I had a great time photographing Leila & Thomas’s engagement session yesterday. I met up with them at the Museum of Discovery, where Thomas works and the site of their reception, and we headed out the doors to a beautiful day and a super fun shoot. The weather was perfect (60 degrees in January!) and Leila and Thomas were so fun to photograph. After we shot outside, we went indoors to photograph inside the Museum. The Museum has recently undergone a major renovation and it looks amazing. I encourage anyone reading this to take an afternoon off to visit this place. It is great for kids and adults! We capped a wonderful afternoon off by grabbing dinner and drinks at Boscos.

Happy New Year…Happy New Site!

It’s been a while since I’ve tinkered with my website, but I spent the last day of 2011 overhauling it to give the site a new feel. I’ve added many new pages and features to help show people who I am and what I do. I’ve separated my portfolio into two sections…Love and Life. Love contains some of my favorite engagement, bridal, and wedding images I’ve photographed over the course of the past few years. Life contains personal work that I do for me. For years, I photographed wildlife professionally, but I had no sign of that on the old site, so I thought I’d bring back a few of my favorite images from years past. I’ve also added an iPhonography page to showcase all of my latest iPhone shots. Another new page that will be updated daily is called Project 366. I plan to post one image per day here for all 366 days of 2012, so check back often for daily updates. There are many other new features, so please check www.jasoncrader.com out, and let me know what you think.

2011…What a great year! I photographed 23 weddings this year and enjoyed each and every one of them. For those who hired me…THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!…without your support I would not be able to do what I LOVE to do! Each one of your weddings was so special and I treasure the friendships I formed with many of you throughout the course of this year. When you’ve shoot well over 150,000 images, it’s very hard to pick favorites. I’ve narrowed it down to 138 that I really like. This is going to be a long post full of many photos, but I hope you enjoy looking back at some of my favorites of 2011! Here they are in chronological order according to the wedding date. Last Saturday, I had so much fun photographing Lauren & Taylor’s wedding at Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR. About a month ago, I photographed Lauren’s bridals at Petit Jean State Park, and I knew then, when I saw her, that she would light up the church, and she did! Following the beautiful ceremony, the couple had their reception at the Pleasant Valley Country Club. Lauren’s mother did a superb job helping decorate the venue with many unique wedding pieces, and I really enjoyed the 11-member live band, The Rockets, that entertained guests during the night. Here are some of my favorite images.
