We are having some fun producing these podcasts, and we bring our fourth episode this week.

For this episode we visited a local restaurant and bar in Old Town, Camarillo called Bandits’ Bar & Grill. We tried to keep it more casual than some of our previous episodes and mainly talked about what we ordered. Beer and BBQ are almost always delicious together, so feel free to order any drink with your food. I highly recommend the Original Tri-Tip Sandwich with a beer. Better yet, go during happy hour and get more than one beer :).

Episode 3 is our first podcast exploring wine and food pairings. For this episode we visit one of our all-time favorite restaurants, Stonefire Grill. The food is delicious, service is outstanding and the pricing cannot be beat.

At Stonefire Grill, the wine list is minimal and the beers are mostly basic domestic beers. It is a family style restaurant, so they don’t focus on the wine. In this episode we talk about the house wines we got with our meals and discuss how they pair with the strong flavors of food served here.

We also discuss the option of bringing your own bottle of wine into the restaurant and paying a corkage fee, which is only $2 at this restaurant according to their website.

Andrea and I are excited to release this first episode of J and A Pairings. This is only the of what we hope to be a fun and exciting experience for you. This weekly podcast will feature wine and beer pairing suggestions as well as general restaurant and pairing information at a new restaurant from mostly Southern California. You will have confidence when ordering at the featured restaurant because we will give specific wine and beer pairings with your food that are served at the restaurant. If you are not in Southern California that is okay, you will learn some of the foundations for pairing foods with drinks that will help you order at any restaurant.

In this episode we only focus on beer pairings because this restaurant is known as a beer restaurant. Future episodes will have a mixture of wine pairings and beer pairings, depending on the restaurant.

In this first episode we visit barrelhouse 101 in Ventura, CA. This is a great restaurant that has a large selection of craft beers, one hundred and one to be exact. In this podcast you will learn about pairing beer with hot wings, burgers, and fish n chips.

When heading to Barrelhouse 101 be sure to go from 4pm-7pm Monday-Friday for Happy Hour. The website also shows an encore Happy Hour on Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm-midnight. Not into beer? Bottomless mimosas on Sundays until 3pm for $12.
