UK. Its been a year.

Ahh.... Its been a year and..... 4 days since I arrived to the UK. Well, I was thinking of it as a Holiday but it didn't seem like it at all. Recently, Bournemouth University got featured in 3D Artist which showcases some of our work. My group project, "The host" has some images featured there.
Here is the link(again). hehe. :)

But it all seems to be worth it till now though. All the good things are happening and I am really glad and feeling really blessed. Now all I hope for it for things to properly iron out and get a job!

This VFX piece is a final completed masters project I have done in Bournemouth University.

I have touch it up alittle after the submission like adding fire and tweaking some of the grade. etc. A breakdown will be up soon as well.

This is a student group project I did for term 2. Its a 7 weeks project including pitch where My team mate Christopher Hiess and myself have to interest people in our project. The presentation went alright. I much prefer to find a group of 4 before the start of the project but thats just the way things goes back then. Juan and Dipti joined us for this project to be realised.

My job scope and responsibility in this includes overall direction, character animation, dummy geo modelling and compositing.

This is what I did for term 1. Its a dry to wet project. Using a stills and implementing CG within it and making it realistic.

This is a compiled stuff I wrote when I had nothing to do when on the go. Now I've reach the house and am alone inside! *glurp* I gota run out to buy stuff now. so here's what happen during the ride....

Tuesday night was the day I was extremely nervous. I'm going to be overseas alone, with no friends, and everything is going to be a new environment. It almost made me feel like a new born. But then again a new born had nothing to fear and I got alot to leave behind. When my aunties, uncle Jerry, my sis and Jimmy along with their 2 kids came to our house, it made me feel really sad to leave my family. And especially my mom. When my auntiea were talking to me about safety in another country and especially I am staying with 3 strangers, my mom nearly cry when she heard it. It totally made her darn worried about me. But I'm glad she is because our family is not good at show affection. Kinda telepathic sometimes.
When I entered the departure hall and wave goodbye to my family, this thing about being alone still haven't struck me that hard yet. I don't know when it will still.

The flight was really a long and tiring flight! Even with so much movies to watch, I was just too tired and fall aslp on almost all the shows I caught. The first flight towards Dubai was the most Shiok! Because its night time and I can slp. The only really shitty thing is my nose was so itchy and I kept sneezing. Cool thing was I sat beside a Chio bu :D

And Fuck... I was rushing so much I sat on a wrong train and paid extras!!! Damn it...

Its the next morning now and i forgot to switch off the lights... :( ah well anyway this was what happened last night when i reach bournemouth via their coach and rail station. When I reach castle road I was freezing standing outside waiting for landlord's husband. Thank god he came down rather than my housemate being ard. I've nothing! No beddings, food, etc. Dn thankful he can bring me out to buy all the stuff rather than just pass me the keys.

Now next morning, which is now... I gota run out to buy some more necessary things. So that's all for now! Pictures up on fb soon!

The Anxiety

In just a few more hours,I wouldn't be able to use "Hungry go where??" anymore. Or say Mee poh da! Or laksa mor Hum. Talkin' about that, the super awesome laksa stall from Hougang Kovan is lost!!! All because of the renovation that was going on. :( I hope they move back when I am back. Talking about that... I will settling myself in UK for a 1 year Masters course. And if the chance presents itself, I would hope to work there.

I left Reel Loco at the end of last month and I've been terribly busy these days. Been so busy meeting alot of my friends that I'm sure I will missed. Thank you for being such good friends over the years and withstanding my crap. hahaha. I'm sure going miss you all. I am feeling it now. Just 5 more hours till my flight as I am typing this, alot of my family members have gathered at my house. I didn't intentionally tell everyone that I am going overseas for study. But at the moment when they knew, they wanted to meet me for the last time and that really touched me. :) This made me really sad to leave Singapore. I'm leaving alot of feelings behind but I guess with the support of everyone, I guess I'll do fine. Its what I think its the best for me to improve as an artist and the enviroment I am going to be in is hopefully going to be one that push me to another level.

For now, I'm going to leave this at this as I still got TONS to do. prep and double prep more stuff.

So as for now, this website and blog will be where my life will be keep tracked of. I'll update as much as I can here so everyone can know what I'm going to be up to!!

Updates of my recent work this year is coming up soon! Quite afew new work to update. Been just too busy with many personal stuff going on. I need to get a life after not doing so for 3 years plus. Hahaa! Anyway, work to be updated includes character animation from colosseum, some wings animation I did, slota game, and animation mentor class 3 and 4 works. Works from class 5 and 6 will be later when i wrap it up. Other none character animation stuff include 2 tvcs I worked on, AGI(Atomic Gaming Innovative) logo animation. I did alot more than this but these are the nicer ones I like. Well thats why I put them on my website! ;)

Those are coming in December when I wrap up some stuff on hand! :)

SLAMDUNK Final episode is finally out after such a long wait! But seriously, I'm not sure if its a wait at all. 'Cause I never expect him to draw an ending. But he did, and sort of didnt to me! It seems like a extended version of the ending for everyone in the story only. No more bballing, or perhaps a Slam Dunk Part 2?? hahahaa. But whatever it is, I am a HUGE HUGE slamdunk fan and will definitely buy this extended version when it comes out in Singapore. Its really cool how he did it actually, he drew it on drawing boards and took pictures of it and published it as a book. Check them out below! I really have an "awesome" webhost. So awesome that everytime I have problems with my website, I approach this dude on msn, he love and in fact Almost all the time showed some attitude problem as though it was me who did it wrong or something is wrong on my side. Service. Where is the service. I have been in the service line a long time doing F&B, tele marketing and receiving calls for taxi bookings while I was part timing jobs long ago. Its by far the MOST important thing to keep clients, customers and people that keep coming back to you. Keeping the satisfied and happy is the Utmost thing that anyone dealing with customers should do because they will help spread words that you can do your thing well and especially make people's day! This god damn webhost guy PISSED me off BIG TIME!! I even recommended friends and directed my web clients to him for webhosting. One of my web design client, who is also my friend,called me when she got hosting problems, and I told her to contact this webhost guy but somehow she still keep calling me. I should have but only now I come to realise what kinda person this webhost dude is. He's the kinda person that is plain technical, and when comes to and service attitude he scores a Big fat "0". To someone like that, so technically savvy, but when comes to dealing with layman that knows nuts about IT or any technicality of the work of web hosting, they have no patience. Its almost like saying, Artists who are super damn goood might not be the best teachers because things like art and design comes so easily for them that it doesn't make good sense to them that others just don't quite get it as quickly. EXACTLY like my "dear" webhost! Gives me HUGE attitude on things and insisting that it works but when i look at it on my end it didn't... Plainly didn't and I realised its the DNS server refreshing way tooo slowly that it just didn't showed up on my end but this dude for crying out loud keep insisting that I did something wrong. Its as though, an analogy to working in resturant, a customer don't wanna chilli but somehow there is chilli in his spagetti, but waiter said "no!" there isn't chilli when i serve, u added it youself! Ahh please, WAKE UP and realise that customers are your best friends and stop offending them! I have also made my own fair share of offending some clients, but 90% percent of the time, I maintain a good working relation with them and alot of them even became my friends that can chat on msn or facebook.

"From the hoop" is a short 3D movie directed by 3 students of Supinfocom Arles in 2008.
AAWwesome choice of color script, Really like how the color flows. Nice abstract theme, great presentation! Nice font too. :) Really like those little fake camera focusing blur on the title. If anything that I thought can be better its probably the bball animation.. probably cause I played it too. hehee. But seriously, its an awesome piece. Lighting, rendering and compositing are SPOT ON. I caught the film about Earl "The Goat" Manigault long ago. Really an awesome but pitiful bball legend. I remember in the film(Call "Rebound", go look for it! Probably the best bball films I caught), there was an interview with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, he was asked who do you think is the best and greatest player in the world. He answered, "the goat".
