Calculating The Green GDP

New work for Corporate Knights magazine comes out today. The article is on calculating a GDP which reflects that net losses of Environmental degradation. These loses are estimated at 2 – 4.5 Trillion Globally. An estimated — This part info graphic, part conventional illustration was a creative way to approve the piece that made sense.

Managing Editor Jon-Erik Lappano and I, actually used to make a lot of these sorts of black board drawings when we were in High School together.

SHIP & GRARDEN MAG – Education Forum

In another first, I recently worked with Joanna Ritgen from Fresh Art and Design, and was ale to produce this cover for Education Forum. — This turned out great, but I have to confess was pretty easy to conceive, because the article is about mixing the metaphors of the Ship and Garden, so there was not too much brain power needed on my end.

I was very pleased to get my first job with Las Vegas Weekly last month. The piece was on Twistival, an international meet and great for local Tweeters and fundraisers. — I fill like this busy and colour saturated piece turned out really well, and I love the way the Tweet bubbles turned out.

Short Fiction: Keys

Here’s a series of three illustrations I did for a piece of short fiction, keys. The piece is a about a man with a paralyzing phobia of keys. (scary stuff, hey?). More tragic then horrific, the keys destroy his relationship with the woman he loves.

John Boehner on Climate Change

Portrait of speaker of the house, Republican John Boehner; an avowed climate change “skeptic”.

The work above is a personal piece of my own, inspired by the recent New Yorker profile by Peter J. Boyer. Boehner; a tax loathing small business advocate, is a smoker with “Don Draper like hair”, a propensity for golf, liquor, and corporate cheques, who is mostly famous for his orange tan, and crying a lot. He has said on climate change, “I think the notion that CO2 is a harmful substance is laughable. — It’s what plants produce!”

He is now — since the Republican resurgence in the November mid terms — 3rd in line to the President.
