As per BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui, Filipinos who already have a tax identification number can apply for the Digital TIN ID via the BIR Online Registration and Update System (ORUS).

Lumagui highlighted that the new digital system aims to eradicate fixers and scammers peddling TINs online. This initiative offers taxpayers a more convenient method of acquiring their TIN, saving them from the hassle of long travels and queues at district offices.

To get started, users need to update their email addresses by submitting a Registration Update Sheet via email to the relevant Revenue District Office or through BIR’s Service – Taxpayer Registration Related Application Portal.

Once this step is completed, users can proceed to create their ORUS account, following a straightforward step-by-step process.

Before receiving the digital TIN ID, users are required to submit a clear image of themselves. It’s essential to note that penalties will be imposed for uploading unrelated photos, such as those of artists, cartoons, animals, or other people.

The BIR digital TIN ID holds significance as a valid government-issued identification document accepted by various government agencies, LGUs, employers, banks, and other institutions. While it lacks the user’s signature, its authenticity can be verified through the included QR code.

The standard JoyRide Super Taxi vehicle will be the fancy Toyota Veloz, a fancier version of the Avanza that costs about Php1.2 million a pop. It can accommodate up to five passengers and features a modern design both in the cabin and the exterior.

JoyRide highlights how its taxi fleet arrives right in time for the holiday season to help commuters navigate through the holiday rush.

The most interesting part is, that JoyRide said that Super Taxis will have the same fare as a regular metered taxi.

JoyRide said that 25 units will be initially deployed in Metro Manila. A rapid fleet expansion is scheduled for next year, 2024. In the days to come, JoyRide users can book Super Taxis right from the same app.
