It’s been six years since she suddenly left, but Star Jones returned to “The View” Wednesday for an interview, and was welcome back with open arms.

“I can say this genuinely: I am so happy to welcome back Star Jones!” co-host Barbara Walters told the audience.

During her two-part interview, at some urging from Walters, Jones hesitantly explained why she left the show in 2006.

“Are we really going to go here, Barbara? Do we care at this point? I honestly don’t,” Jones said, before proceeding to give her account of the situation.

If you’re not familiar with the story, Star Jones left “The View” amid a ton of controversy.

Apparently, ABC didn’t renew her contract after she had a falling out with Barbara Walters, so she fired back by announcing the next day on live TV that she would be leaving the show in a move that shocked all of her roundtable co-hosts.

“It was ugly,” Jones told Walters she remembered of the aftermath. “It was a bad emotional time. I made the decision that I wanted to go out on my own terms so that when I walked back in here, if I were ever invited, I would feel good about coming in.”

She continued, “I had eight fantastic years here — one was ‘Eh’ — I came back to congratulate you on all you accomplished; I hope you congratulate me on what I accomplished.”

The ladies also talked about the pink elephant in the room, aka Jones’ controversial 2003 gastric bypass surgery, which she vehemently denied up until 2007 in an interview.

“We tried to protect you. We were told, ‘Don’t say it was gastric. Say it was Pilates and portion control,’ Behar said, jokingly noting, “You are now a skinny b*tch — congratulations!”

Barbara added, “We did lie for you,” to which Star humorously responded, “Who cares? I look good.”

Babs later told Jones, “You look great. You look healthy. And we really are happy that you’re back.”

Re-united and it feels so good…

Here is the result of Megan Fox’s trip to Turkey last month to film a commercial for Doritos.  In fact, the product itself seems to be Fritos Shots, not Doritos, and the commercial takes place at something called the Doritos Academy.  Thanks to commenter Mandyfofox who I noticed posted a link to the video.

Comcast officially announced yesterday that they will be working with Sean “Diddy” Combs and Earvin “Magic” Johnson to launch their own branded cable channels!

The move comes as part of a congressional mandate given to Comcast to support TV networks owned by minorities. The independently owned channels will be broadly distributed to Comcast Cable systems between July 2012 and July 2014.

Diddy’s new network will be called “Revolt,” and will reportedly target young people. The channel is set to launch in 2013.

According to the a press release from the network:

REVOLT is a revolution in music on television, a place where artists and their viewers come together and engage with technology and social media. It’s a channel where new artists can share their work in the way it was meant to be: raw, uncut, and uncensored. REVOLT was selected by Comcast to be the first music network to truly leverage the power of social media, fueling the live music dialogue and influencing the music culture for the video-centric generation.

Also launching their very own cable channel is Magic Johnson.

His TV network, called “Aspire,” will focus on what Johnson himself calls positive, uplifting images of African-Americans. The network will launch sometime in 2012.

Magic Johnson said in a statement, “Aspire will be a network that encourages and challenges African-Americans to reach for their dreams and will appeal to all generations. Aspire will celebrate our heritage, our groundbreaking achievements and the fearless talent that has shaped American culture. I’m most excited about Aspire creating opportunities for the new voices, new visions and the next generation of storytellers.”

Lots of people are comparing Diddy and Magic Johnson’s move to launch their own networks to Oprah launching her own network last year. However, hers isn’t doing so well right now, so it will definitely be interesting to see how this goes for Diddy and Magic.

Friends of Chris Brown and Rihanna are said to be “terrified” that the singers will get back together soon, and according to TMZ, they are doing everything they can to stop them from re-uniting.

Sources close to the ex couple tell the website that despite everything that went on in the past, Rihanna is still “head over heels” for Chris … and she would have already taken him back if it weren’t for the media and her fans.

Chris is no different, and he too has “strong feelings” for Rihanna, despite him being in a relationship with aspiring model Karrueche Tran.

TMZ reports:

According to sources, friends on BOTH sides have expressed extremely strong reservations to Ri and CB about spending so much time together … warning it’s a terrible idea … personally AND professionally.

Chris and Rihanna shocked the world this week when they released not just one, but TWO songs together: the remix to Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake” single, as well as the remix to Chris’ new “Turn Up the Music” single.

Now it’s beginning to sound like doing music together was just the beginning.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see where this new “thing” between the two of them goes from here…

In promotion of his new film “Good Deeds,” Tyler Perry made a recent appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”
While on the show, Perry announced a new Madea play called “Madea Gets a Job,” and talked about performing live shows, providing free auditions on the web, and once convincing Oprah to board his private plane.

Tyler also took Jimmy up on a game of remote-control fish.

During his epic interview, X spoke on his former friend Jay-Z, once pretending to be a cop, his hate for Drake, and more.

“I don’t like anything about Drake,” he said when asked about the Young Money rapper. “I don’t like his f**king voice. I don’t like what he talks about. I don’t like his face. I don’t like the way he walks. Like, nothing. I don’t like his haircut. I might just… Let me shut up, I’ll just stop right there.”

The National Enquirer — that filthy rag that sits on newsstands as you’re checking out at grocery stores and pharmacies — has placed a highly controversial image of late singer Whitney Houston on the cover of their latest issue.

The image, dubbed “Whitney’s Last Photo” and apparently taken inside the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey, shows the R&B icon laying in her golden casket.

According to the Enquirer, Whitney was wearing her favorite purple dress, $500,000 worth of jewelry and golden slippers. The word “Nippy” — her childhood nickname — was embroidered above her head in the casket’s silk lining.

No word on how much money the magazine gave a member of Whitney’s camp/family (or a funeral home staff member) for the photo, which we believe to be very distasteful, and all around just WRONG.

The image was clearly unauthorized and if her family wanted people to see Whitney in this state, then her private funeral service — which was televised — would have had an open casket.

“Too soon” almost seems appropriate here … but doing something like this isn’t out of character for the Enquirer, who regularly ridiculed Houston and showed her in her darkest moments throughout the latter parts of her life. Now they actually have a picture of her dead.

The “death photo” (or “coffin photo”) comes just a week after NE hired an actress to pose in the position that Whitney was reportedly found in after she was pulled out of the bathtub, and actually published the image to the front cover of the gossip rag.

Whitney Houston died on February 11th — the day before the Grammys — after her bodyguard found her unresponsive in the bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.
