Ok, You asked for it, we’re giving away ANOTHER iPad, This time it’s the new iPad mini. The Deadline for this Contest is 25th of June 2013. So that gives you ten weeks  to find a new restaurant unlisted on Jeddah Food and create your finest review yet.

Review any new restaurant in Jeddah that is not already listed on Jeddah Food, (Note: you can use the search on the site to find out if a venue is already listed). Then write your review (min 250 words / max 500 words) submit it for review and posting with an awesome photo of your reviewed meal, and you will automatically be entered into the draw.

If you are having trouble choosing a restaurant that is unlisted, you may choose one of the twelve restaurants that are already on Jeddahfood (Listed under point 2 below) to review.

We were welcomed by the smartly dressed waiters who asked us if we would like to sit outside or indoors. You can order shisha as well outdoors just like all the restaurants on the Court Yard.

The menus were simple, French names but with English explanation of the dish. The waiters were also ready to help if you needed to ask anything about a particular dish or drink. Their drinks menu as well was very interesting, offering many mocktails and even non alcoholic wines to enhance your French experience.

My dining partner and I went for the \”Bouchee a la Reine\” which is shrimps bechamel, and French Crepe\’. The shrimps were amazing, the combination of the shrimp with the bechamel sauce cooked in the oven was outstanding, not too creamy or too dry. The crepe was very tasty as well and didn\’t taste like a normal crepe which you buy from a cafe or a small restaurant, you can actually feel the different ingredients and effort put to create a special dish.

For the mains, I went for the \”Entrecote cafe de Paris\” which is steak cut into smaller bite size pieces and smothered with the special Cafe De Paris special sauce. My partner went for the \”Fillet au poivre\” which is steak with pepper sauce. Each main dish comes with a side of either fried, mashed potatoes, or vegetables.

The Entercote was tender and the sauce was simply mind blowing. The way the meat was cooked was just perfection, and you can feel in the taste that they don\’t use any cheap meats over here. The pepper fillet came nested over a bed of mashed potatoes and smothered with gravy and whole peppers, it did not impress any less than its Entercote counterpart in taste or meat quality. Really justifies its SR 100 per serving price tag for either of them.

The desert menu consists of your usual French sweets and pastries. We enjoyed a choice of Mille-feuille cake and ProfittRoll filled with ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. Home run for both, though I prefer my Mille-Feuille to be softer but it was still a delight to have.

Expect to pay between SR. 160 – 200 per person at Le Bistro Jeddah for a full course meal with drinks (excluding shisha). A bit steep for some, but many won\’t mind having a French tickle to their tummy every now and then. The quality and spoiling of your taste buds deserves such a bill. Bon Appetit.
