*gasp* An actual update on the correct day!

Innie or Outtie: Innie
Maternity Clothes: YEP
Sleep: Doesn’t happen.
Pregnancy Perk: Nothing.
Embarrassing Pregnant Moment: Other than the exams getting more personal.. nothing, lol.
Best Moment this week: Nothing comes to mind.
Baby Purchases this week: We’ve slowed on the purchases and haven’t gotten anything this week.
Best quote regarding baby this week: Nada, I’m boring.
Gender: Boy!
Movement: Lots of rolling and shifting.
Food Cravings: Ugh, food.
Food Aversions: Everything.
How’s Mom? Huge amounts of pain. Back is miserable.. can’t sleep at night.. also been fairly sick all day today.
How’s Dad? Just worrying about momma.
What I am looking forward to: My appointment tomorrow.
Our Baby in Veggie/Fruit Terms: Cantaloupe
What Baby Blake is up to: “His fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once he’s born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you’ve been nervous about preterm labor, you’ll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.”

I am so over being pregnant. I feel like it’s all I talk about (and it probably is..) and it’s definitely all I think about. If I’m not wrapped up in planning for the baby, I’m thinking about how much my back hurts, how tired I am from lack of sleep, or how I’m hungry but I have no room to put food. Oh, and let’s not forget not being able to breathe normally!

At this point I feel like putting on some nursing scrubs and just wearing them for the last month or so. I hardly fit into anything I own and I feel like I wear the same maternity clothes every day. I pretty much live in the one pair of maternity capris I have, and then I alternate between a couple of shirts. And the flip flops, let’s not forget those!

Our Baby in Veggie/Fruit Terms: Jicama
What Baby Blake is up to: “You’re gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he’ll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.”

Our neighbor is good friends with a small business owner in our local area. It’s actually a really amazing Italian place that has incredible pizza.. actually, nothing I’ve ever had there was less than drool-worthy. It seems like they don’t get enough business to keep them going, but they’ve been there for almost 20 years. I try to promote them when I can, and instead of going to the local pizza joint the other night, we ordered pizza from them to go. It’s a little bit more expensive, but SOOO good and so worth it.

I wouldn’t mind having my own business, though I’m not sure how I would handle the stress. Jeremiah and I have thought about it before, and one day we may find ourselves shopping for small business insurance quotes.. you never know. I’d tell you the kind of place we’d want to run, but I don’t want anyone stealing my ideas! Haha.

What Baby Blake is up to: “A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it’s not very keen; even after he’s born, he’ll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he’ll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)”

For the past 24 hours I’ve had a terrible headache that verges on the closest I’ve ever had to a migraine. It gets to the point where I can barely pick my head up, it hurts to open my eyes and it makes me incredibly nauseous.

Parts of the day have been bearable, and at a few points during the day the headache was barely there.. but during those times I was light headed and nauseous. I did manage to get some cleaning done around the house so that it’s not a complete mess when Jeremiah comes home.

Tomorrow I’m taking Ellie, our husky, to the vet to get her shots done (they’re two months overdue, OOPS. I could have sworn they were due in May until I checked her papers). Then in the afternoon I have another sonogram appointment to check baby’s movement and amniotic fluid. It’ll be a long day so hopefully I’m feeling a bit better!

It looks like the plans we had to move back home may not be panning out. It bums me out because I miss living near family, and I miss our church. When I started going there it was just an old steel building where services were conducted, but it’s grown over the years both in the physical sense and in my heart.

The people there are amazing, the music is amazing and the sermons are amazing and very relevant to real life. This is coming from someone who isn’t very religious and has troubles with faith, but when I’m home I attend every Sunday and I feel.. not so lost.

I will adapt to wherever we go, but I sure do wish we could go home.

What Baby Blake is up to: “His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you’ll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby’s hardening skeleton each day.”

Even if I can’t be close to them all the time, I appreciate everything they do for me and I try to show my thanks as well as pay it back as much as I can. The other day a friend gave us a crib, which saves us about $200 in our baby budget. She also gave us a bumbo-type seat as well as a bunch of maternity clothes.

She wanted to give me so much more, and I was just waiting for her to bring out the equestrian apparel, lol. I had to stop her and tell her to keep some stuff for other friends or to sell. I did make her keep the mattress from the crib since we actually kept Matthew’s wrapped in the attic. Gender: Boy!
Movement: Tons of kicking, punching, turning around.
Food Cravings: Hamburgers!
Food Aversions: Some chicken.. now beef after a failed food experiment.
How’s Mom? Exhausted and huge! My sausage cankles are out of control.
How’s Dad? Good! I loved seeing him watch Blake on the ultrasound. He seems to be getting more excited.
What I am looking forward to: My ultrasound tomorrow to check baby’s growth.
Our Baby in Veggie/Fruit Terms: Chinese Cabbage
What Baby Blake is up to: “He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He’s also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.”
