&lt;img border="0" height="200" width="200" imageanchor="1" style="clear:left; float:left;margin-right:1em; margin-bottom:1em" src="http://www.onsemi.com/site/images/ig/1102_LVFRFamily-Web.jpg" /&gt;&lt;b&gt;PHOENIX, Ariz. – Dec. 13, 2011&lt;/b&gt; - ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN), a premier supplier of high performance silicon solutions for energy efficient electronics, has introduced of a new family of 100 volt (V) trench-based low forward voltage Schottky rectifiers (LVFR) for applications such as switching power supplies for notebook adapters or flat panel displays, reverse battery protection circuits, and high frequency DC-DC converters.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The new NTST30100CTG, NTST20100CTG and NTSB20U100CTG family of devices utilize a trench topology that enables exceptionally low forward voltage drop and reduced leakage current. This results in low conduction losses and a substantial improvement in circuit efficiency - helping design engineers achieve regulatory requirements without the added complexity, such as synchronous rectification.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
This LVFR family utilizes a trench MOS structure that enables an enhanced conduction zone under forward bias, resulting in significant reduction in forward voltage drop. Under reverse bias, this structure creates a "pinch-off" effect resulting in reduced leakage current. Unlike planar Schottky rectifiers, the LVFR's switching performance is strong across their entire operating junction temperature range of -40 °C to +150 °C.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
To demonstrate the advantages of LVFR's, the company compared the performance of its 30A, 100V LVFR (NTST30100SG) with a standard 30A, 100V planar Schottky rectifier. Data measured in a 65W power adapter showed a 1% efficiency improvement using LVFR versus planar Schottky. This significant increase in efficiency can allow the power supply designer to meet regulatory requirements without the added complexity and cost of solutions, such as synchronous rectification.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
"As our customers continuously strive to achieve higher efficiencies in their product designs, older planar generations of Schottky rectifiers simply cannot cost effectively deliver the performance and efficiency of the trench LVFR family," said John Trice, senior director and general manager of ON Semiconductor's Power Discrete Division. "LVFR's superior forward voltage drop and reverse leakage performance over extended temperature ranges exceed our customer's demanding specifications for power efficiency improvement", he added.&lt;br /&gt;

ON Semiconductor's new NCL30051 stage, power factor correction (PFC) and Resonant Half Bridge, LED driver combined with the new NCL30160, a dimmable constant current step-down (buck) LED driver, provide an ideal solution for high-brightness LED driver applications where space is limited and high efficiency is important.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
The NCL30051 is a dedicated LED power supply integrated circuit (IC) capable of delivering a constant voltage to a step-down DC-DC converter/LED driver (e.g. NCL30160). The device, which combines a critical conduction mode (CrM), PFC controller and a half-bridge resonant controller with a built-in 600 volt (V) driver, is optimized for off-line power supply applications - all the features needed to implement highly efficient, small form factor designs. The NCL30051's half-bridge stage operates at a fixed frequency. Regulation is achieved by adjusting the PFC stage output voltage. The device integrates open feedback loop protection, plus PFC overvoltage and undervoltage detection mechanisms, as well as an adjustable frequency oscillator which can be set at up to 75 kilohertz (kHz).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The NCL30160, a switching regulator for high power LEDs, takes the constant voltage delivered by the NCL30051-enabled power supply and steps down the voltage to provide a constant current across the LED string. Solutions with up to 98 percent efficiency are achieved by utilizing the low 55 milliohm (mΩ) internal MOSFET and the ability to operate at 100 percent duty cycle. This constant current device operates with an input voltage range from 6.3 V to 40 V, which makes it ideal for industrial and automotive applications. High switching frequencies up to 1.4 megahertz (MHz) allow the use of smaller external components helping to minimize board size and cost. The hysteretic control of the NCL30160 provides fast response during load transients and eliminates the need for small signal control loop compensation components. Protection features include resistor-programmed LED current, shorted LED protection, undervoltage lockout and thermal shutdown.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
"The NCL30051 and NCL30160 ICs work in tandem to simplify power circuit designs with the minimal number of external components needed," said Bill Schromm, ON Semiconductor senior vice president and general manager of Computing and Consumer Products. "This architecture allows the chipset to be incorporated into more compact and cost-effective LED Lighting power supplies for general lighting applications such as outdoor lighting forstreet lights and parking lights, and automotive lighting."&lt;br /&gt;

Both the NCL30051 and the NCL30160 have operating junction temperature ranges of -40 ⁰C to +125 ⁰C.&lt;br /&gt;

The NCP1840 is ideal for multi-LED status indicators that communicate status and diagnostic conditions to the user, and can help differentiate an end product via LED animation.&lt;br /&gt;

By utilizing the NCP1840, engineers can offload some of the work normally&lt;br /&gt;
handled by the processor in their system design, as it no longer needs to&lt;br /&gt;
directly control each individual LED. Current and dimming level programming&lt;br /&gt;
is conveniently done by writing to and reading registers via a serial interface&lt;br /&gt;
that uniformly controls the brightness and blink rate of each LED. LED&lt;br /&gt;
brightness levels can be controlled logarithmically —rather than linearly— to&lt;br /&gt;
accommodate natural eye viewing with no brightness distortion.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The device is well suited for portable applications due to its ability to extend battery life by using a high efficiency, low noise, quad-mode charge pump. The charge pump and constant current regulators maintain forward LED voltage and active operation despite swings in input voltage. The NCP1840 also saves on space by requiring only five small ceramic capacitors and one resistor to form a complete LED power supply and current controller.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
50Hz. (vertical) PAL yayın sisteminde CRT ekranı 312,5 tek 312,5 çift olmak üzere 625 satır olarak taranır. Bu satır tarama 1sn.de 25 kez tekrarlanır. Bu durumda 1sn. sonunda toplam 625x25=15.625 satır taraması gerçekleştirilir. Elde ettiğimiz rakam bize Horizontal Output Transistörünün (H.O.T) bir saniyede kaç kez anahtarlanacağını gösterir. 100Hz. TV'lerde bu değer 2 katı olarak bulunur.&lt;br /&gt;

Switching Regulator ICler, tasarım açısından biraz komplike olmakla beraber, devre ihtiyaçlarını tam olarak karşılaması, yüksek verimlilikle ve uzun süre problemsiz çalışabilmesinden dolayı Led Lighting (Led Aydınlatma) uygulamalarında tercih edilmektedir.&lt;br /&gt;

Switching Regulator ICler farklı topolojileri&lt;b&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;"&gt;(1)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt; destekleyecek şekilde üretilmektedirler. Öncelikle bu topolojileri;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Isolated:&lt;/b&gt; Tasarım Primary ve Secondary olarak iki parçadan oluşur. İzolasyon, kullanılan transformatör sayesinde, geri besleme opto-coupler ile sağlanmaktadır. Flyback, forward, resonant, half / full bridge gibi çeşitleri vardır. Hangisinin kullanılacağına öncelikle devrenin ihtiyacı olan toplam güce bakılarak karar verilir. İkinci parametre ise tabiki maliyetdir. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Non-Isolated:&lt;/b&gt; Şebeke veya girişten izolasyon söz konusu değildir. Buck (step-down), Boost (step-up) ve ikisinin karışımı SEPIC topoloji çok kullanılır. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Buck (Step-Down):&lt;/b&gt; Çıkış voltajının giriş voltajından daha düşük olduğu uygulamalarda tercih edilir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Boost (Step-Up):&lt;/b&gt; Çıkış voltajının giriş voltajından daha yüksek olduğu uygulamalarda tercih edilir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;SEPIC:&lt;/b&gt; Bu topoloji ise çıkış voltajının giriş voltajından yüksek ya da düşük olabileceği uygulamalarda tercih edilir.&lt;br /&gt;

Acar Patent’ in Türk Patent Enstitüsü’nden yayınlanan istatistiki verileri esas alarak hazırladığı raporda; 2011 Ekim ayında 8 bini geçen patent başvurularının yılsonu itibari ile hedeflenen 10 bin barajını bulması bekleniyorken, 16 ilimizin patent başvurularında “0” çektiği görülüyor.&lt;br /&gt;
 &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Patent başvuruları % 25 arttı&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
2010 Ekim ayına kadar yapılan patent başvurusu sayısı 6523 iken, 2011 yılının aynı döneminde bu sayı 1636 artı başvuru ile % 25 yükselişi işaret etti.&lt;br /&gt;
 &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;16 ilimiz ise 2011 yılında hiç başvuru yapmazken, 51 ilimiz ise Ekim ayında “0” çekti,&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Özellikle son yıllarda buluşlarını patent tescili ile korumak konusunda bilinçlenen Türkiye’nin patent başvuru oranını yukarıya çektiği gözlemlenirken, bu başvuruların sadece belirli ilerde konuşlanması ise eksik yönümüz olarak öne çıktı.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;b&gt;İstanbul patent lideri, Bursa Başkent Ankara’nın önünde&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
İstanbul 2011 yılı genel toplamında ve Ekim ayında ilk sırayı alırken, Bursa, İzmir ve Manisa takipçi iller olmayı başardılar. Ankara’dan ise Ekim ayında 19 buluşa patent alınabilmek için müracaat yapıldı.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;b&gt;Türkiye’ de yabancı ülkeler patent başvurularıyla yerli buluşları geride bıraktı&lt;/b&gt; &lt;br /&gt;
2011 yılında Türk Patent Enstitüsü’ne yapılan patent başvurularının %40’ını yerli başvurular oluştururken, diğer ülkelerden gelen başvuruların oranı %60’ı buldu. Yabancı ülkelerden yapılan başvurularda Almanya öne çıkarken ABD, İtalya ve Fransa takiplerini sürdürdü.&lt;br /&gt;

Gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerin yenilikçi kimlik ve patentleri ile öne çıktığını belirten Acar Patent Genel Müdürü Savaş Gümüş, Global Rekabette yer alabilmek için teşviklerin aralıksız devam ederek patentin öneminin vurgulanması gerektiğini savundu.&lt;br /&gt;

Bu yazımda sizlere, bir çok güç kaynağı projenizde güvenle kullanabileceğiniz bir SMPS Controller entegresini tanıtmak istiyorum.&lt;br /&gt;

TSOP-6 (SOT23-6) paketinde olan entegremiz, 28V besleme gerilimine kadar çalışabilmektedir. Peak current mode control özelliği bulunan NCP1250, 65kHz ve 100kHz'lik iki farklı sabit çalışma frekansına sahiptir. Secondary tarafındaki güç düşmeye başladığında IC'nin çalışma frekansı da 26kHz'e kadar düşmektedir. Gücün düşmeye devam etmesi durumunda IC skip-cycle moduna geçerek peak akımı limitlemektedir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
IC üzerinde bulunan bir pin ile hem Over Power Protection (yüksek güç koruması) hem de Over Voltage Protection (yüksek voltaj koruması) özellikleri sağlanmaktadır. Farklı kullanım amaçlarına göre, auto-recovery veya latched kısa devre korumalarından biri seçilebilmektedir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Dahili ramp düzeltmesi, 4ms sabit soft-start ve 100ms zaman bazlı auto-recovery kısa devre koruması entegrenin diğer önemli özellikleridir. Hem normal hem de düşük yükle çalışma durumundaki çalışma frekanslarında jittering yapılmakta ve devrenin EMC performansı yükseltilmektedir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Source olarak +300mA, sink olarak -500mA sürme akımı kapasitesine sahiptir. Stand-by durumunda 100mW'dan daha az güç harcamaktadır.&lt;br /&gt;

Görüldüğü gibi, dirençle akım sınırlama maliyet olarak en düşük çözüm olmakla birlikte, getirdiği dezavantajlar ve düşük verimlilik nedeniyle en alt sırada yer almaktadır. Diğer çözümlerde ise verimlilik ve maliyet artarken aynı zamanda devre tasarımı daha karmaşık bir hal almaktadır.&lt;br /&gt;

Barajlarda üretilen elektrik kablolar üzerinden ev ve iş yerlerimize taşınmaktadır. İletim mesafesi büyüdükçe kabloların iç direncinden kaynaklanan kayıplarda artmaktadır. Bu nedenle baraj çıkışında 154.000V (154kV)'a çevrilen elektrik enerjisi belirli bölgelerde kurulan trafo merkezlerinde 110V veya 230V AC voltaja çevrilir. &lt;br /&gt;

Türkiye'nin de içinde bulunduğu Avrupa ülkeleri ve dünyanın büyük bir bölümünde 230Vac kullanılırken Kuzey Amerika ve Japonya gibi ülkelerde 110Vac şebeke voltajı kullanılmaktadır.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ev ve iş yerlerimizde ki prizlerde hazır bulunan 230Vac gerilim, bizim tasarladığımız devrelerin çalıştırılabilmesi için uygun bir değer değildir. 24V, 12V, 5V vb. DC gerilim değerlerine çevrilmelidir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Bunun için günümüzdeki en verimli yöntem; elektrik enerjisinin önce manyetik enerjiye daha sonra yeniden elektrik enerjisine çevrildiği tranformasyon sistemidir. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Bugün de kullanılmaya devam eden saçlı trafolar bu sistemin ilk malzemeleridir. Primer (primary) sargısına uygulanan elektrik enerjisi saç ferritler üzerinde manyetik enerjiye çevrilirken aynı fazda sekonder (secondary) sargılar üzerinde indüklenir ve elektrik enerjisine çevrilir.&lt;br /&gt;

Ancak şebeke frekansının 50/60Hz. olmasından dolayı bu trafolarda verim çok düşüktür. Diğer bir deyişle kayıplar çok fazladır. Bu nedenle günümüzün modern sistemlerinde önce AC gerilim DC'ye çevrilir ve çok yüksek frekansta anahtarlanarak tekrar AC gerilime dönüştürülür. Bu yüksek frekanslı AC gerilim çok daha küçük boyutta transformatörler vasıtası ile istenilen değer(ler)e çevrilir.&lt;br /&gt;

Bu tarzda çalışan güç kaynaklarına Anahtarlamalı Güç Kaynakları (Switch Mode Power Supply - SMPS) diyoruz. SMPS'ler temelde primary (giriş) ve secondary (çıkış) bölümlerinin birbirinden izole olup olmamasına göre:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1- Non-Isolated (Galvanic izolasyonsuz) ve&lt;br /&gt;
2- Isolated (Galvanic izolasyonlu) olmak üzere ikiye ayrılırlar.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Bir sonraki yazımda Non-Isolated SMPS devreleri hakkında bilgi verip bunlardan ilki olan Buck sistemleri inceleyeceğiz. Her topoloji tanımından sonra örnek bir devre tasarımını birlikte yaparsak konunun daha iyi anlaşılacağını umuyorum.&lt;br /&gt;

It is designed with a built-in LED driver and has a negative temperature coefficient to protect LEDs from thermal runaway at extreme voltages and currents. The 350 milliamp (mA) ± 10% steady state regulation current (Ireg) is ideal for driving 1.0 W LEDs; for applications requiring 2.0 W LEDs, two of the NSI50350A CCRs can be placed in parallel. The device has an operating temperature range of −55 °C to +175 °C.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="background-color: white; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; margin-top: 15px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"&gt;The NSI50350A requires no external components allowing it to be designed as either a high or low-side regulator. Merhaba, blogumdaki ilk yazıma, ledli uygulamalarınızda oldukça işinize yarayacağını düşündüğüm, "&lt;i&gt;sabit akım regülatörü&lt;/i&gt;" ve "&lt;i&gt;led sürücü&lt;/i&gt;" olarak kullanabileceğiniz &lt;b&gt;NSI45020AT1G&lt;/b&gt; ile başlıyorum.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Bildiğiniz gibi ledlerden uzun bir süre boyunca ve aynı parlaklık seviyesinde faydalanabilmek için led üreticilerin bize bildirmiş olduğu uygun öngerilimleme ve sabit akım değerlerini mutlaka sağlamamız gerekmektedir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Örneğin, aşağıdaki tabloda "&lt;i&gt;Cree®&lt;/i&gt;" firmasının "&lt;i&gt;Screen Master® 4-mm Oval LED&lt;/i&gt;" ürününe ait teknik bilgileri görebilirsiniz.&lt;br /&gt;

Uygulamamızda kırmızı ledleri tercih ettiğimizi düşünürsek, 3 adet seri bağlı ledden oluşan bir devrede; &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2(V) * 3 (adet) = 6V besleme gerilimine ve 20mA sabit akıma ihtiyacımız olduğunu tablodan görebiliriz.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Burada hemen, 6V / 20mA = 300R değerinde bir direnci, hat üzerine seri bağlayarak, devre akımını sınırlandırabileceğimizi düşünülebilir. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Evet teorik olarak bu doğrudur. Ancak pratikte akım sınırlandırmayı dirençlerle yapmak bir çok dezavantajı da beraberinde getirir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Besleme geriliminin değişmesi ile seri hattan geçen akımında değişmesi,&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Isının yükselmesine bağlı olarak devreden geçen akım değerinin azalması,&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- İstenilen sabit akımı sağlayacak direnç değerinin kolaylıkla temin edilememesi veya bu değeri elde etmek için seri/paralel bağlantılar gerekmesi, &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
gibi bazı temel sebepleri burada sıralayabiliriz.&lt;br /&gt;
