KidsCamp at the Newnan Community Theatre Company is a great way for kids to learn, gain new experiences and knowledge, and maybe find their new passion. They are offering six one week camps that focus on designing and building sets, writing skits, creating characters, and putting on a great show. The kids will be instructed throughout the week by theatre professionals and will put on a show on Friday. Their camps have different themes such as Fantasy and Fantasy Tales, Superheroes, American Legends, and Monster Madness.

High achievement deserves high praise. We just wanted to take a moment to recognize the accomplishments of one of our valued Jefferson Point staff member, Joshua Ice, who earned his CAMT (Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians) designation by NAA (National Apartment Association).

This took a lot of time and effort from Joshua, who underwent over 90 hours of training in Electrical, Plumbing, Appliance, Heating/ Air Conditioning, and Interior and Exterior Maintenance aspects as well as Customer Service. We are dedicated to being a top-notch apartment community in Newnan, GA and this achievement just goes to prove that further.

The Summit Valley YMCA is starting another session of swim lessons. They have different lessons for different ages and skill levels. The youngest lessons to being in the water without a parent is Pike I at the preschool ages of 3-5. If your child is ready for more than just getting used to being in the water alone, try Pike II. This program will teach your child things such as how to jump in the water without assistance and front and back float.

At Pickin’ on the Square on Mainstreet Newnan, anyone can take the stage and impress the crowd with their skills. Every other Saturday from 11 AM until whenever, there’s an open invitation to all local musicians to bring your acoustic instruments to Newnan’s Historic Courthouse Square and showcase your ability. They do limit it to acoustic instruments and carry the motto, “All ages and skill sets are welcome.”

Walk into any business downtown and you’ll find a form for the “Painted Horse Round Up.” In order to honor the role horses have played in the development of Newnan throughout history, 25 artists have painted horse statues and hidden them all around Downtown Newnan. The goal, as in any scavenger hunt, is to find all 25 and fill out their names on a form. This is a clever and free way to have fun with your family or friends.
