Jackson Peebles Chosen for WMU "Smart Ride" Campaign

Jackson Peebles has been selected for Western Michigan University's "Smart Ride" Campaign as part of their partnership with The Image Group in increasing enrollment of academically talented individuals. Jackson has been featured on a billboard off of Interstate 94.

Furthermore, he has been featured in commercials airing at Celebration Cinema, Rave Motion Pictures, and numerous other movie theaters across the state, and potentially other states. He will also likely be featured on Western Michigan University's homepage at some point in the near future, as his promotional short video is already available on YouTube.

Western Michigan University, the Lee Honors College, The Western Michigan University Alumni Association, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Pi Kappa Phi have collectively awarded Jackson Peebles $51,700.00 USD towards his undergraduate tuition, room and board, and applicable fees. The package further includes admission to the university's honors program and enhanced exposure to administration officials and other beneficial programs as well as promotion on the university's official website and in applicable press releases and promotions.

Jackson Peebles announced that he is "honored to have the opportunity to focus on my education rather than the financial nuisances that tend to hinder academic success." He plans to study Behavioral Science and Biomedical Science in a dual-degree program.

Graduated Suma Cum Laude from Mattawan High School

Jackson Peebles has graduated from Mattawan High School with High Honors and Suma Cum Laude Status, the highest distinction formally available from the Mattawan Consolidated School District. He has a weighted GPA of 4.200 and, throughout the duration of his secondary schooling, he has completed 11 Advanced Placement courses that are certified by the College Board, passing all of these university-level exams that he chose to participate in and earning the equivalent of over 30 credits at some tertiary institutions throughout the state.

Jackson also served as his class's president and had the opportunity to speak at graduation. His numerous other leadership experiences included being SADD president, the Model United Nations Head Delegate, and the Varsity Track Captain, among other roles.

He has been awarded the College Board AP Scholar with Distinction Award in 2011 and the College Board AP Scholar with Honor Award in 2010. Furthermore, he was a 2011 Kalamazoo Gazette Student Achiever and has been recognized by numerous other publications, both for his achievements and for his editorial articles.
