Every year the world keeps on eating up food and technology, but just how much more do people prefer juicy red apples over a succulent iPad? Here we explore how the behemoth tech giant Apple stacks up against America’s favorite shiny fruit. In 2009 138,000 Apple iPads were created, a total worth of around $32 billion. The numbers are pretty outstanding if you compare these Apples to apples — in the same year, total production of the fruit panned out at around $30 billion. If it’s true that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, the world ought to have a pretty healthy outlook for the years to come.

One of the most effective inbound marketing strategies available for businesses, online and offline, both in terms of cost of implementation and in overall return on investment (ROI), is blogging.

One of the most effective inbound marketing strategies available for businesses, online and offline, both in terms of cost of implementation and in overall return on investment (ROI), is blogging. Why has business blogging become so important as an inbound marketing strategy? There are a variety of reasons. Blogging is conversation, it’s personable, and it’s informative. Blogging is attractive for both online and offline (i.e., brick and mortar) businesses because consumers (i.e., customers, clients, and patients) feel they are being told a story rather than sold a product or service; and, no one wants to be “sold!”

Significantly, clients and prospective clients become part of the conversation by reading the blog posts and leaving their thoughts and feelings in the form of comments.

Who doesn’t like being asked their opinion? And, what business owner wouldn’t pay big money to know what his target audience is thinking, as well as what they react to and why?

A blog is a great way to show the world your expertise, thus establishing authority and demonstrating your competence in the marketplace and to your target market. People like to do business with business people they know, like, and trust. Prospective clients are drawn to businesses and business people who are experts in their field. Demonstrating competence enhances your image and makes the prospective client feel confident about their decision to purchase from you…you, as the expert in your field.

When properly constructed and implemented, an effective business blogging strategy is an incredibly valuable asset. Blogging for business is crucial, whether the business is entirely online or a combination of both, as is the case with most brick and mortar businesses today.

When organized and well written, a blog conveys the ultimate Internet image, an image that announces:

“This business is well run, this is a business I can do business with!”

A well thought out, well constructed blog, combined with an effective overall inbound marketing strategy, conveys a message, an image if you will, that this business owner is knowledgeable and cares enough to seek feedback about products and/or services offered from his or her clients and prospective clients.

A wise business owner values feedback, realizing there is always room for improvement, both in sales and service. Why not ask for feedback from the very people who use the product or service day in and day out? A blog can accomplish this for a business, creating a link both valuable and, ultimately, profitable. The feedback a blog offers is an often over-looked advantage; and yet, it is an incredibly powerful resource.

Significantly, the proper blogging strategy will provide a window into the thinking of your client-base and create a vehicle you may then use to improve your products and/or service.

The feedback from your business blog will also provide ideas and strategies for new products and services. Interestingly, you may even be able to gain a competitive advantage by learning what your clients and prospective clients like and dislike about your competitors, their products and services. Perhaps it’s a product or service you don’t provide but should? Perhaps it’s something to do with price? The blog provides the vehicle, the opportunities are there; and, it is up to the individual business owner to take advantage of them. A well constructed inbound marketing strategy, one that has at its center a well-thought-out and appropriately implemented blogging strategy, will put your business on track to accomplish all of the above and more.

One last word about inbound marketing, blogs, and blogging for business: photographs, audio recordings, and short videos are worth their weight in gold. If you aren’t the greatest writer, and don’t have the money in the budget to hire a good copywriter, also worth their weight in gold, a photograph or short video can help you tell your business’ story. With today’s technology, a photograph, audio, and/or video is easy to create and it’s often the first item to catch the attention of a visitor to your blog.

It’s worth taking some time each day to blog. Think of it as going out to talk to the man on the street. Think of it as time well spent. You will find it to be a great investment in time and effort, the ultimate in ROI.

Even though no one likes going to the dentist, a career in dentistry (including dental assisting) is a great way to get started. Here are six people who have moved on to other things, but started their professional careers by earning a dental assisting certificate.

Ruth Hartman, Author of Pillow Talk: Ruth Hartman is a romance writer who has nearly a dozen works to her credit, including My Life In Mental Chains,” a memoir about her own struggle with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Her romances often feature dental assistants, dentists and others working in the dental industry. She maintains her dental assisting license and lives in rural Indiana with her husband.

Catherine Greig, former FBI fugitive, and associate of James “Whitey” Bulger: Catherine Greig, 60, landed herself on the FBI’s Most Wanted List for her role in harboring fugitive and alleged Boston mobster James “Whitey” Bulger. Greig had worked as a dental assistant before the pair took their show on the road in 1995. Greig and Bulger were arrested in June 2011 in Santa Monica, CA. Bulger is accused of 19 murders, extortion and money laundering. If convicted, he faces life in prison. Greig is charged with harboring a fugitive and could serve 5 years, if found guilty.

Joan Alden, Professor and Author: Joan Alden is a Professor of English at The Citadel, and a published author with three works to her credit. Alden, who is a lesbian, also published a children’s book about a child with two same-sex parents. In addition to earning her dental assisting certificate, she has worked as an actress off-Broadway, a Wall Street trader and for the Ohio Department of Health. Alden began teaching in her 50′s, and remains active in the classroom at The Citadel.

Ann Battrell, Executive Director of the American Dental Hygienists Association: While it makes perfect sense for a dental hygienist to be the president of the ADHA, Ann Battrell is the first person that has worked as a dental hygienist to serve as the ADHA’s Executive Director. What’s more remarkable is that the ADHA was founded in 1923! Battrell, who was hired by the ADHA in 2005, is an advocate for expanding the role of dental assistants and dental hygienists in the delivery of dental health care, especially in rural areas of the United States, where the availability of dental care is limited.

Susan Crandall, Author: Susan Crandall is suspense and fiction author with nine works to her name. Her most recent work, Sleep No More, was published in 2010. While raising her children, Crandall worked for several years as a dental assistant before pursuing a writing career full-time. She now lives in Indianapolis with her husband. She also has two grown children, one of whom is also a writer.

Carol Ann Guest, Mrs. Utah 2011: Carol Ann Guest was crowned Mrs. Utah 2011 in March and competed in the national Mrs. America pageant in April in White Sulphur Springs, WV in April. Guest earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene in Weber State University in 1989. She also worked with students seeking a dental assisting certificate, teaching for 15 years at Salt Lake City Community College before opening her own business in 2002. Embrace Your Place offers empowerment workshops for young girls and women.

Keep DLL Errors At Bay And Boost The Performance Of Your Computer

It is no secret that frequent computer errors seriously affect a computer’s efficiency and can hamper productivity. Over time, almost all computers slow down and become prone to errors. However, this aging process of computers can be reversed and your computer can be nearly as fast as it was when you purchased it.

To enjoy a nearly error-free computer, all you will require is some basic knowledge and a conscious effort to take care of your computer. Expertise in computers is an additional advantage but not a necessity. To validate our point, we’ve compiled a list of some useful pointers that will help you avoid one of the most common computer application errors – DLL errors.

Take care when deleting a file

At times, you may delete an important DLL file by mistake causing recurring DLL error messages to emerge. Typically this happens when you are deleting a file that has a similar name as the DLL file. Pay close attention to the file extension (.dll, .exe, .mp3 are file extensions that are listed after the file name), before deleting a file to prevent the removal of important files by mistake.

Install robust protective software

The magnitude of problems caused by malware infections can be gauged from the fact that most DLL errors such as faultrep.dll, msvcp71.dll, and xvidcore.dll errors occur due to them. To prevent malware programs from breaching your computer’s security and altering the codes embedded in the DLL files, you must install robust antivirus and antispyware software. In order to ensure complete security, you must also keep these protective tools up-to-date with the latest malware definitions and security updates.

Perform regular registry scans

An unclean or corrupt registry is another major cause of recurring DLL errors. To improve your computer’s overall efficiency and to avoid errors that originate because of registry issues, clean your registry regularly. You may use an advanced and reliable registry cleaning utility to do this.

Ensure complete and correct installation of new programs

When you install a new program, ensure that you do not do an incomplete installation. An incomplete installation will cause various DLL errors when you try to execute the program. Also, when you install a program using an installation disc, make sure that the disc is not scratched or damaged. Although you may be able to successfully install a program, it may still cause various issues, such as DLL errors later on when you run the program.

Similarly, when you uninstall a program ensure that you do not delete a shared DLL file in the process. Removal of a shared DLL file may cause DLL error messages to frequently pop-up on your screen. You may use a reliable uninstaller tool to ensure complete and correct uninstallation of programs.

Update your driver files

Outdated driver files may also cause frequent DLL issues. To prevent this, ensure that you use the latest device drivers. You can easily ensure this by opting for a reliable third-party driver scanner tool. An efficient driver scanner tool automatically updates your drivers whenever new updates are released.

Incorporating the tips discussed in this article will help you improve your computer’s efficiency and prevent the occurrence of common computer errors, such as DLL errors.

One has to agree that errors are an inevitable part of a computer system. No matter what precautions are taken, there will be frequent system stalling and crashes every now and then. However, it is when these issues become routine that one should start worrying. Errors such as the alg.exe error caused by improper utilization of network ports by software can be very difficult to figure out.

With the right tools and guidance however, these errors can be avoided to a large extent. But first, let us understand what the common causes of computer errors are.

What Causes Computer Errors?

There are many reasons for the existence and recurrence of computer errors such as the ntdll.dll error, and while it is not possible to discuss all of them, or even most of them, we can surely have a look at the most common errors. Here’s a short list:

Old drivers – If you have owned your system for a while now, chances are you’ve had your hardware changed. We usually forget to update drivers, which causes problems.

Registry – Likewise, the registry also grows old and starts developing problems over time. It is very important to keep the registry in a good shape because it is responsible for all types of settings found on a system.

File system – An operating system never uses a hard disk perfectly, and there are always gaps between data chunks. This leads to fragmentation and poor performance.

Malware – Malware are famous for their ability to cause a variety of incredible problems and they need to be handled skillfully.

How To Deal With Computer Errors?

You certainly don’t have to be an expert to deal with PC errors. For instance, to disable mdm.exe, the Windows debugger process, all one needs to do is alter a few settings. In the same way, one can keep most of the Windows errors at bay by following some simple steps:

Driver update – Make sure that you purchase a good piece of third-party driver-update software which will automatically keep searching for and update system drivers whenever a new update is found.

Registry cleaner – The registry also needs regular maintenance, and one should purchase an industry-tested registry cleaner for fixing any problems in the registry. This is a very important and powerful step to clear many errors.

Defragmentation – The hard disk needs to be defragmented regularly. For this, one can use either the system tool found in the Windows Start menu or go for a professional and efficient defragmentation program.

Anti-virus – On the same note, make sure that your antivirus is regularly updated on the Internet. This will ensure that you have the best protection available all the time.

As it should be clear by now, managing Windows errors is a very easy task, provided that one has the right tools and knows what to do.
