GOOD LUCK!! (2003)

(Sorry for not updating for more than a month. Too concentrate on watching dramas lately)

This is absolutely a very good drama, even thought it's old (from 2003), but still really interesting. A friend of mine recommended this drama since we both took a pilot recruit test before, but his love towards planes is more than mine (unfortunately we both didn't make the cut). I don't have to give the rating for this drama as you can see the viewership rating is 30.41%, the highest(?) rating from TBS at that time, and the best drama that related to plane so far after watching others [Attention, Please!]. The theme song is a bit classic (1980?), but suitable for the drama concept, and I really like it. Thanks for my friend for recommending this drama. Hence I ALSO recommend you to watch this drama if you love plane, flying, and a bit romance in the cocktail. (download page link is the grey-highlighted words).

Hope you enjoy the flight!~

Just finished watching Ohno Satoshi's 2012 drama [Kagi no Kakatta Heya] & [Mou Yuukai Nante Shinai], Totsugi Shigeyuki's [The Quiz Show Season 1] with Katagiri Jin and [The Quiz Show 2] with Yokoyama Yu & Sakurai Sho, [Yamada Tarou Monogatari], [Kaibutsu-kun + Sp & The Movie], [Code Blue Season 1], and ARASHI's SP 2010 Drama [Saigo no Yakusoku]

I'll try my best to keep updating at least once a week for the reviews. However I only review dramas/movies that I watched. Not the upcoming or new... :P

[J-Movie] Kimi to Boku (2011)

Kimi To Boku

Title: Kimi to Boku (キミとボク)
Title (alternative): You & I, Everlasting Heart (Original site)
Release Date: 2011-May-14
Runtime: 45 minutes

Synopsis:

Kimi to Boku キミとボク is a 45-minute Live-action adaptation of the popular indie web flash animation.

Originally created by Yamagara Shigeto back in 2001, “Kimi to Boku” tells the true story of a 10-year relationship between a cat named “Ginougou” and the owner who dreamed of becoming a manga-ka. Viewers followed the story from their first encounter until their final farewell, the site accumulated over 4,800,000 hits. The story became so popular in fact, that it was also released as a book in January of 2009.

Starring Nakamura Aoi as the main character, along with Sakamoto Maaya as seiyuu (voice) of Gin-o-go (the cat), and Inaba Yu.

The English version of Kimi to Boku - EVERLASTING HEART, now can be viewed officially at this link
(there will be 3 parts in the flash; Legend of Tanabata, Tanabata festival and Kimi-to-Boku)

Comment:
This is absolutely very very touching story if you an animal lover, or even better, CAT LOVER! I would rate it FULL MARK for this cos not only I'm a cat lover and dog lover, but the storyline about living with non-human best-friend. I've been watching this type of movie, like Hachiko Monogatari, Hachi: A Dog's Tale and Mari to Koinu no Monogatari before, and I love all of them cos they are based on true stories. But all of those are dogs. It is very hard to find a such story that involve cat.

There are some cat movies I found too, but the oone I really want to watch after Kimi To Boku is Gu Gu The Cat, but I couldn't find the movie just yet. I'm looking forward of it. :)

Back on the topic.... I found out about Kimi to Boku right after the announcement of the movie. Been waiting for it, turned out not available in my country nor sold in DVD in my country. LOL! somehow I got it.
I also watched the flash-animation (English version) for 3 times already. 10 minutes per play is nothing if you really want to know the story. AND IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to watch both live-action and the animation.

My rating: 10/10

I personally love love love this series VERY much!! LOL!! Not just because of the casts, but the storyline. However I haven't watch the Korean version of this. and I'm dying to watch it. While watching this, I can feel the way the main character, Naruse Ryou's feelings and situations just like I was in that character. (Yeah.. This is the kind of drama that I really love, you become the character while watching). And if you guys have watched this, you know the ending....Tissues were all over the floor while watching the last episode in the mid-night. Hahahaha (〃￣ω￣〃ゞ.

One more thing, I like the theme song "Truth" by Arashi, even though I'm not really a fan of Arashi, but gaaaah!~ Johnny's members are SAIKOU!!!! d=(´▽｀)=b

[K-Drama] Perhaps Love (2007)

2012-05-11T11:47:00.001-07:00

Title : Perhaps Love

Alternative Title(s) : If in Love... Like Them / A Special Promise

Number of Episodes: 4

Date Aired (YYYY-MM-DD): 2007-Mar-23

Synopsis:

Lee Na (Lee Hyo Ri) is a rising singer who was about to debut but tradegy struck her when she found out she had leukemia. Another girl took her place and sang her debut song at her concert. Now everybody thinks that the other girl is her. Jung Tae (Lee Dong Gun) survived a department store collapse only to find out that he has cancer. Lee Na and Jung Tae meet and fall in love.

(Info source: Wiki.D-addicts & AsianWiki)

My Comment:

I like Lee HyoRi a lot...but not since Fin.K.L, cos I didin't know her till her solo debut. LOL!

Personally I love this series a lot, even I cried a lot while watching this drama. (>.> Why I can't control my tears?!). HyoRi's character, Lee Na is also named Ina, depending the sub providers (When I watched it, it was Ina). I love the story from the very beginning, then my 'crazy-fan' attitude kicked in when the back-dancer girl took her place on her debut. To me, it was like watching the real event. Hahaha. I keep bad-mouthing about that girl taking Lee Na's place. LOL!

I read some info and trivia about this series in some site and found out something rather interesting....

The production cost is around 5 billion won.
The drama was banned in Korea for various violation reasons.
Originally announced as one-episode drama, but ran as 4 episodes on Mnet, 2 edited version episodes on SBS
During filming, Lee Hyo-Ri's foot fell through a roof that partially collapsed. Her co-star Lee Dong-Geon saved her from a potentially fatal fall.

As it was said, it was banned in Korea due to various violation reasons. I don't know what was it, but I think the drama was great, might not suitable for family viewing, but yeah. Still the drama got its attention outside.

My rating is 7.9/10
I think this is my first rating with exact points...LOL!

BTW!~ I like this image better as the poster teaser

(info source: wiki.d-addicts)

Weeeee!~ Another YamaPi's drama. hohohoho

In first episode of this drama, you can actually see YamaPi really looked like Kimura Takuya. But I think I noticed something else too....He looked tired and thinner than before. ∑(O_O；)
Anyway, back to the series review..... I was quite surprise about the Viewership rating was 10.9% only. for me the story is quite good, and I did went teary a bit too towards the end. LOL!! （＠´＿｀＠）
Couldn't stop crying when the eldest brother, Kento died ｡･ﾟﾟ･(>д<)･ﾟﾟ･｡

Rumour said that Meada Atsuko (Acchan from AKB48) was to take the blame of the drama's low rating, and black-mailed not to star on any Johnny's members' drama in the future. Hmmm.. well, maybe true, I check her previous drama; Hanazakari No Kimitachi E (2011) the remake of 2007 Hana-Kimi drama, also have a very low rating....6.99%. I haven't watch the remake yet, so I can't say anything much about it, but from the teasers and trailers, I can see why....a bit. Maybe not her fault alone too.. (I did blamed her too though). Well, rumour is still a rumour, no confirmation yet. (FYI, I'm not really a fan of Acchan, but Johnny's members ＼（Ｔ∇Ｔ）／)

My own rating on this drama: 6/10

Owh yeah!~ the theme song for this drama is Ai, Texas by YamaPi. Surprisingly as a fan, I don't really like the song... Can't tell why... ヽ(　￣д￣;)ノ

(info source: AsianWiki)

I found out about this movie from my youngest sister, cos she loves Korean drama, movie and celebrities, while I'm the opposite, Japanese!
She told about it and told the storyline a bit to me, but when I watched the movie, it didn't what I imagined when my sister told me before watching it. Darn it!!~ I couldn't even watch it in night time, had to wait for daylight. Hahaha Yup!! sometimes I'm scared watching alone. LOL!
This movie is about a song that was cursed by the original writer. Guess what? My sister, my step sister went crazy about this song that they even downloaded it. LOL!

Rating: 7/10

BUT!!! this song also gives me a chill on my back whenever I listen to it at night. LOL!!!

But his eccentricities and poor social timing can also aggravate people and circumstances, further complicating matters.
(info from wiki.d-addicts)

I'm also happened to be a fan of mystery and comedy! Love the intro song, the storylines in every episode. And also learned more about brains and how it works. But I wonder what happened to the lady in the first episode when Tsukumo was still a host. LOL!
Everytime i watch this series, Kimura Takuya reminds me of Yamashita Tomohisa in 2012. Cos YamaPi (nickname of Yamashita) looked verymuch the same as him, as rumoured that he's the next Takuya. LOL! And yeah!! I keep mistaken Takuya is YamaPi.
Anyway, back to Mr.Brain, the ending was crazy and wanting to know what else happened after the last scene in air-plane. LOL! Hopefully it wasn't a real bomb when Tsukumo pressed the button.

My rating is......10/10 A full mark!~ :P

Haunted Changi (2010)

2011-11-10T01:26:00.001-08:00

In January of 2010, a group of local filmmakers began exploring the famously haunted Old Changi Hospital in Singapore with terrifying and tragic results. This movie pieces together the original Haunted Changi film crew's footage to tell the full story.

(More info about Haunted Changi movie, visit the official site http://hauntedchangi.com/ & http://hauntedchangi.blogspot.com/)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did researched about this movie wheater it's real or not, but unfortunately it's not!! LOL!

Here why... See the photo below? Look carefully one of the crew members. HE'S IN THE MOVIE!! Farid was!! :P

For the record, this indie film really scary and OMG! cos it did caused me and my sister to screamed out of the hell, causing other people in the house to jump of their seat hearing us sreaming XD. (Fortunately we didn't watched it in HD TV, but in Laptop)

One thing for sure is that the production was taken place in the REAL old Changi Hospital.

I would give it 9 out of 10 for giving me nightmares and unabled to sleep properly for a week :P

He decides to tape his room too and during the days, weird noises and events happen in the house. They invite priest Saionji to purify the house against ghosts and over four days nothing unusual happens...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the official Japanese sequel movie of Paranormal Activity, which actually take place not long after the incident in Paranormal Activity (2007). It is actually related if only you watched the official ending of the first movie.

I did checked some reviews from views in Rotten Tomatoes that this is boring and dull. But what i think is this movie is actually good, I didn't scream, but constantly pressing the 'pause' button cos I was scared if something pops out :P (Yup, I'm a scardy-cat too).

My rating for this movie?.....I would give 7.5 out of 10

I have't really check on the 3rd movie, but not really looking forward on it, cos I need a rest from horror movies :P

Paranormal Activity 2 (2010)

2011-11-10T00:03:00.001-08:00

MOVIE INFO

The sequel to the low-budget blockbuster Paranormal Activity takes place a few months before the events of the first film. Katie (Katie Featherston), the much put-upon leading lady in the original, has a sister living in an upscale Los Angeles suburb named Kristi (Sprague Grayden).

Kristi has a new baby son, Hunter; a likable lug of a husband named Daniel (Brian Boland), who owns several fast-food joints; a teenage stepdaughter from her hubby's first marriage, Ali (Molly Ephraim); and a large, friendly dog. As the family gets used to the new arrival, strange noises are heard late at night and when they come home from an outing, they discover the house has been trashed, even though none of their valuables have been stolen.

Daniel responds by installing a security system and a network of surveillance cameras, though that doesn't stop the noises or the Latino housekeeper's insistence that spirits lurk in the home. When Katie and her boyfriend, Micah (Micah Sloat), stop by for a visit, they discuss the strange goings-on with Kristi; the women of the house believe supernatural forces are at work, while the men find that notion ridiculous. That doesn't last long, as the spirits get noisier and angrier, especially when Ali begins doing some research on the subject, and before long the safety of the household is being threatened on several fronts, possibly due to some dirty dealings in the family's distant past. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

MOVIE INFO

A haunted house makes no secret of the fact it's not pleased with its new tenants in this independent tale of supernatural horror. Katie (Katie Featherson) and Micah (Micah Sloat) are a twentysomething couple who've just moved into a new home in San Diego, CA. Katie has an interest in the paranormal and believes that malevolent spirits have been following her since childhood, though Micah is not so easily convinced. However, after several nights of loud noises and strange happenings, Micah starts to agree with Katie that some sort of ghost may have followed them to the new home. After a paranormal researcher tells the couple he can't help them, Micah decides to take control of the situation and sets up a battery of video cameras so that if a spirit manifests itself, he can capture its behavior on tape. Once the surveillance cameras are in place, Katie and Micah bring in a Ouija board in an effort to talk to the spirits, a move that deeply offends the ghosts. So the first time I watched this movie was in the tutorial class (cos no class on that time) with classmates. AND apparently I watched the alternative ending of this move, Paranormal activity (it was the download version).
The ending I first watched was then Katie killed Micah and ran back to the room, crying with bloody shirt and bloody knife on her hands, sitting by the bed till the next night, where 2 policemen came in found the dead body of Micah in the living room and shot Katie when she tried to kill them (based on what I remember).
However, the official ending was when dead Micah was thrown to the camera in the room and Katie kinda ate the camera, followed by text mentioning about her missing.
Whatever the ending is, I enjoyed watching and screaming and..well...jumping around scaring my sisters. I would give it a 4.5 of 5 stars.

He starts to serve Eu as her guard but he happens to deprive the mahou shoujo Haruna of her magic power. Haruna orders Ayumu to fight against the anti-mahou shoujo system "Megalo" in her place.

This is just the first episode of the anime (cos I don't read manga). So I found it VERY funny and ....well, funny. LOL
And then I just finished watching the 2nd episode of it...can't really comment much about it, except having a good time watching it, but yes... I will continue watching it!!!
Highly recommended for shoujo actions and comedy XD

My Comment:
I really like this movie, not just because I like Facebook, but the story behind the making of Facebook. In the world of creating something like this is always becoming the war. To get more users, subscribers and popularity, which makes it famous. To be honest, if you're not that geek or understand a little thing about creating and designing a website, you might get confused and bored, just like my sister who was watch next to me and fell asleep.

There was once where we were asked to choose one topic from the list for our technical report for Communication Skill unit. and there are several topics about Facebook. One of them is "Will Facebook replace e-mail?". If I were to answer directly, I would say "WHY?! Isn't you need and E-mail address to login into Facebook?". But it's up to you to decide.

Anyway, enjoy watching the movie. and if you don't get the story, just watch it again or read some reviews online. Maybe you'll get what the story about.

Adele: Rise Of The Mummy

2010-11-15T04:28:00.001-08:00

Writer-director-producer Luc Besson‘s affinity for megabudgeted, FX-heavy adventure spectacles is well-known and publicized; with his outing The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec, he adds yet another chapter to this tradition. An adaptation of a popular French comic book from the 1970s, it stars Louise Bourgoin (The Girl from Monaco) as the redheaded title character, a wisecracking, hard-living adventurer-cum-novelist living in pre-WWI France. As the tale opens, Adele is on a mission in Egypt, attempting to retrieve a sarcophagus and tote it back to Western Europe, but simultaneously attempting to fend off complications wrought by her nemesis, archaeologist Dieuleveult. She succeeds on both fronts, but upon returning runs headfirst into another issue: a Parisian scientist (Jacky Nercessian) with the power to heal Adele‘s comatose sister (Laure de Clermont-Tonnere) has accidentally let loose an ancient Pterodactyl above the Parisian skies. While a zany detective (Gilles Lellouche) and a hunter (Jean-Paul Rouve) attempt to eliminate the creature, the villains turn up yet again and try to thwart Adele‘s long-term plans.
This movie was released in French in April this year, but only released in Asia (Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei) Just recently in November this year.
In French, the movie is known as "Les Aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec", which is The Extraordinary Adventure Of Adele Blanc-Sec, while in Asia it was known as Adele: Rise of The Mummy.

My Comment:
The funny thing is that the movie id dubbed into English instead of using the original dubbed. One possible reason that is majority people in Asia do not speak nor understand French. But I still prefer the original....with English subtitle that is.

My comment:

Obviously I like Sci-fi movies, and Skyline had become one of them. Unfortunately, I don't like the ending of this movie. Kinda spoils everything... Survival? Yes... But unique brain (red in color instead of blue like others), is just keep me asking more question..Why the heck the brain is different from others? He was human. And what are they doing with those are pregnant?.. lots of question coming soon after the main characters being sucked up into the ship. And from what I read from Rotten Tomatoes, most comments and reviews are negative.

Popzara's Chris Pandolfi says it was little more than a "low-budget alien invasion dud filled with effects that aren't special and unnecessary human melodrama. A complete waste of resources."

Ouch!~

Shugendou Now - Now and Then

2010-09-26T11:42:00.001-07:00

This feature documentary is an experiential journey into the mystical practices of Japanese mountain asceticism. In Shugendô (The Way of Acquiring Power), practitioners perform ritual actions from shamanism, “Shintô,” Daoism, and Tantric Buddhism. They seek experiential truth of the teachings during arduous climbs in sacred mountains. Through the peace and beauty of the natural world, practitioners purify the six roots of perception, revitalize their energy and reconnect with their truest nature – all while grasping the fundamental interconnectedness with nature and all sentient beings.

My Comment: I really wanna watch this documentary!!! I don't know why, but yeah. I don't know exactly when it is released, but I'll find this film eventually. And yeah, I bet you think that I only watch Dramas and movies.. LOL

My rating:★★★

I really like Resident Evil series, as well the games, yet I wasn't the one who playing the games. I'm just a observer and amateur critique. So for me this chapter of Resident Evil movie is quite expected for the ending except the bombing part where Alice, Chris and Claire were happy to see it. Honestly, I missed the first 30min of the movie. So I think I missed the fun part. Still I'll be watching it again to catch up what I missed for the first 30min of the movie.

The Expendable (2010)

2010-09-07T09:17:00.001-07:00

Directed by Sylvester Stallone
Produced by Avi Lerner, Kevin King Templeton, John Thompson
Screenplay by Sylvester Stallone, David Callaham
Story by David Callaham
Synopsis

THE EXPENDABLES is a hard-hitting action/thriller about a group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Once the mission begins, the men realize things aren’t quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal. With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge – one that threatens to destroy this band of brothers.

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) is a man with nothing to lose. Fearless and void of emotion, he is the leader, the sage and the strategist of this tight-knit band of men who live on the fringe. His only attachment is to his pickup truck, his seaplane and his team of loyal modern-day warriors. His is a true cynic who describes what he does as “removing those hard to get at stains.” The team behind him is made up of Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), former SAS and a savant with anything that has a blade; Yin Yang (Jet Li), a master at close-quarter combat; Hale Caesar (Terry Crews), who has known Barney for ten years and is a long-barrel weapons specialist; Toll Road (Randy Couture), a skilled demolitions expert and considered the intellect of the group; and Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), a combat veteran and an expert in precision sniping who struggles with his own demons.

When the mysterious Church offers Barney a job no one else would take, Barney and his team embark on what appears to be a routine mission: overthrow General Gaza (David Zayas), the murderous dictator of the small island country of Vilena and end the years of death and destruction inflicted on its people. On a reconnaissance mission to Vilena, Barney and Christmas meet their contact Sandra (Giselle Itie), a local freedom-fighter with a dark secret. They also come to learn who their true enemy is: rogue ex-CIA operative James Monroe (Eric Roberts) and his henchman Paine (Steve Austin). When things go terribly wrong, Barney and Christmas are forced to leave Sandra behind, essentially giving her a death sentence. Haunted by this failure, Barney convinces the team to return to Vilena to rescue the hostage and finish the job he started. And to perhaps save a soul: his own.
