May want to circulate this around especially as Christmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam: A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize . If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call. Who was saving the children whilst this shop wasted vital money on refurbishment?

Abolish Charities, there, I've said it again.

It is my opinion that charities are a major part of the problems that we have in our society, (At the end of March 2008, there were 190,387)

I have personally given my time to charities, the homeless in slough, I never learnt too much about the running of the charity, just to say there are paid people and there are unpaid people, I was of course in the latter category. I gave my time because I wanted to do something.

As a very young teenager way back in the 70's I used to step over the homeless on my way to work and now many many years later homelessness is worse, and that is clear proof to me that the present system doesn't work, not for the homeless anyway.

Ok how should we fund the needy causes if charities were abolished?

1) The government should set up a brand new department and appoint a new minister for causes.

2) Gift Aid and every other tax fiddle and scam associated with charities should be abolished and the monies should go directly into the government coffers.

3) The children, the homeless and all other causes should be helped and supported at a more local level from councils.

What can a children's charity based in the better parts of central London do to help a young abused child in the outer Hebrides?

The benefits of this new system is. Over 190,387 presently paid administrators and many many more people including fund raisers could offer there services for absolutely nothing, the government charity department could pay these volunteers weekly benefits, thereby cutting the cost of extreme wages.

By dealing with funding and administration centrally in one government department, the need for the current buildings, the upkeep of these properties, the rent, electricity, water and other utility bills associated with the running costs of these business would all be cut.

Summery

1) New Government Department (oversees and collects)

2) Local Councils (dish out)

3) Local people volunteer

The Benefits

1) The empty properties that the old charities vacate could either be sold off or converted into new homes for the homeless.

2) Less individual charity power usage thereby saving the environment.

3) No more back slapping celebrity parties or phony TV charity causes

4) No more need for emotional media marketing via TV and Newspaper, Radio and Cinema advertising.

5) Only those people that really cared would help as a volunteer, all other hangers on can go get a proper job.

Worldwide catastrophes such as third world starvation, earth quakes, tsunamis and such like would be funded by the government (us)

I was staggered to learn that advertisers actually pay £11,332 for a full page advert in the very successful BBC Top Gear Magazine.

I also learnt a new word today: :biggrin:

Advertorial

An advertisement promoting the interests or opinions of a corporate sponsor, often presented in such a way as to resemble an editorial.

A single page advertorial in Top Gear (The BBC motoring public service publication) cost a mind blowing £21,500 and a DPS advertorial? cost £38,700

This reinforces my view that the BBC are a scam and every program shown on the BBC is in fact an advert for the product.

In 1996 the UKlandfill tax was first introduced, The Conservative government led by the rather exciting John Major was responsible for its introduction, by all accounts it was the responsibility of John Gummer the Secretary of State for the Environment. He, was better known for feeding his four year old daughter a hamburger just to prove that British beef was safe to eat during the BSE crisis (mad cow disease), One has to be pretty mad to use a vulnerable 4 year old child as a food taster just to prove a point to the equally mad British public. Anyway food tasting hamburgers is another topic for another day, perhaps?
It was soon after the land fill taxes introduction that I first noticed unsightly dumping grounds the quiet secluded back roads.

People and businesses that had previously disposed of their rubbish properly in the local waste disposal yards were now being charged an arm and a leg to throw away everyday waste, Company prices on skips and waste management shot up, as you would expect them to do, because any company price increase is ultimately paid for by the customer (the law abiding ones anyway).

The cost to the local council tax payer rises year on year and part of that cost is for clearing away shit like this.
When I see dumps like these, I don't blame the fly tipper, I blame the government because it is their policies that encourage them.

April 1st 1999, a very appropriate day to introduce the Minimum wage, I can just imagine Tony smiling across the table at Gordon, nodding his head and wondering if the dumb fuckers will notice, once again we've been had. April fools day is definitely a good day to have a laugh and a joke and all at the expense of the poor. What makes the minimum wage even more laughable is the fact that the Labour party even boast that it is one of their greatest achievements, In the labour party list of top 50 achievements since being elected in 1997, the minimum wage ranks 3rd. Anybody that has half a brain cell will know that a minimum wage has done nothing at all to help anybody, but the corporations that employ the slaves and of course the New Labour party which when all is said and done it's really the old conservatives (the only difference being, the colour of their ties).

I'll make my example short and to the point:

Take a 40 hour working week as the example, I know that sounds idyllic but we have to start somewhere, don't we?

At long last we have a celebrity of worth and stature who is prepared speak out against the negative authoritarian culture that Britain has now become.

It isn't ok for anybody to suffer at the hands of bullies, not even using the pretence that money is due.

When historians look back on this the capitalist era, they'll shudder. They will note that the essence of humanity, that being: Love, Trust, Security, Community, Peace and all the other good things, they will notice that these are all missing, and they are missing not just from our politicians as you might expect but they are missing from: Work Colleagues, Teachers, Police our Neighbors and every other sector. Britain has broken down and hopefully Noel Edmonds will push forward an agenda for change.

The Question for the Public Consultation are: Do you feel it is clear when a TV licence is needed?
Is there anything more which could be done to help people understand?
Did you know about the different ways of paying for your TV licence? Is the range of payment methods suitable for you?
If not, how would you like to pay?
Is the direct communication you’ve received about your TV licence clear and concise, polite but firm?
Do you think the tone of the marketing and advertising about the TV licence is appropriate?
Do you think that the methods of enforcement, including letters, visits and detection, are reasonable and appropriate?
Do you think that the process for those who do not need a licence is appropriate?
Based on your experiences of other collection agencies, such as local councils, utility companies and the DVLA, do you have any suggestions on alternative ways of collection?

The BBC have replied back to Anon E mouse, he originally sent them a letter, stating that TV Licensing and Capita are mis-representing themselves and that the public have been given the impression by these outfits, that they have more power than the law provides. TV Licensing and Capita are breaking the Human Rights laws daily and the battling correspondence between the BBC and Anon E Mouse goes on with this three page reply back from the BBC.

BBC Bitesize (They owe us)

Why do the BBC, our so called auntie, or the better still the nicely named Beeb, why do they sell us their excellent bitesize educational series of courses?
We the TV Licence fee payer have paid for its creation and production. Then we are expected to purchase the product itself, that is if we want the best for our children. Only the more wealthier families with young children are able to afford BBC Bitesize. OK, so the BBC may remind us that BBC bitesize is freely accessible on the Internet at no charge. It is only the more wealthier families in the main that have computers with internet access. So again it is the wealthier families that benefit over the poorer ones .The bitesize books (pictured above), retail at £9.99 each. The BBC offer Free DVD's in national newspapers, the offered DVD's are normally, (In my opinion), rehashed very old or useless used up material archived from the BBC funny room, another appropriate word that could be used would be dross or even shite. The BBC could for once give something back in return for the rich life it has enjoyed for nearly 90 years. The BBC owe us.

It came as no surprise to me when I read that Carol Thatcher, she of "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here fame" and also famous for being Margaret Thatcher's superstar daughter, she announced that her mother has dementia.

Call me forward thinking if you like. I first realised that Maggie was mad way back in the 1980's.

This was when she sold of everything that wasn't hers alone to sell: Council Houses, Gas, Electric, British Rail, The Water Board, British Telecom.

She once said "Any woman who understands the problems of running a home will be nearer to understanding the problems of running a country."

and then she sold the house, the furniture, all the cooking utensils and finished off by flogging the utilities that kept the house warm and lit at night, it never stopped there she went ahead and sold the transport system that carried the family to work.

Margaret Thatcher has always been mad, but now it is official.

Rip off Britain - Gas

What prompted me to write this piece was the headline (pictured above) from the Sun online published (1st Aug 08). The headline stated "I've put up my fee by 35%... just like you lot", quoted by un-funny comedian Jimmy Carr.

The headline was referring to the recent hike in gas prices that we, the consumer should look forward to paying. British Gas used to be what I and many others called a part of the family silver, that is until 1986 when Margaret Thatcher sold it from beneath our feet.

The sale of British Gas is old news now and that wasn't why I bothered with this page, my angle was the Sun Newspaper. The Sun really knows how to wind it readers up and this story is a very good example of that.

The gist of the story goes something like this:

EXCLUSIVE:
US
    * 35% Price Hike 16 million reeling customers
THEM
    * Champagne Reception, everyone drunk, punch ups
    * 1,000 Middle Managers at Boozy £250,000 Junket, Beano, Bash
    * 4 course meal, Free drink.
    * Conference to justify the hike in price
The Sun reports that the festivities were compered by telly sports presenter Steve Ryder with a speech by rugby legend Lawrence Dallaglio.
Poker-faced funny man Carr was a surprise guest at Birmingham’s plush ICC International Conference Centre.
What the sun failed to mention is this. Had it not been for the support from "The Sun" proprietor Mr Rupert Murdoch,  Margaret Thatcher would never have got away with the sale of British Gas.

And this junket would never have happened, Would it?

Just the other day a kind hearted gentleman who wishes to remain Anon E Mouse. Gave me access to his correspondence with the BBC, In it he makes the point that TV Licensing, they along with Capita Group plc are the strong forceful bodies that rein in the BBC licence fee dodgers? evaders? scabs?, Call them what you will. TV Licensing along with their cronies Capita have no such right to act in the manner that they do, and this kind hearted Anon E Mouse gentleman, thankfully, is trying to do something about it. I created this video to show that the BBC is no more a public service broadcaster than I am a deep sea diver, it is a major player in the market. The BBC is a corporate industry, it competes directly, not only with other TV and Radio broadcasters but also with book publishers, magazine publishers, toy and games manufacturers and many many other industries.
Why should our citizens be harassed, intimidated and shamed publicly or even sent to prison for not having a Licence to watch television. The BBC are always bigging up their own charity "children in need" well what about the parents of those children in need who gives a stuff about them? I do.
