There are ways for you to boost your metabolism without having to resort to expensive shakes and pills. Some of these products are actually placebo and will do nothing for your weight. If they do work, you’ll be experiencing some form of health problems because you are losing weight at an unnatural rate and in an unnatural way. These tips will help you increase your metabolic rate naturally without having to worry about serious side effects.

Always start your day with a meal – you have been told time and time again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and with good reason. Your metabolism is already in hibernation for 6-8 hours while you sleep. Eating breakfast will help jump start your metabolism and supply your body with needed energy.

Water – water is the most important element in the body. As much as 8 glasses of water is required in order for the numerous metabolic processes in your body to work. The colder the water, the better.

Spices – curry, chili peppers, and cinnamon, all of them can give an extra boost in stimulating your metabolism after a meal. You are already expending energy digesting food, and these spices can jack up your system even more.

30-minute walks – take advantage of a beautiful day and walk for 30 minutes. This is far more enjoyable than lying on the couch cruising through TV channels.

Eat small, but frequently – instead of eating 3 full meals a day, why not try taking small meals every 2 hours? Your body is already exerting energy digesting food, and taking small, frequent meals will be a definite way to prevent you from craving foods that provide empty calories.

These are simple ways to help your body increase its metabolic rate. Do note that doing just one of them will not help you get the boost that you need for weight loss. All of these tips must be incorporated with each other in a proper balance so that you will be able to lose weight naturally and safely.

Written by: Mira

This article on alternative picnic ideas is just the thing for those who are concerned about healthy food and would not like to make a dietary sacrifice for the outdoor party. A picnic may not necessarily mean “forget about your diet for the day”. Picnic recipes may sound also as diet picnic food recipes – and it all will be true. Read on and you will discover useful, healthy, and new picnic ideas.
First of all here are five golden tips for your diet picnic food recipes:

Stuff flat bread (lavash) or pitta with slices of simmered lean beef, pork, tuna or prawns instead of fat ham and cheese topped with mayonnaise.

You do not need meat pies as well as other pastry types like quiche and flans.

Take a box of small portions of many different fruits, berries, citrus (lemons, oranges)

Prepare a box of chopped veggies and cherry tomatoes. You will have it with a low calorie dip that will substitute the traditional picnic crisps for you.

Instead of pancakes and biscuits, have dried fruits. A small piece of chocolate will do no harm.

Tuna with Dried Tomatoes The recipe is easy and fast to make (10 minutes) and serves for 4 persons. Why we have selected a tuna recipe? This sort of fish has fatty acids and protein that are very positive for human organism.

Ingredients:

1 tbsp of red onion

8 slices of bread (whole-grained) or flat bread

4 leaves of lettuce (preferably red)

1 cucumber

salt and pepper

Instructions:

Forget the Gimmicks!

How many infomercials do you see that offer the latest and greatest gadgets that are guaranteed to give you those rock hard abs that everyone wants to have? Sure, all of these gadgets look like they would be terrific but really they are not necessary. In fact, you really don’t need to bother with any sort of equipment at all. The real key to getting rock hard abs is to do certain exercises such as crunches, eat a healthy diet and make sure that you lower your body fat.

You Still Need to Exercise

Just because it is not the most important part of getting firm abs, it is still important for all of us to exercise to stay healthy and in good shape. Exercising will help to firm the abs, once you are at a decent body weight (and the exercises will help you lose that weight too). If you need to lose a bit of weight before you can start working on tightening those abs, you should consult with your physician to find the best weight loss system for you. If you have any health conditions, there may be certain dietary and exercise restrictions that you will have to take into consideration when planning your diet and exercise program.

Once you get the okay from your doctor, you can start making the changes to your diet and exercising. Some of the best exercises to do to tighten those ab muscles are crunches and there are many different variations of this exercise. If you are just getting into exercising, you should stick with the easiest type of crunches at first, lying on the floor with your hands either folded across your chest, or clasped behind your head. As your fitness level improves, you can make your crunches more difficult by using weights and an exercise ball.

Healthy Diet Is Essential

We all should be following a healthy diet, no matter if we are trying to get rock hard abs, lose weight, or just feel better. According to the American Heart Association, as well as a number of other health organizations, a diet for a typical adult should consist of 50% carbohydrates, 15% fats and 35% proteins, all of which can be found in healthy, delicious foods. If necessary, you can also add supplements to your diet, which are a great help, especially if you are someone who tends to skip some meals. Following a healthy, well-balanced diet and doing the right exercises will ensure that you get the rock hard abs you have always wanted.
I stumbled upon the practice of contrast showers a few days ago. To put it dramatically: It has changed everything! Contrast showers are a type of hydrotherapy. The only thing this practice consists of is alternating between hot and cold water in the shower. I know. When I first heard about it I said, "No one is going to get my black tale into a cold shower!" However, since I claim to have an open mind, I had to try it. The cold water isn't so bad when you are expecting it. When you are done, you feel totally renewed and refreshed.

There is actually a reason you feel this way.

Quote: "Higher temperature dilates the vessels and encourages the flow of lymph and blood. As the result, toxins can be eliminated in areas where the circulation of these fluids had been sluggish. Heat also boosts body functions such as our metabolism and heart rate, and subsequently stimulates our body processes, and thus enhancing detoxification. When cold water is applied afterward, the vessels constrict and squeeze the fluids and toxins to move along for excretion." -http://www.detoxbodydetox.com/

This shower is good for recovery after a workout or just to feel fresh and rejuvenated in the morning. If you are pregnant, or have an illness, check with your doctor before trying this. There is a list of conditions on this webpage: http://www.vsnaturopathy.com/Shower.html

Thanks for reading! Now go take a shower!!
When it comes to getting in shape, men and women have very different ideals and goals. For instance, men want to build the muscles in their calves, while women want to trim theirs. There are many different exercises for the calves that will bring about both results, and either way, getting some exercise is always a good thing to do.

How Men Can Get Bigger Calves

Working out often involves difficult exercises, but some of the easiest are those that help build bigger calves. And these exercises, probably because they are not as difficult and do not cause as much strain as others, do not cause the pain that other exercises do. There are three sections to the calf: the soleus, the tibialis anterior and the gastrocnemius, and there are exercises that specifically target these individual sections, as well as work all three together. Some of the exercises you should add to your workout regime if you want bigger calves include:

Seated calf raises

Standing dumbbell calf raises

Standing barbell calf raises

Barbell seated calf raises

Donkey calf raises

There are many other exercises you can add to your daily routine, and soon guys, you will have the large calves you are looking for.

How Women Can Get Smaller Calves

Most women are just the opposite of men - they want to have slimmer, trimmer calf muscles that make their legs look long and sleek. Unfortunately, many women are not blessed with gorgeous calves, but instead, have rather large ones that they want to make slimmer. This is fairly easy to accomplish with a few simple exercises that can be added to any workout routine. For one thing ladies, you need to avoid exercises that build muscles, because this will just make your calves appear even larger. Some of the exercises that are recommenced for reducing calves are:

Running

It is best to avoid any sort of exercise that involves jumping, or walking or running uphill. The last thing you want to do is build muscles in your calves, which these will do.

With hard work and dedication, you can have the body you've always dreamed of, with the legs, including the calves, to match. It's easy to build or slim your calves, and it only adds a few minutes to your workout - so get to it and have great legs by summer.

The recent surge of reality dance shows has led to an explosion in the popularity of the art. The question is, is it really a good workout? The answer is yes. Not only can the celebrity participants on the shows tone up and drop weight, but you can as well. With only a few minutes of dance exercise per day, you can burn calories and drop pounds quickly.

A study performed by the American Council on Exercise found that dancing can burn anywhere from 200 to 400 calories per hour. This is similar to the burn rate of walking, swimming, and cycling. Dancing can also help to lower blood pressure, improve cholesterol, and slower heart rate. Dancing exercise helps to improve your posture, which in turn can help prevent falls. It also tones the entire body while helping to relive stress and tension.

Not only is dance a great workout, but it is fun too. Although we know that exercise is good for us, many times we do not consider it to be fun. One of the best things about dancing is that you can do it at home. So, even if you shy away from dancing in public because you are a little embarrassed, dancing at home frees you to be silly and have fun.

There are several different forms of dance, and dance workouts available. Choreographed dance moves are great for someone who is new to dancing. In this type of routine an instructor demonstrates the moves and then you follow along. There are several great choreographed dance DVD workouts available on the market today.

Ball Room dancing was brought into the spotlight by the reality show, Dancing with the Stars. This is a form of partner dancing that can be both elegant and fun. If you do not have a partner, you can still learn the moves and have a great workout. Dances like the Cha-cha and Salsa are also great for building bone density because they are weight bearing activities.

Line Dancing is also great exercise. There are several types of line dancing, some of which include country western, hip hop, jazz, and disco. There is a dance for almost every era, so no matter what your age may be, you can have fun line dancing.

If you are more on the rebellious side, you can always go free style. This is a great way to get the children involved in exercise as well. If you have little ones around your house, set a time each day to turn on the music and just be silly. Skip, twist, spin, hop, whatever move you feel brave enough to attempt, throw it in there.

Along with all of the benefits that dancing has to offer, studies have found that it can help boost brain power as well. This is especially important as the body ages. It is important to keep both the mind and body active. Dance routines that require you to memorize steps and sequences and help you to keep you brain active.

All sweets are not bad for the record, there are just certain types of sweets that are healthy to do with out.
Sweets that are bad: pastries, candy, soda, some juices (juice your vegetables and eat your fruits), gum, water ice, ice cream
Sweets that are good: fruits, smoothies, roasted nuts, some juices (juices that have vegetables in them), energy bars, sugarless gum, herbal tea, green tea
Note: This list is not complete, ask if you have any questions

For the juices, I would stick to orange juice, hi-c, prunce juice, cranberry juice, any of the v8 juices including the splashes & fusions, apple juice is okay, and other juices that are obviously healthy. If you want to make your own juices make sure that you have a mixture of fruits and vegetables (the fruits always overpower the vegetables).

Rules that you should follow

When you have an urge for sweets, go for it as long as you pick the good sweets. Your body has the urge for sweets because it needs them.

Always carry the good sweets with you, so you are less likely to eat the bad.

Think about your body. Does it need anymore of the wrong things? Is it going to help me reduce my medical bills in this recessions?

Pay yourself. Cheat every now and then.

What I Do to Kill Sugar Cravings
I chew trident, sugar less gum, to get rid of my sugar cravings. It is sweet and is very long lasting. I aslo think of the pros and cons of having certain sweets. I know that certain sweets will cause my skin to break out so, I know to stay away from them. I also might not feel like burning it off.

You can still have the traditional meal; just green it up a little bit. Some ideas are: Spinach, asparagus, any leafy greens, potatoes or rice with parsley, and a minty green dessert.

You can even create your own meal with the foods listed below and if you do not know how to make something you can type it in in my how to cook anything search engine listed along the side of my blog; it should be the first one to the very right.

Cook at home - When you cook at home you are not only saving money, but you get to eat the things you love in a healthy fashion. You will know what to put and what not to put in your food by reading nutrition facts and food labels. Note: Making a hamburger or something out of beef is not bad as long as it is lean. The more lean it is the healthier it is going to be for you.

Change your way of transportation - I know there are places you can walk to that you choose to drive to. We are all guilty of doing this (pointing the finger at myself). But something as simple as that can save you loads of money over years of doing it.

Do chores around the house - I know cleaning can be very boring, but there are ways that we can enjoy doing it. Try turning on some music, or whatever else you can think of that will lessen the horror. Use cleaning as a cardio. When you clean you do not use all of the rooms, so that means that you can turn off lights. Why not have a clean house, save money, and better health at the same time?

Yes, diets really do work, but before I give you any kind of explaination I need to give you a definition for the word dieting to make sure that everyone is clear.

Dieting - v. to eat and drink according to a regulated system, especially so as to lose weight or control a medical condition

You can go to http://www.dictionary.reference.com/browse/diets for more definitions if you would like.

It is good to cut things out of your diet that are of any harm to you, however it becomes a problem when you cut out the things that you need but do not know that you need. You need fats but there are certain kinds of fats that you need. Saturated fats are bad for you; unsaturated fats are the kinds of fats that your body needs. Your body needs sodium, sugar, and carbs as well. Note: Too much of anything is bad. The way to avoid having too much of anything, as far as nutrition is concerned, is to engage in plenty of physical activites. If you are too tired to engage in physical activites take vitamins on a daily basis and I can guarentee that you will have enough energy to do so.

Joke: You have to Let it burn like Usher. Lolz!!!

The best way to ensure your journey to fitness is a success is as simple as taking everything a step at a time. You do not want to start off on a high scale because you will surely fall or fail the mission in this case. It takes discipline. What you want to do is start changing a little at a time. For example, stop drinking soda for a month or so before eliminating something else. Be strategic. Being fit is a mindset.

The first thing that you always want to do is make sure that you are active. Join a sports team, exercise during television commercials, go to the gym, dance, do something that you find fun that requires your body to be put to work. Exercising should not be labor or even boring for that matter. The reason why most people stop exercising is that they felt like they were exercising. They felt like they were exercising because it was not something that they enjoyed doing.

Also it is very important for you to read nutritional facts, which are located on the food packaging, to make sure that what you are feeding on contains some sort of vitamins, minerals and fiber. It is okay to have one without the other. I recommend reading the food packaging on your favorite snacks before you read any other. Later on down the road, you will be able to determine what foods are good for you and what are not. Follow, this guide and you will be fit in no time. I hope that many of you find this information helpful.
However, the best thing about their products are that they are one of the healthiest junk foods that you could ever buy for yourself or anybody else. These products are good for diets rich in whole grains and other plant foods, and low in saturated fat and cholesterol which may help reduce the risk of heart disease. They come in many of the most popular flavor coding sensations that leave many customers like me satisfied. What separates Sun Chips from any other form of chips is that they contain 30% less fat than regular potato chips and are multigran. Fat content of regular potato chips are 10g per 1 oz. serving; fat content of Sunchips brand multigran snacks is 6g per 1oz. serving.

1. Avoid a whole lot of sugar, and sodium. It's your face's archenemy. There are plenty of foods that taste good that are actually good for you just make sure that you read the nutritional facts before you buy it.

2. Drink plenty of water. Water aids in the flushing out of your system which is the best thing that you can do for your physical and mental health. I would recommend staying away from juice even if it claims to be one hundred percent juice. One hundred percent juice actually has more sugar than soda.

3. Avoid touching your face no matter how bad it itches. If you tend to scratch your face alot you need to be aware of the fact that you break your skin every time you do that and if you ever do make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly before hand.

4. Avoid stress by getting messages, sitting in a hot tub, or any other way that you can relax. As we all know stress tends to break down our bodies and can lead to death.

5. Find the best face cleansing agent for your skin type. By putting some sort of cleansing agent for your face you will be renewing and restoring its natural nutrients which are needed to prevent future break outs.

6. When you wash your face use a wash cloth that is gentle on your face so that it won't make your face sore. Turn your water system to warm. You never want to put something on your face that's too cold or too hot because you don't want to open up your pores or even clog them for that matter.

7. Girls. Don't wear make up everyday unless your willing to take extra care of your face.
