This is a blog of http://i-was-here.appspot.com/ web application. With this application you can easily create a map of places you visited and maintain chronological list of your trips that are linked to the map. One can also download corresponding KML files to view with Google Earth or upload them into your personal Google Maps.

The app was created mainly to try and test capabilities of google app engine platform. And also I thought that this web service would be usefull to myself.

The application itself uses various technologies:

Appengine Users and Datastore API
Appengine helper for Django
Django framework
Google Maps API
Javascript and AJAX
Python and its various libraries
HTML and CSS

It was fun to create it. Enjoy.
