Mellisa & Kevin // Engagment

Meet Kevin & Melissa. They like baseball, dislike the Yankees, and know where to get great local pizza. They decided to have their engagement photographs taken around DuPont Circle in Washington, D.C. I’m certainly looking forward to their wedding this year in Annapolis at the Beach Club.

Ohio State vs. USC

The Buckeyes faced off against The University of Southern California tonight. I had been waiting for this game all month naturally because it’s USC, but also because I was able to shoot at night with the kickoff at 8pm.

This game set a record attendance, and you can bet all fans got to see a dramatic game. Even though we just fell short, it was a blast shooting. Here are some of my favorites.

Ronald McDonald House Charity Golf Classic

[singlepic id=49 w=170 h=113 float=left] Recently over the summer Paul Woo and myself volunteered at an event put on by the Ronald McDonald House. This was their 23rd installment of the annual Golf Classic, which annually raises thousands of dollars. The fundraiser benefits families of hospitalized children staying at the Ronald McDonald House and other programs benefiting children in the community. The turnout was great, and the post-dinner auction was initiated by the one and only, Jim Tressel. Thad Matta was also in attendance.

Ohio State vs. The Navy

Ohio State begins its season facing off against the United States Navy. This was my first project for The Lantern, and I must say went extremely well. My ‘Field Photo’ season pass entitles me to go pretty much anywhere on the field, including the press box which has unlimited free food during the game.

I used Canon’s beast 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, which translates to roughly over 300mm on my cropped camera body. Within a practical range of equipment, 300mm is almost ideal to be shooting at for football. A few shots also were taken with my ultra-wide Tokina 11-16mm.

So without further ado, here are some of my favorite images from the game.

2009 Columbus Marathon

A tad off topic compared to most of the articles you’ll find here, I’ve decided to loosely document my training progress for the Columbus ½ Marathon.

Today was a basic ‘increase’ approach to my regular running route. High & 15th, west to Morril Tower, North along Olentangy trail, then Circle the conservatory branch (today, 7 times), then back the same route.
