After many months of planning we have finally found a new home for the JAYOLAY Studio. Our new workshop is located in the warehouse district of Lithonia GA near Covington Hwy and Panola Rd. We are currently building out our new workshop taking on new assignments and projects. We thank our friends, clients, and business partners for all their support in help us make this a reality.

So we decided to make the JAYOLAY.com website accessible to mobile devices. You can now visit www.jayolay.com from your BlackBerry, iPhone, iPod touch, and Sony PSP to access our articles and updates. I personally spearheaded the campaign to get this done because of the recent trends increased mobile web browsing, and because of my lifelong relationship with technology.

What does technology mean to you?

I’m going to go “Old School” for a moment: Does anyone remember the first Palm Pilot PDA? I had one when I was 16 (and thought I was so cool because of the fact). I was the envy of both nerd and jock alike, and was a winner with the ladies, whom had a deep appreciation of both my geekocity and my technology savvy. Nothing tells an adolescent young woman that you’re a future provider, like an 8-bit grayscale touchscreen device with matching stylus. Ah, memories.

But before I digress into flashbacks of other awkward and ambiguous high school moments, lets just say that technology has always had influence in my life and that I believe it also affects the lives of everyone else. The rest of Team JAYOLAY feels the same. Which is why we are constantly implementing new changes to our equipment and the website (in both design and function). While the JAYOLAY magazine wants to give you the best articles on local Atlanta fashion events, the Team JAYOLAY and the JAYOLAY store want to provide you with the best photography and videoography services.

It’s not just about upgrading gadgets, but finding new and better ways to get the job done right. That’s what technology means to us. Tell us what technology means to you. Leave a comment.

Songwriter and musician Tosha J makes a visit to the Jay Olay studio. Tosha J, a self-taught guitar player, give us an unplugged performance of her single “I Love You”.

Although her style is reminiscent of music artists India Arie, Erykah Badu, and Corinne Bailey-Rae, Tosha J brings her own soul to the music she writes and performs.

There is a production for a 20-minute short film titled “I Thought You Knew” in the Atlanta-Metropolitan area. This film will deal with social issues such as sexual identity, infidelity, and HIV/AIDs. This film is in preparation for the feature-length film titled “The Other Side of Midnight, which is currently in pre-production.

The production is holding an open casting call for all actors, film students, and willing participants.

Please read the following: We need models with either an urban or exotic look. This is a non-paying gig. However, I would be willing to provide future agency-style photo-shoots for models that work with us. After production you would get a free copy of video on DVD. And during each shoot we will have snacks and drinks available.

We are working with the kids at www.kingpinrecords.net to make a music video for a hip-hop club song called “Freek Show”.

The song is pretty catchy, and the concept of the video is very fun, sexy, yet tasteful, and will be produced for web streaming on YouTube, Myspace TV, Facebook, Last.fm, and BET.com.

We’re using some great video equipment, and a great editing team that I got on loan from local schools in the area. We are shooting the group every Sunday in August and September at the JayOlay.com studio. However, some solo scenes (just the models) do not require shooting on Sunday, and can be scheduled accordingly.

Element Model Management & Atlanta Beach Swimwear hosted fashion show on July 4, 2008 at Club Dreamz ATL. Mireille Murad of Element Model Management (EMM) was director and host of this exclusive event.

With hair and makeup provided by Paul Mitchell The School, the models were looking their best for the runway.
