Don't let it consume you

Too much pain, too much hatred, too much of ungratefulness can be very consuming. On your perceptions, kindness, relationships... everything. The healthy way to grow in the harshness of life is probably the ability to shake it off your shoulder and hit the 'reset' button every night before sleep. But we're not machine made, and we often let the emotions, unfairness, and all that negativity build up in us. Until we tweak our personality and values without even realising it.

The song drown me with its familiarity and nostalgia.

"We are not broken, just bent. "

I'd like to believe that we can be fixed.

No, I'd always thought anything and everything could be fixed, could be undone, wound would heal, scar would fade... and eventually, all of us will get to go home, we get to go back to being whoever we were in the first place.

But how true can that be?

One step at a time, I will find my courage, with whatever help that I could find, to get rid of the sense of isolation that I've accumulated within over these years.

Start with trying to be grateful for life. For all the small happenings in life.

Day Trip to Cotswolds

With my rising interest to get into photography recently (probably after watching too many eps of DigitalRevTV), I decided that it's a great opportunity to go outdoor for some good shots when Wayne invited me on very short notice to go for a short road trip with him to Cotswolds. To be completely honest, I'd never put my camera in good use as it's constantly being served in Auto mode. 😬

That few informative video tutorials on Youtube have given me a brief but slightly more substance than what I used to know about apertures, shutter speed, ISO and what not. Took a few shots, with different settings in mind, and though the outcome is not entirely 'pro', I still manage to see the difference already. 😛

Had so much fun being the photographer instead of giving way to my vanity to be 'in' the photo. This marks my first step to join in the amateur photographer wannabe. 😛 Being typical, once I started thinking about the technical stuff, I forgot to plan and think on the composition of the photo. 😪But it's fun. I look forward to improve!

What's the best iPad mini cases?

Hey hey!! Back in action after bumping around different platforms! This time I think I sort of realise that I find myself keep coming back to blogspot so that should mean something, shouldn't it?

Anywaysssss, been wanting to change my iPad mini cover for some time now, as the current one feels kind of bulky in a way.

The leather makes the device much more thicker than it should be, so for someone like me who do NOT like to waste any of my physical energy with technology (because technology is meant to make you feel soooo easy and effortless!), I think I need a really slim case.

After doing a lil bit research here and there, I 'sadly' find that there aren't too many cases that are really slim. Most of it refer back to the basic Apple Smart Cases, be it the original or knockoffs.

I mean, to think about it it is kind of boring, but I guess plain is what makes it more durable that you won't feel the need to change it again and again. But the price point of £55 for a case does set me back a little. When it's just a case that doesn't come with stylus pen.

The next one that caught my eye was the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover.

Having a slim keyboard does tempt me a little, since I'm starting to get really hooked with doing all the work on my iPad. Yet the greed does help to thicken the case slightly, and weighing the needs between slim and convenience, it's just tough choice for me, especially at the price of £69.95, I need more time to think.

Is it normal that I spent so much thoughts in merely deciding which iPad case to buy? LOL.

How I Wear: Dungarees

Dungarees, or overalls,'s comeback has made me a very happy child, for it comprises most of the qualities that I keep going back to-- denim, check. shorts, check. one-piece, check!

Plus it brings back all the childhood memories! If a clothe or fashion item could bring around a nostalgic tinge, I'm all for it. Because why not? vintage is cool and it's a must when it is relatable.

But of course, we shouldn't pair it like we used to with a Mickey Mouse tee (or maybe...we could?). What I'm saying is, we have to avoid looking too childish in it, so pairing is essential. Good thing is Mr. Sunshine finally makes it arrival in UK (and I'm so very glad so please don't ever go) and I can continue to show my love towards crop top.

Been lovin' cropped top and I particularly love pairing it with ripped rugged denim shorts, but I haven't found a perfect ripped shorts that I envisioned in my head yet, so for now, floral it is. Having said that, I think I am a lil' bit back on the schedule of working our for summer body. Well at least I gotta find my abs back, at least.

Been wanting to get into the fashion and art history, and the Style Wars documentary on hip hop and graffiti was a good start. Made me appreciate graffiti art a lil' bit more now.

Learning the history about things really makes you open up your mind and see its beauty, guess the same theory goes with everything in life. You gotta learn to understand people, places, and depth.

Dream: How do you interpret yours?

Today's topic is...: Dream.

Very cliche I know, but it just got me thinking recently. When we first written down our dream job onto the 'ambition' column, we probably didn't have a very clear idea of what we were entering into. Or did we not?

Probably like all most girls, I like everything arts, from photography to performance arts...basically everything that has to do with creativity. Because yes, I think there is no price that you could put on creativity, priceless really. How you interpret something, and how you put your interpretation into picture...just so very inspiring. So for the past few years, my goal has included to create more things, be it anything really...a drawing, a picture, a short film...anything. To me, it means a lot. It sorts of help me release the 'something' in me that makes me feel...useful.

Shy, reserved, quiet... all the adjectives that could drown me just couldn't seemed to leave me alone. So I guess I am scared, and I hid the 'something' away, hoping that no one could ever find it, and I shall never recall its existence. But I guess life doesn't work this way. Well, maybe it could've worked if I'd insisted it to, but if I take one sec of silence to reflect on the current state of my life, I can't say that I'm proud of what I've achieved. And I don't think that's the right approach for life.

I think we live in a new era, where the old traditional way isn't the only way to life. I think creation is the gist of life. So you gotta be good in what you are creating, and I want to at least be able to try. I guess it comes to a point where I know, that there is no way for me to put it away, so, my goal for July will be: to try to push out of my shell and try something that I am afraid of everyday.

Gotta keep the adrenaline moving y'all. :)

Okay, so this post is a bit cheating.

Just figured since I haven't posted for a while, gotta update my presence...

So. Instagram updated their features to include uploading a short like 15 seconds video, which is so my thing. I'm so excited to want to try that on, but didn't really wanna post like the cheesy scenery video, because it'd be so...not creative.

So I've decided to do this quick like OOTD short video, and we filmed outside of our apartment the other day, but guess what? I tried uploading it but the app crashed! So the video couldn't make its entrance into the #firstinstavideo hashtag family! Oh well. So since it didn't make it, Imma upload it here. lol.

We filmed later almost an identical video at the park later (which I later uploaded it on Instagram), but, this first spontaneous take should never die alone. So, here we go!

Reality Show Obsession: The Face

If you don't know already, I am a complete reality-show junkie. From ANTM to Keeping Up with the Kardashians to anything really, I'm all for it. Due to the nosiness in me, I guess. Having said that, here's my recent obsession-- The Face, a reality model search show hosted by our very own supermodel, Naomi Campbell, the sexy Karolina Kurkova, and the very chic Coco Rocha. I know I'm a bit slow on the bandwagon, as the Season 2 Premier is coming up real soon and I'm just getting started.

Gotta say, I am in love with Coco Rocha. She is just amazing! She looks a little bit way too skinny on TV, but her pictures are definitely gorg! Standing by my own belief, chubby face is a no-go :S Love how in these kinda shows, the spirits are constantly pumped up, give me sorts of adrenaline rush... and this sounds a bit creepy lol.

So, for someone like me who's not particularly confident with my pick on floral prints, or prints in general, it's safe to say that polka dots is my safe harbour. That's the only print that I sort of willing to land on.

Fell in love with this polka dot skinny pants when I first came over it! Imagine pairing it with a white pair of oxfords, straw hats and a long strap mini bag. Perfect summer look! You can get the skinny pants here.

Love the vintage vibe that polka dot prints seems to deliver in almost every outfit. Here are some of my favourite celebrity takes:

Blair Waldorf looks as princess as she could in this top pairing with the flowy full skirt.

Taylor Swift looking young and girly yet feminine in this polka dot dress. The hair and the red lips are just a great finish!

Louis Vuitton Spring 2013: Checkered Trend

The Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 which clothes were inspired by the work of Daniel Buren's work that involved a lot of grids, I am in love with most, if not all, of the checkered clothing pieces from the collection.

And celebrities are showing their love by making appearances in different cuts and grids. Of the four above, I am totally lovin' Kristen Stewart who looks absolutely stunning in that.

Found this high waisted short and I knew it'd be a great piece to go with everything even with a sheer tights. Because you can never know with the weather here in the UK :/

Can't believe it's June now. But I'm looking forward to Summer!

FML the time just flew without me. I stood still. Lolol that just doesn't make sense.

So I'm just summing up what I've been loving for this month.

How so ironic. The religious user of sunscreen and sun protection is craving for the sun? You will understand the pain after living under the forever-1'C weather long enough. Seriously. Can never say never.

3. Print bottoms

Okay, I admit now that I am a lil' bit more matured now, I appreciate the fact that my toes should be shy. HAHA what was that? I realised that my toes are not the best shape la, like I appreciate they're not...crooked or anything, but they just meant to be hidden for my personal enjoyment only lolol.

Not what I love, more like one that I should keep my mind on. See that extra cheeks? OMG FML KTHXBYE! Lolol. Okay so I thought I would never gained weight, but I might need to stop being so arrogant and gain back some control. I cannot keep swallowing elephant everyday. By the way, I think I sort of have this artistic manner in my characteristic. Not sure if it should be encouraged, but feeling inspired and act on it is just the best feeling in life.

White on white

Always fascinated by the power of white brings to an outfit. If I could, I would go all white, but yes knowing that it would be too 'catchy' on the street (and my man would be very mad to gain any street human's attention because of me, oh yes he really is -.-) , I paired it with my favourite dark coloured skinny.

Lips candy: Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipsticks and Maybelline Colour Vivid

Since most of the make-up brands has released their Spring 2013 collections, I went to Boots and managed to pick up just a few stuffs. Mostly lip products, which is what this post is about.

Been wanting to get the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks and managed to pick it up finally this time around. Got the matte lipstick, because it just seems to be the most 'Kate' product. And I got it in shade 101.

One thing about matte lipstick is that it accentuates your lip lines. So that's when lip balms come into use. But I kinda like its finishes, probably 'coz it's in quite a light shade, so I doubt if it's nice in darker shades.
One thing that's worth mentioning is that the lipstick smells quite nice, it's very'Kate', well in my opinion. It's fresh and quite sophisticated.

Note the lip lines. Other than that, love the colour.

Then I saw this beautiful ad campaign display over the counter for this lip colour, by Maybelline. And I knew immediately I had to get it. Well okay I kinda hesitated between this Fuschia Flash by Maybelline and the Just Bitten kissable lips by Revlon, which was worn by Emma Stone in her Revlon ad campaign!
After hovering here and there, I decided to still go on with Fuschia Flash, because although they are almost similar colours, Just Bitten is slightly darker and purply.

Super creamy and quite pigmented. I guess I prefer it to be a lil' bit more pigmented and less creamy? 'Coz I fear that the colour is gonna run for its creaminess and for these kind of bright colours I think it should be a lil' bit more pigmented. But overall, I still love the colour.

So I guess I found my Spring colour.

And the Rimmel Apocalips in Apocaliptic.

It's so glossy and pigmented. But the colour applies a lil' redder than shown on the product itself. Which at first kinda turn me off, 'coz I'm so into fuchsia toned lipstick now. But after that, I think the colour does make me look paler, which I like! Rather than fuschia that normally turns me a lil bit yellow.

I think the apocalips by Rimmel has great quality. I'm impressed!

Randomly had the idea that I want my blog to be a little bit more informative, well, for myself. If that doesn't sound too narrow minded.

Been overly obsessed with beauty products recently, and they just pile up my wish list in seconds. In order for me to organize my wishes a little bit better, I thought, why not write a blog post whenever I want something, so that I could look back at my posts and could better regulate my wishes in accordance to my preferences.

So. Hopefully this is not just another ambitious resolution that I won't be able to keep up.

Been wonderfully festive this year, especially when I managed to get hold of the gingerbread house.

Been trying to get into the habit of taking as many pictures as I could. Tough when sometimes your boy is being judgmental. Turns out his thoughts has slowly channeled into liking it. So I guess I could pick up my hidden obsession.
