What more can we say about a president who is very much incapacitated with failing (I mean failed) health and still does not want to give up the seat of presidency? Here we have those who makes law and passes law into action who cannot do anything about this because a woman has become powerful than the entire citizen of the nation. Haba. This is more than meet the eyes. Are we even sure Yar’adua is still alive? We heard that he returned in the dead of the night. We are not even sure what returned. How can we know when no one has been given access to know the truth about all these? The people we can hold responsible for information about the president comes out in the open to tell us lies. When did it become a way of life that the citizen is fed with lies?

How long shall we continue in this? She na like this we go dey dey? (Are we meant to remain like this?) If we were to be categorized by the international body, we will be categorized as a developing nation but here we are retrogressing day by day. I can’t keep been pessimistic. Even when I choose to be optimistic always, there are times when I need to be realistic. This goes for all Nigerians. We do not have to be pessimistic. Being a realist gives us the fortitude to do the right things we need to do. Only then will the desire of our heart for Nigeria become a reality.

All these situations are more that our physical or mental nature can handle. We are not here of our own. It’s time to stand in the gap on behalf of our nation. We won’t be the first to do this neither shall we be the last. History has the records of nations who were on the verge destruction but had a turnaround because the people who loved the nation prayed. If we truly love this nation, we will pray. You might say that you have been praying for this nation since God knows when. You are not left out, I’ve been praying for Nigeria since I know Nigeria. I even organized a mini National Day of Prayer where I implored those involved to pray for Nigeria all through the month of October.

Anyway, it is time to pray critical prayers for our nation. I won’t say list the prayers we need pray. I don’t want to impress my thoughts on you. That will not be effective. The bible makes me understand that the heartfelt and fervent prayer of the righteous makes power available. It makes power to turns things around for good available. It empowers those who are powerless and gives them the ability to accomplish greater thing for themselves and their nation. In essence, I’m imploring you to take a few minutes out after reading this to the end. With the few minutes, you will need to seriously think on all that is happening in Nigeria, how it affects people, how it is affecting you and how it your children and those yet unborn. While doing this, you will find yourself generating prayer points. This is the basis for heartfelt prayers. Please write them down and pray on them daily until you see the prayers coming to pass. This is the basis for the fervent prayer.

There is fire on the mountain! We don’t have to run. All we need to do is to stand on our knees, pray to God who will quench the fire on the mountains with rain from above. It is so critical. We all need to stop running and face our challenges and bring God’s power into the mix. We don’t need to turn 360 degrees. That will be too much of work. All we have to go is 180 degrees. Our little act of heartfelt and fervent prayer will make much power available for us to turn the situation of our nation around.

I believe in the breaking forth of a brand new nation where her citizens are celebrated all over the world. I still believe in a nation which will be the world most desirable place to live in. I still believe in a nation where the voice of her people will be like the voice of God. I still believe in a nation who will lend to many nation and not borrow from any. I still believe in a black nation who will be filled with wealthy citizens. I still believe in a nation where bad roads, epileptic power supply and the like will become a thing of the past. I still believe. What about you?

Till we all come to the fullness of a New Nigeria in all ramification, don’t decrease the tempo of your heartfelt and fervent prayer. And if you think we should incorporate Nigeria National Days of Prayer into our nation’s calendar, let me know. We can make that happen. All we need is one voice.

Before Starting Affiliate Marketing

The secret of success in affiliate marketing is to focus on one method. There are too many affiliate marketing networks you can join and there are way too many products and services you will want to market. You will get lost if you don’t focus on one type of product or service. You need to work yourself up and become an expert at one method first before considering others.

Picking an Affiliate Offer

You will probably be asking yourself, which of these hundred of offers you should promote. It really can be overwhelming at times having to go through the hundreds of offers that an affiliate network offers. In all these, you need to ask yourself, which offer you really want to promote. You need to get it into you that you cannot promote all.

For you to choose good offers, many affiliate networks have a list of their top offers. These top offers are grouped for each marketing method. You should pick your first offer from the list of top offers. Before you finally start making profit from the affiliates, you will need to establish a relationship with some of the affiliate companies. You will be given a manager. Your affiliate manager will be the one to provide you with more of the information you need. Ask them question pertaining to the type of product you have chosen.

One important thing I want you to take into consideration is this. Recently, there has been more “free trial” offers. Free trials are good but you won’t make good use of them for a start. It’s better you start with a lead generating offer (referring people to sign up for a membership site or for a training) or sales offer (selling people product or service to others). With lead generation offers, you don’t need a website or landing page (a website that is a sales page for the affiliate offer). You serve as a link between those who need a thing and those who wants to meet that need.

In my little journey through affiliate marketing, I have come across few categories that work well. Picking an affiliate offer from any of these categories is another way for of picking the right offers. The categories that work well are the ones that meet a specific need. These are the categories where people who have a problem come to for solution. These types of offers include: Health products, Foreclosures, Debt Reliefs, Dating, Physical appearance (acne, weight loss, hair restoration, etc), Software, How to manuals etc

The best affiliate product you can promote is the one which has a large number of people desperate to have the product. If you see a newer offer that solves a common problem, I would highly recommend trying that offer out.

You may not like this, but I need to let you know. It is not everybody that succeeds in affiliate marketing. Failing is a part of affiliate marketing. It is not possible you succeed at every marketing campaign you create. It is part of what makes affiliate marketing what it is. You need perseverance and commitment to get the best out of affiliate marketing.

It is not all campaign I create that brings me success. But when you become successful in one, it covers all the ones you have failed at. However, there is more success rate that failure rate. If the rate of failure is more than the rate of success, I won’t be doing a guide on affiliate marketing. Successful campaigns generate more than enough.

Keep in mind, when you first start, affiliate marketing can be discouraging. Keep persevering and you will see success if you continue following both the advice in this guide.

Who needs the product/service?

There will always be a set of people interested in what you are marketing that the others. Targeting this set of people is the best method that guarantees success. For example, if you’ve picked out a health offer, you would know that generally the set of people you will target is those that need healing and those that need to maintain their health.

There are some free tools that can help you to determine what set of people to target for each offer you may want to promote.

These free tools are;

1. Quantcast. Log on to Quantcast.com and enter the domain name of the offer. You will get a statistic that tells you which set of people really needs the product/service been marketed on that website.

You’ll see an index number next to each statistic. This index number is a comparison among the web average. Anything over 100 is above average for that set of people, under 100 is below average.

2. Google adplanner. Google Adplanner is a bit complicated to use. This is because it has a lot more in-depth information and research capabilities.

Where is your marketplace?

Simply out, your marketplace is your website/blog or landing page. Often times, I read a lot of people who says you don’t need a website to do affiliate marketing. Where do you want to market the product/services you have for sale. You can just stick somewhere and expect people to trust what you have to offer. You can’t set up a free website/blog and expect a great sale.

You should get your own domain name and unlimited hosting. This gives you credibility and the opportunity to create your own marketplace to your own taste. You can get a free domain + unlimited hosting for as low as $10 with www.GoDaddy.com.

The benefit of having your own marketplace (website/blog) is that you would be able to place ads on them. These ads can be a banner, a text link or an article about the product. The ads on your site will contain your affiliate links which redirects to your advertisers page (the offer page). It is on your marketplace that the set of people who needs the product/service comes to make purchase.

With your own domain name and hosting, you will be able to track people that showed interest in the product or service you are marketing on your website/blog. You can use a free tracking tool that will help you to track your campaigns in much greater detail. One of such tools is found at www.prosper202.com.

The reason why I was offline is a mix of positive and negative situations. Positive I rejoice about. Negative I learn from. Life is a lesson we learn by living it. The best way to develop in every way is to get involved squarely in what we have to do. I have also learned that, what is worth doing at all is worth overdoing. This is the summary of why I have been offline.

Majorly, I am involved in a project which gives me little time to be online like I used to. I may not go in-depth to the details of who the project is for. However, the project is all about IT System Automation and Network Management. We are implementing this for some clients here in Nigeria. I must let you know that I love what we are doing as much as I love blogging. The lesson I have come to learn is that, it is time for me to stretch myself and accomplish more. This is very possible and I will make that happen.

I need to let you know that my blog is official one year old today. Yes, just one year old. To celebrate this day, I will be doing a free guide to affiliate marketing over the next 6 weeks. It will interest you to know that I have done a good research before I came up with doing a course on Affiliate marketing. This is because I don’t want to give you junk to eat on my blog’s birthday. Also, one good thing about this is that, I am also learning as the course will be delivered each week. I am not yet a master of affiliate marketing but I am doing well already. I only need to do more by helping you do better. Today, we will be starting with an introduction to affiliate marketing. Introduction

The essence of studying affiliate marketing on this blog is two ways. One, to fulfill my passion of giving quality information on internet marketing. Two, to teach you how you can make money online with affiliate marketing. You should know that affiliate marketing is one of the ways through which I make money online. The models I will teach in this guide are completely legitimate methods that I use to make money online.

I am not promising you a get rich quick scheme of making money online but a get rich sure scheme of making money online. If you follow this guide consciously and you put what you learn into action, you will surely reap good stuffs online. Making money with affiliate marketing is not automatic. It is not a “start-forget-reap” method. It requires smart and hard work.

Now, What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is all about informing and selling someone else’s or someone’s company products or services to people who need them in exchange for a commission (generally, money). Affiliate marketing involves selling alone. You get paid for every product or service you sell. The major work you do is to get a lead that eventually buys the product or service you are marketing. Your “lead-to-sale” is monitored by the owner of the product or service so as to ascertain that you are the one that made the sale. You are given an affiliate link which most times looks ugly for search engine bots. This in essence will make you code the link to make it look beautiful. Anybody that buys the product or service through your affiliate link will generate you a commission (which is most times between 5% – 70% of the product or service).

You might ask, where do I get products or services to market as an affiliate? You need not worry because they about on the internet. One good way to find them is through affiliate networks. These are companies which serve as intermediary between the companies (advertisers) that wants to sell and the affiliate (publishers) that wants to help sell for commissions. These affiliate networks gives you access to many advertisers looking for publishers. Once you sign up with these affiliate networks, you are given all the list of your potential advertisers. It is these affiliate networks that makes payment to you.

Affiliate networks usually pay their affiliates faster than a direct company. You get paid weekly or in the space of two weeks. One thing is that you don’t need to pay membership fees to become a part of an affiliate network. They make their own money taking a small percentage from the commissions you generate as an affiliate. What they take does not make a huge difference to your income. Affiliate networks are the best places to start in your affiliate marketing career. Please note: Some affiliate networks does not allow people from other nation (most especially does not in US). The key is joining an affiliate network that does not restrict you from being a member. While many others require you to call them on phone before they grant you access to join them.

Many others don’t accept/approve your registration because of your website statistics. Statistics like, how old is your blog? How many visits do you get daily? And what is your blog’s focus? If you have no website/blog, you can put a forum or social network to which you belong to and explain in the comments section why you will be doing so. So many affiliate networks are out there, be wise and stick with the tried and true affiliate networks (I will be showing you the ones I have tried and tested later in this course).

After signing up as an affiliate with many direct marketers or affiliate networks, don’t just sit and expect things to work. I was once like that. I thought I will make money from affiliate network by just signing up. You need to do the very act of selling. Write about the product or service, put your affiliate link in the write up and drive traffic to where you have the write up. If you can’t drive traffic then buy traffic from many traffic sources. Buying traffic is the key to having huge success in affiliate marketing. Instead of having to wait for the visitors to come to where your write ups are, you should go out and find websites where you can buy traffic. The only way you buy traffic is to look for websites/blogs that allows you to buy Ads on the website/blog. Buy the ads space on as many as you can and place your affiliate links on those sites. I offer ad spaces on my blog which is as lows as $10 per month. It is sure to bring you traffic. With that you can test multiple offers and see if it’s going to work for you. So the general idea for affiliate marketing is buying ads at a low enough cost that you have a difference in your cost and the amount of commissions that those ads generated.

Whether you have never had your tweets retweeted or that you don’t have your tweets constantly retweeted, you should be rest assured that this post will teach you how to get consistent retweets. There are various ways by which this can be done. Out of all these method, there is one I use consistently. It has been my major source of ReTweets. Once I write a post and put it where it’s supposed to be, I get loads of ReTweets from friends and followers on twitter. This leads to an increase in my twitter followers and friends.

This method is simply signing up and becoming a member of social clubs that abound on the internet. The social clubs gives you a win-win situation. You win and all other members of the social club wins too. Once you have a motive of helping others, others will be willing to help you too.

There are loads of social clubs out there. I will only make mention of two that I vouch for. One of such social club is the one created by my friend, Daniel Scocco of DailyBlogTips.com. The name of his social club is

The requirements are as follows;

1. Only one request per week (per member).

3. You will be getting members request for retweet in your email address. To this effect, You don’t have to reply the retweet request. All you need do is to retweet what they send. Once you reply the retweet request, all the members of the group will get your reply.

4. Spamming of members email address is not allowed. If any member gets an email or the likes from a member, he or she should report to the admin. Whosoever spammed emails will be removed from the group without prior notice.

Today, we’re announcing the next generation of ad serving technology for online publishers — DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP).

For the past few years, we’ve been investing in a suite of solutions — AdSense, ad-serving technology and the DoubleClick Ad Exchange — to help online publishers make the most money possible from their content, whether they sell advertising directly through their own sales force, through an ad network such as AdSense, or a combination of both.

For major online publishers — including social networks and online communities, entertainment sites, e-commerce sites and news sites — managing, delivering and measuring the performance of ads on their websites can be a hugely complicated process. A publisher’s ability to manage this process can have a significant impact on how much money they make from their online content.

Imagine you’re a major online publisher with a popular global surfing website and an ad sales team. Every second of every day, you have difficult decisions about what ads to show and how to measure their relative performance. For example:

In the same ad space, a surfboard wax advertiser may want to run a static image ad for your Australian readers, while an airline offering flights to Hawaii may want to run an expandable interactive ad for your American readers.

A fast-food restaurant wants to run their burger ads before noon and their pizza ads in the afternoon.
You’ve sold 10 different surfboard makers a million ad slots at slightly different prices; now you have to allocate them across your various webpages to fulfill all these orders over the next two weeks.
One of your surfing tournament reviews is linked to by a popular news site and you have a surge in traffic. Your sales team couldn’t predict this, so you’re potentially left without any ads for thousands of readers. You want to fill this ad space by selling it via an ad network which has ads available.

This is really just scratching the surface. Managing ad space can involve faxes, emailed orders, the manual scheduling of different ad campaigns across multiple sites and difficult decisions about how to allocate ad space most effectively.

Major online publishers use ad serving technology to manage the complex process of how and when the ads they have sold appear on their websites. In recent years, we’ve invested significantly in our ad serving products — DoubleClick’s DART for Publishers for large publishers and Google Ad Manager for growing publishers. Thousands of major online publishers use these products to serve billions of ad impressions every day.

But we see an opportunity to improve ad serving even further by combining Google’s technology and infrastructure with DoubleClick’s display advertising and ad serving experience. Since we acquired DoubleClick in March 2008, our engineering and product teams have been working with online publishers to tackle the obstacles that prevent them from maximizing revenues from their websites.

The upgraded DFP includes a wide variety of features that will help publishers to get the most value out of their online content:

- A new interface that has been completely redesigned to save time and reduce errors.

- Far more detailed reporting and forecasting data to help publishers understand where their revenue is coming from and what ads are most valuable.

- Sophisticated algorithms that automatically improve ad performance and delivery.

- A new, open, public API which enables publishers to build and integrate their own apps with DFP, or integrate apps created for DFP by a growing third-party developer community (apps under development today include sales, order management and workflow tools).

- Integration with the new DoubleClick Ad Exchange’s “dynamic allocation” feature, which maximizes revenue by enabling publishers to open up their ad space to bids from multiple ad networks. Dynamic allocation is described in this document [PDF].

DFP comes in two flavors, tailored for different publishers’ needs: DoubleClick for Publishers, for the largest online publishers, and DFP Small Business, a simple, free version designed for growing online publishers. We’ll be upgrading current DART for Publishers publishers to DoubleClick for Publishers over the next year as we continue to add features and modules, and we’ll be moving Google Ad Manager customers to DFP Small Business in the coming weeks.

To reflect our continued investment in DoubleClick’s products, as well as the central role of DoubleClick’s technology products within Google’s display advertising business, we’re also today unveiling some changes to the DoubleClick logos — including typeset changes, incorporating a new “by Google” theme and retiring the “DART” brand.
