Scott and Marie ~ Married!

I was so incredibly excited when Marie first contacted me about her wedding in New Orleans. Although I was born and raised in Louisiana, I have never actually been to New Orleans!! Insane I know, but it’s true! Marie and Scott, in my opinion, had the perfect New Orleans wedding…loaded with lots of Southern Charm and New Orleans traditions. I can not imagine one thing that could have possibly made their wedding any better. The wedding was at the beautiful Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church, followed by a fabulous reception at Pat O’Brien’s. Did you know that Pat O’s has been a staple in the French Quarter since the prohibition? There used to be a password required to get in the door! It wasn’t until 1933 that the current establishment opened for business…how cool is that! The Jazz Band was perfect and the food was oh SO YUMMY!! (shocker) They finished off the night with a “Second Line” through Jackson Square. New Orleans is infamous for its parades and the “second line”, which earned its term from those who made their own parade to follow the main or “first line.” Now the “second line” is used for all sorts of celebrations where the band actually leads the way through the city streets. I really can think of no better way to end your wedding! It was absolutely perfect!

This gal was ADORABLE, and super shy, I never heard her say a word the entire day. When we stepped outside for pics a butterfly landed in her hair. :)
Very few people are naturally comfortable in front of the camera, and I tell almost all of my clients this. Marie is NOT one of those people, she just demanded the camera! Had to get out on the streets of this amazing city! Just stunning, Scott is one lucky man!!This guy walked by with this awesome dog, Marie asked if she could get pics with him and he didn’t hesitate! But who would?? This dog is just awesome, but my favorite part of this picture is the words on the leash! ;)I wasn’t the only one that thought she was stunning…Scott and his mom. :)
These guys were just down right fun! I also have several pics where they dropped their pants…but I don’t think they want those on the blog. LOLThat is one handsome groom!!
This is one of my favorite shots ever. I love so many things about it. The light on the ceiling of the limo, the graffiti on the wall, the beautiful light on her face, and mostly the silhouette of her dad laughing.

Her bridesmaid said “last time you sign this name!” And I love the shot on the right, just before it was her turn to walk down the aisle.This was one amazing church!!! Absolutely beautiful! We didn’t have any time in the church to do pictures because they had a Mass immediately following the ceremony, so we stopped along the way which was just fine by me!!
Then we arrived at Pat O’Briens for the absolute blast of a reception! These guys definitely know how to throw a party!!
We still needed to get pics of the wedding party, so we rounded them all up again and walked across the street for more pics.
The fun never stops…heheheLove love love this shot! And no, I didn’t set this up, I turned around and there they were. Makes me love it even more. :)The traditional cake pull. For those of you who don’t know, this is a Southern tradition where tiny charms, typically made of silver with ribbons attached, were placed inside the cake and the bridesmaids and close friends pull the ribbons out before the cake is cut. Each charm has a special meaning or “fortune” and whomever pulls the charm with a wedding ring is the next to get married. Similar to tossing the bouquet. :)And the bouquet toss. This was no ordinary bouquet toss. Why you say? Because I am fairly certain I already knew who would be catching this bouquet. Because she caught the bouquet at Angela’s wedding in 2010:

And Marie’s bouquet in 2012!!! Whatcha wanna bet she will be tossing her own bouquet in 2013!?!?! (no pressure to her fabulous boyfriend…hehe)
And off they go with the New Orleans Traditional “Second Line”!!! So awesome and so much fun!

Aaron and Natalie ~ Married!

Natalie was an absolutely stunning bride!! Aaron is one lucky man!!! I loved their sweet intimate wedding ceremony at Pulaski Heights Methodist Church, definitely one of the most beautiful churches in Little Rock!! Followed by an amazing reception at the Country Club of Little Rock.

These kids were so stinking adorable!!!
She kept saying “she’s a secret!”
So precious!!!I really do believe the last dance is always better than the first. And I love that it was just the two of them in the room. So sweet!

Oh happy day!!!!

One of my dearest friendships began over five years ago with this photograph…

Suna was in a fashion show that I was shooting for fun and she loved that shot, and many others, so much that she hired me to do some portraits of her for her mom, who lives in Turkey. This was when we officially met and began a beautiful friendship. One of my favs from that session.

And then along came Stephen…

And a portrait session just for him.

And then a couples session, which was NOT an engagement session. They just wanted some casual black and whites, just of them being themselves at home.

And then, I guess a year or so later, they DID get engaged!! (more pics here)

Mark and Kamille ~ Engaged!

I had the pleasure of photographing these two on probably the ONLY really cold day we’ve had this January. But it didn’t phase them, they were laughing from the minute we arrived!! They were so much fun to shoot and clearly adore each other!! Mark brought his trumpet, which made for an awesome prop! I love with the guys get involved and make it their own! But I think my favorite is the way Kamille always refers to Mark as “Mr Dawson,” which ALWAYS makes me think of Mr. Darcy in “Pride and Prejudice,” an all time favorite read.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the 2012 Arkansas Democrat Gazette Bridal Fair! It was a great crowd and the vendors really did it up this year, the booths were bigger and brighter than I have ever seen! I enjoyed getting to meet everyone who came by the booth and have had a great time going through the Photo Booth pictures. I have put together a little slide show of all the images just for fun.
