I have been constantly shooting film for the last year and half and my newest edition to my camera family is the Voigtländer Brilliant.
The motivation behind me getting this particular camera came from a magazine(will remain unnamed) that released the top 100 influential photographers of all time.

What baffled me was the exclusion of some notable names but the one that spoke the loudest to me was the fact Gordon Parks was not included. What I did was do? Get ‘my research on’, I went to wikipedia to find that Gordon Parks first camera was the Voigtländer Brilliant back in 1937. I headed over to eBay and found the camera and bought. Wasn’t sure if it worked and brought it to The Remix Project and shot off some portraits. Much to my utmost excitement it works and here is a portrait of Thomas aka @fcktg (A graduate of The Remix Project) from the camera.

I definitely will be creating a body of work with this camera.

During the same day that I shot Lily I shot Nadine on the rooftop of the building my buddies at BizMedia Agency.

Really enjoy shooting these simple moments.

I first met Lily when I was shooting for MAC Cosmetics at the IIFA Awards at the Rogers Centre (ahem Skydome) she was modeling for the show and I was shooting behind the scenes for MAC Cosmetics. She would come to the studio and we always had a good rapport so last week I asked Laura at Sutherland if I could shoot her and we made it happen. It was a quite session no styling no make up just Lily and I really love what came out from the shoot.

For my latest tear I got published into the amazing Marie Clare in France for their October issue for a story on my friend Jérémy Tarian whom I shot his latest ‘Faces’ lookbook, campaign that you can view here.

Jalani Morgan was invited to speak at Seneca College this month to address the topic of ‘Living and Learning in Media and Technology’.

His presentation to the students centered around about his experience and successes as a working artist. Jalani gave students the inside track on how he was able to make his dream come to life by maximizing the skills he had and his commitment to growth and honing those skills. The subject expanded into his description of how technology enabled him get to where he is today and how keeping on the cusp of developments in technology in his field have allowed him to progress quickly and efficiently. His key take-way to students was to always be open to learning and personal development, evolution is key.

Jalani and Hermann & Audrey were very excited to be invited as part of this speaking series.

I was commissioned by Gloria Stein – Installation Artist to shoot her installation plus her Artist Co-Op for this years Nuit Blanche. Due to the success of the event they are having an encore viewing of Gloria’s piece – “CANYON” if you have a chance on tuesday visit it.

A couple of months ago I was on twitter feeling to dump my thoughts on the twitter stream and slowly I did that one night. That same night Stuart Thursby (@sthursby ) – Art Director at Promixity messages me that he was inspired by my words and a few days later he delivers this poster that he has printed in his office. 

Stuart sent me a photo of the poster at his office at Proximity Canada. Very cool! Very flattered.

I have literally wanted to work for Myles McCutcheon for over 2 years and finally that happened when I got the call from him to shoot the mother of Triston Thompson – NBA 4th overall from this years NBA draft. Myles is the photo editor of the newly released Sportsnet Magazine which was released today! I am very grateful for the chance to be in the first issue of such an important magazine. Canada has it’s first all sports magazine and I get to be apart of it.

My very fashion forward Aunt Sharon Pompey is coming out with her very own boot and naturally I shot her product shot for her soon to be released website. I’ll be speaking on it a little more later on.

When I was shooting them that day Kirtsten from Next Models was already here at the studio and really loved them so I figured it would be a good chance to shoot a portrait of her with them. Nice look. Could be an inspiration!
