This is a real email I just sent DirecTV.

How many times, DirecTV? How many times do I have to call to get my $215.33 refunded to my credit card? I made an erroneous order, I called to correct it, the installer showed up with the original gear and I was charged $215.33 on 9/15/09. I have called FOUR times to have this resolved, and every time your customer service person says they guarantee my problem has been resolved; half the time they say I'll get a refund, half the time they say you won't bill me for three months.

How about you guys don't bill me at all until it's resolved? Or how about I stop paying? I'm sure you wouldn't let me off the hook. Can I tack some late fees onto my $215.33 that you owe me? How about $39/month? That sounds fair. So that'll be $215.33 plus six months at $39/mo...please refund $449.33 to my credit card as soon as possible. Call me or email me if you have any questions.

Tiger's "Addiction"

I've stayed out of this Tiger Woods thing ever since it all went down, because I truly don't care. Yes, he lied to us all, yes, we rooted for him because we thought he was a normal good guy who was also the best he is at what he does, and he ended up being a world class piece of ish, but you know what? That's his problem. That's between him and his family and his sponsors (and maybe their shareholders) and Jesus. I truly, madly, deeply do not care about celebrities and who's dating who and Us Weekly, etc., etc. I'm much happier to try to live the life I DO have to the fullest.

That being said...I've had this conversation with a few people lately, and I'm interested to hear anyone else's thoughts on this topic.

If I had not been brought up in the Church, and didn't know Jesus, and didn't have a firm moral grounding given to me by my fantastic parents, and was WAY TOO RICH AND FAMOUS WAY TOO YOUNG, you had better believe that I would have been slaying hoodrats two or three at a time. Why? Because I could and because I would have thought it was fun. That's not sex addiction. That's being young and stupid and doing whatever you feel like. So you're now 30 and you've been getting away with it for ten years, and you have no reason to think you're ever going to get caught (because you've had lots of practice). That's not sex addiction either.

Arrogance? Narcissism? Selfishness? Absolutely.

Sex addiction? I'm not so sure...

So yes, it's been quite a while since I blogged. Basically, Facebook leads to the death of blogging, as most people that were reading this are on Facebook and see me there, where I more or less live-stream the big stuff going on in my life. Nevertheless, here we are. Sorry.

What's happened since I saw Chelsea/Inter Milan at the Rose Bowl in July and got five feet from the FA Cup? Well, first of all we finally got a house in Lake Forest. It's great. Amanda's parents and sister helped us out A LOT, we totally gutted two bathrooms down to the studs and rebuilt them. It came out pretty nice. It's a four bedroom, so I finally got a room for all my music gear. It's nice to be able to practice, have people over to jam, record stuff when it comes to mind, etc. And the house is really starting to feel like home. Thanks to everyone that supported, prayed for, and encouraged us along this process. It means a lot to us.

We've been going to a new (to us) church in the neighborhood (literally 1.2 miles), TerraNova, and it's been going well. They really have a heart for the community; we saw them handing out food at our local Albertsons to needy families, they give cleaning supplies to single mothers, they give coffee cards to teachers in rough schools, etc. Their motto is "Making God's Love Famous," and that's what we knew we were going to be looking for; a church that makes a difference in their/our community.

Other than that, I finally found a DJ to do the drummer/DJ thing with, and we had our first show a couple of weeks ago; it went pretty well. I decided to unjailbreak. It was cool having my name as the carrier, and it was cool having an at-a-glance view of recent emails and upcoming calendar events, and a five-icon dock, and a filling beer instead of a charging battery, but I've decided to unjailbreak. Today, two different times my phone rang, but I couldn't see who was calling, or answer, or anything. Like, Home screen, ringing and vibrating, can't answer.
