Even though the much touted features were already available via add-ons (described later), having them by default in a new and official, stable version of the browser is somehow feels right. :-) Also, there are some additional new features and performance enhancements. See a full feature list here.

Anyways, I won't get into the details of what's new and how it is better than other browsers. I'll just quickly tell you about some features that I find very useful.

Well, it's not a review of them, per se. I'll just brush through some points.

Let's start with Tata Photon+ 'coz that's what I am using. I got the device along with my laptop and opted for the 15GB Unlimited plan. The plan description sounds contradictory, huh? Well, that's how ISPs are trying to fool consumers these days. The plan name says 'unlimited' but there's always some 'Fair usage policy' or 'Upper limit'. In this case, I will get 3.1 Mbps till 15GB and 144Kbps thereafter. As there was no one in the market who was really...
It is called “20 things I learned about Browsers and the Web” and is basically an “Internet for Dummies” book. The review on TechCrunch got me interested and I visited the site.

I won’t go into much detail of how the site is. Check that out by visiting that site itself. I would only say, this site shows what marvelous feats can be achieved using HTML5. The hard-bound yearbook feel, the curling of pages, the dimming of light, offline accessibility - everything is so cool and sleek. Specially...
After reading this, you can decide for yourself whether to get yourself one of these or not. You'll have my opinions too.

But once you slide out the transparent keypad and it lights up with your touch (literally), it does inspire awe. The transparency really looks cool as we've not seen anything...
Not a huge surprise there, though; as the Slashgear post was at the top 'coz I had commented on that post. My comment has the term 'Bangalore'. So... Today I devised a way to stay in touch with my dear ones even when I don't have a cellphone with me at office. The scenario is like this -

I'm not allowed to bring cellphone inside the production floor. The person I want to stay in touch with does have a cell phone with her. So, how do I communicate with her? Simple. I'm able to open some 'free sms from the web' sites on my work computer. Like - cantos.com or indyarocks.com . I can simply type my msg and send that to her number. That's for outgoing msg from my end. But as I...
Megaupload forces general users to wait for 45 seconds and registered free users to wait for 25 seconds after filling up their Captcha word verification to download files. This is quite irritating. Now, there's a simple hack to skip this waiting time and download files instantly, without any countdown.

Whenever you face any problem with the service for which you are paying, you try to do a little troubleshooting yourself. But what do you do when everything fails? You call up the Customer Care. The nice guys at the other end of the call talks you through the issue and its solution or register a complain. But then again, what do you do when you...
It's called TATA Docomo.

Won't go into details of the postpaid plan, but the prepaid plan is pretty attractive. Their main feature is the 'per second pulse'. Presently, all other networks have a 'per minute pulse' system. In effect, if your call lasts 5 minutes 10 seconds, you pay for 6 minutes [6 pulses]. But with Docomo, you'll be charged for exactly how long the call lasted, i.e. for 310 seconds in the example.

The call charges are also pretty competitive. It's 1 paisa/second, all across India. So, you get...
It's not that I was not in touch with happenings of tech world. Just that I've been really busy with all my office work and the 'Marriage : Not made in heaven' series. So, I gave that a skip. But then I came across some issues with Firefox 3 which was affecting my blogs. So, am writing this post now.

They've rolled out a 'Low Bandwidth version' of Orkut. Check the screen-shot below.

The commendable thing about this version is - it's not ugly. What usually happens is - low bandwidth versions are usually devoid of all photos, graphics and formatting. They seem like just a word document. Total eye-sore. But, hats off to Orkut. All other images [except for your profile photo] are removed. But still, in way, the Low-BW version looks better and cleaner than the normal version. The...
