutch that depends in your higher
body to support the load of your leg, Rashidi designed a tool that
merely hangs the load of your calf on your quad muscles, because of a
network that spreads the load over the whole backside of your thigh.
meaning you are able to take a seat whereas carrying it—an valuable
feature throughout an extended recovery.

"It all started as a class project," explains Rashidi in his brief. "The challenge was to design a crutch which performs better than traditional forearm and underarm crutches for young adults with temporary leg injuries."

He designed the prototype and then submitted it to the Dyson Award, which asks industrial designers and engineers to do something very simple: Design something that solves a problem. Last year, the winner was an upper-body exoskeleton designed to improve the functional capacity of the wearer. This year, it seems many of the entries are similarly suited to improving the abilities of humans using clever engineering.

Other recent crutch styles, like iWalk,
have taken the same tack to design—but most of them pull the scraped
leg up at the knee that means that the user cannot sit down whereas
carrying it, and golf stroke spare pressure on the knee.

Rashidi's
plan created a vital tweak: Pull the knee up before of the user
employing a broad, cushiony piece of plastic, that self-adjusts because
of an easy hinge system. That support additionally acts as a seat: once
the user slouches back, the hinge adjusts to support their weight. the
worth of a functioning seat, for somebody sick from a severe injury, is
obvious.

Right now, there isn't any thanks to tell if Rashidi or one among the
other—very plentiful—smart entries can secure a number of the $150,000
in funding that Dyson can award to the winners. We'll apprehend a lot of
on Sep eighteenth, once the national winners and therefore the
finalists for the general competition are going to be declared. Until
then, what does one think? is that this the crutch different that will
have created your life 1,000 times easier that point you twisted your
ankle?

With simply days before the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 official unveiling, a brand new leak currently reveals the reputed unleash date for Europe.

The Galaxy Note 7 is ready to debut on Aug. 2, and former rumors have advised that it'd endure sale on an equivalent day. that will apply solely to Samsung's home market of South Korea, however, with different markets to urge the device shortly.

New data currently indicates that the ecu unleash date for the Galaxy Note a pair of are on Aug. 16, that is 2 weeks when the Aug. a pair of unveiling. whereas we tend to cannot vouch for the accuracy and credibility of this leak, an Aug. 16 industrial unleash wouldn't be too unlikely. OEMs usually take a short while to start out commerce a tool when the revealing, and time period wouldn't be that long of a wait.

The tip comes from a Dutch publication and refers to the reputed unleash date for the Galaxy Note 7 within the Kingdom of The Netherlands. withal, if it seems to be correct, it'd probably apply to any or all European markets wherever the Galaxy Note 7 can endure sale.

Moreover, it looks that solely 2 of the 3 Galaxy Note 7 color choices are offered at launch, particularly black and silver. The blue variant can reportedly arrive shortly.

When it involves the worth of the French telephone in Europe, school Times antecedently reported that the Galaxy Note seven could also be the foremost pricey Note so far, beginning at €849 for the bottom model, that is anticipated to pack 64 GB of native cupboard space. that may translate to regarding $950 supported current exchange rates, and also the value would go up for configurations with higher storage capability.

In the u. s., meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 7 might still hit retail on Aug. 2. T-Mobile is reportedly among the primary U.S. carriers to urge on board with the coming flagship phablet, because it is anticipated to start out taking preorders for the Galaxy Note 7 as shortly as next week.

Based on the varied leaks and rumors to this point, it looks that Samsung can unveil the Galaxy Note 7 on Aug. a pair of and unleash it on an equivalent date in some markets, presumably together with the U.S., whereas different markets can need to wait till Aug. 16.
