I was lucky enough to taste the dishes the other night, and loved the Spicy Thai-ger cocktail, with Thai chili-infused vodka, sake, elderflower liqueur and cranberry, garnished with candied ginger.

International Wine and Food Festival last year with a couple friends and had a great time sampling wines. This year's main event is on February 13 and 14, and there are over 600 wines to try from 100 wineries from around the world. Today is Elvis Presley's 75th birthday, and to celebrate, the National Portrait Gallery opens One Life: Echoes of Elvis today in the One Life gallery. Look for paintings, photographs and sculptures that illustrate the span of Elvis' life. It's the first of two Elvis shows on display at the gallery this year. If you aren't heading to the Repeal Day Ball on Saturday, plan to swing by Urbana, which will be celebrating the 76th anniversary of the 1933 repeal of Prohibition with bathtub gin fizzes and cocktails. There will also be '20s music and if you're a fan of Urbana on Facebook, you'll have access to a secret password that will get you an extra treat.

There will be artisans and crafters selling handmade goods, produce and other items from farmer's market vendors, and a lighted Christmas tree.

I went to see it recently, and loved looking at the beautifully wrought pieces of armor, all of which were heavily detailed.
