Happy Summer, sweet friends!

Can you believe July is just around the corner? And you know what that means… Christmas in July!

We’ve reached the halfway mark to the holidays, and what better way to beat the summer heat than by staying cool indoors and crafting a heartfelt gift for a fellow creative?

It’s been quite a while since I last hosted a swap—and oh, how I’ve missed it. There’s something truly special about gathering a circle of kindred spirits who love to create and share joy with one another.

So without further ado… I’m absolutely delighted to announce our swap!

I’ve always had a soft spot for Tussie Mussies—there’s just something so enchanting about them!

Originally popular during the Victorian Era, Tussie Mussies were delicate little posies thoughtfully arranged in small, decorative holders. These charming bouquets were exchanged among friends and loved ones as a way to convey heartfelt messages—whether expressions of love, sympathy, well wishes, or simple tokens of friendship.

A sweet little historical tidbit I adore: they were made even more popular by Queen Victoria herself! She was known to carry them often, treating them as a beloved accessory—both fashionable and sentimental.

For our swap, we’ll be creating a festive twist on this lovely tradition. Our version will be a Yuletide keepsake—something whimsical and heartfelt to brighten a corner of the home during the holiday season.

This vintage inspired swap you will decorate the outside of the tussie cone, then fill the inside with an assortment of treats and vintage treasures.

Hello Friends & Happy Spring!

It’s been a long time since I’ve last blogged. My times does fly…

Life got super busy when my family and I decided to move back to our home state of GA.

We loved our time in Charleston and grateful for the wonderful friendships and experiences we shared during out time living there. Charleston will always feel like a second home to me. It feels wonderful to be back and closer to my family and dear long time friends with whom I’ve dearly missed.

Now that we’re finished with renovations, and feeling more settled, I am delighted to be back in the studio creating again. Even blogging! Sadly, blogging is a thing of the past it seems. I miss the old days of blogging. It felt like a small knit community. Would be fun (hint! hint!) if other’s joined in and made blogging popular again. 😉 In addition to blogging, I look forward to traveling and attending art workshop events. Which I miss!

I am OVER THE MOON excited to be attending Spring Fling hosted by The She Chateau.

Will be a mini reunion of old friends with whom I share countless fun memories with.

Both projects are so beautiful and I can’t wait to learn how to make them.

Now that spring is officially here I thought it would be fun to bring back an old crafting project from back from the Flickr days. I miss Flickr! Anyone else? Flickr was way before Instagram and it was such a fun platform to share photos and join groups. You could join a group that included your hobbies interest, collectibles, home decor, anything. This particular project I still have saved in my Flickr favorites. I thought it would be fun to bring it back.

Repurposed egg carton

Back in the Flick/Blogging days joining swaps was very popular. It was fun to gather treats to gift to your swap partner. One of the swaps that I enjoyed was repurposing old egg cartons, and filling it with tiny bits & bobs, ribbons, flowers, ephemera, buttons, rhinestones, etc.

With the price of eggs these days lets make good use with the carton. 🙂

For this project all you need is: Egg carton, white chalk paint, foam/paint brush, paper of your choice, ( I used peel & stick wallpaper) scissors, hot glue gun, multi-use glue ( I like Beacon 527 ) trim, flowers, any image you love (can be from a greeting card, scrapbook paper, digital download, music sheet)

You can decorate the outside and inside however your heart desires!

The best part was finding filling it with little goodies.

I filled the carton with a mixture of sweet old Easter decorations.

8 weeks till Christmas!

Let the holiday decorating begin!

Hi Friends! I can’t believe it’s been a year since I’ve last blogged. Life has been so busy and unfortunately my blog took a long nap. With my favorite holiday Christmas right around the corner and some exciting news to share soon I thought it would be the perfect time to connect with my friends and followers. Btw….do people still read blogs? Ha!

Last year my social media feed was flooded with all the sugary holiday treasures from the At Home store. Like this coveted gingerbread house that went viral. I hit the jackpot by shopping EARLY! I went to my local At Home store and to my wondering eyes turned down the isle to the holy grail of pastel sugary sweet holiday decor.

I shamefully admit I showed no self control! hee! hee!

Who could resist this adorable Gingerbread trailer?

I was impressed by the amount of holiday decorations At Home carries. They have a every style imaginable!

How daring in this pale pink Santa Claus?

These gingerbread houses makes me smile. Love the aqua pink colors!

Holiday cookies from Mrs. Claus Bakery collection are sugary sweet.

The angel is my favorite of the three.

How darling are these Gingerbread houses?

Love the pink Nutcracker with a bottle brush tree on is head. Handsome chap!

Last but not least I fell head over heals for the pair of Nutcrackers.

I think they’ll look great right outside my front door.

Bridgerton Workshop

Ladies arrived with all smiles ready to “Spill The Tea” and create pretty projects.

Artist instructor Lori Oles taught a paper doll class, and Karla Nathan a beautiful journal book.

The kits were TDF! Filled with the loveliest fabrics, flowers, and trims.

Cathy was the lucky winner of Karla’s raffle gift which was a pretty gift bag set of

Bridgerton tea & teacup.

Lori raffled off one of her gorgeous handmade aprons.

We gathered in the garden courtyard for a Bridgerton Tea Party luncheon.

I am incredibly thankful to 26 Divine for catering my Tea Party. Everything they do is top notch and out of this world delish! Jennifer and her husband Enan were a dream to work with.

Is it just me or does it seem like everything that is made mini is always extra yummy!

I commissioned Rise bakery to bake a special Bridgerton cake for the event.

They are known for their decorative bespoke cakes.

It turned out more beautiful than I ever could have imagined!

The cake was in honor of two very special Birthdays.

Make a wish ladies!

When you host a Bridgerton party everything has to be *extra* fancy. Including my husband, Curtis.

Bless his heart…. I convinced him to dress up in this rococo costume and serve the ladies a glass of champagne. He was the “hit”of the party! Bringing lots of smiles, giggles and laughter.

The ladies played Bridgerton bingo and trivia to win lovely prizes.

Curtis took his role seriously and was the perfect assistant! hee! hee! 🙂

As well as my daughter who jumped in to be of help.

Day 3 we headed downtown for a fun day of siteseeing and shopping.

We started our morning enjoying a historic carriage ride. Passing along cobblestone streets, admiring the gorgeous architecture, while learning the history of Charleston. It’s a fun treat for the ladies who were visiting Charleston for the first time.

After our carriage ride, I took my guest to White Point Garden Park for a picnic lunch.

We had beautiful views of the Charleston harbor, and the grand antebellum homes along the famous Battery. One of the most famous places to visit in Charleston.

Large oaks, cool breezes, and sunny skies…..it was heavenly place to sit and enjoy our lunch.

Next up…. Shopping!

If your a fan of the Bravo reality show Southern Charm, then you’re probably familiar with Craig Conover and his pillow shop, Sewing Down South. Fun place to visit and snap a few pics!

The room was sprinkled with wisteria!

We enjoyed yummy savory and sweets!

The cake sparkled with edible pink glitter! It’s all about the details right?

I have several glorious fun details to share of our weekend together.

This event is a small exclusive boutique style experience hosted in beautiful Charleston, SC.

My new home, The Chantilly Rose House will be where we gather for the weekend fancies & festivities.

Thirteen years ago I hosted my first small event in my home called En Le Jardin. It was an

unforgettable weekend, and made me realize how much I miss hosting smaller more intimate events. It’s an

opportunity for ladies to come play and be creative, while enjoying each other’s company and friendship.

You will create a tussie mussie to hang in your home that will fit your personal style using a wide lovely selection of beautiful decorative papers, ribbons, baubles, fancy trims, and elegant gold teaspoon. Fill the inside of your tussie with a sachet of your favorite loose tea or tea bag.

Bridgerton Workshop

Day two, we will get our creative frills on by gathering in the Eye Candy Studio.

We will start early and end at dusk while enjoying a full lunch, dinner and dessert!

I am delighted and honored to have these talented instructors join us for this artful weekend.

Their beautiful vintage style would be Queen Charlotte approved!

Lori Oles is a mixed media and jewelry designer who is passionate about all things vintage and loves to incorporate vintage elements into her designs. She has been published in the past in various crafting magazines and just wishes she had more time to create.

Karla Nathan is a multi media artist with a devotion to all things pretty and vintage. Her art ranges from watercolors of roses, to murals gracing the walls of hotels, daycares, casinos, and private homes coast to coast, to crafty confections of ephemera that have been featured in magazines and books. Between classes we will enjoy a formal sit down tea luncheon in the garden courtyard.

Shortly thereafter we will play Bridgerton trivia.

So many charming side streets oozing with charm!

What better way to tour the city than by taking a horse & carriage ride.

We’ll take a group tour around the famous historic streets.

You’ll be given a lunch voucher and the rest of your afternoon will be exploring and shopping!

Shop till you drop on the famous King Street & Market.

For the romantic feminine lovers like me you must visit Love Shack Fancy.

Every guest of the event will have a goodie bag and given maps & guides to all the must see historic places, gardens, parks, as well as antique shops.

Seasons Greetings and Warmest Holiday wishes!

Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour 2021

My family and I are excited to be celebrating our first Christmas in our new South Carolina home.

I am DREAMING of a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!

I played around in photoshop. A girl can dream right? hee! hee!

This year I decorated the outside with pink wreaths and tartan red ribbons.

I love the pop of color against the house.

I feel SO lucky that my camellia bushes are blooming in time for Christmas!

I want to invite you inside my Christmas home and give you a tour and share with you all my Christmas lovelies and the sentimental things that I cherish most.

Come inside!

Upon entering the house is the hallway centerpiece decorated in wintery whites and pale pink.

The first room we enter is the Formal Living room or as I like to call it…The Parlor Room.

Both my husband and I love sitting in this room. I’ve decorated the space to have a chic french parisian look and style.

The living room feels so intimate and cozy. A nice spot to sit by the fire and enjoy a cup of tea.

The next room on our tour is the Sugar Plum Dining room.

My heart pitter patters over the wintery sugar pastel colors!

I’ve been decorating with this theme for many many years! A few years ago my dining room was on the cover and featured in Vintage Holiday magazine.

The stockings are hung and my angel got her wings.

Bringing out the tiny pink piano that I gave a makeover last year.

Table is set for Christmas dinner.

I reuse and repurpose these darling whimsical fairy tags every year. This year they make the perfect napkin rings.

The buffet is the perfect place to display the glittery snow villages!

The heart and soul of the house is the kitchen.

It’s filled with vintage santa’s, old children’s Christmas books, and lots of Shiny Brites!

I love the red and pink color combo!

I love collecting vintage blow molds! The pink gingerbread house I found years ago at a flea market.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

It was fun decorating this sweet sugary vignette.

My little cheery shelfy.

My daughter had a Christmas slumber party for seven girls. We made the table extra festive!

Candy colored Gingerbread houses and shiny brites light up the room!

The Conservatory is a peaceful serene space. It has a winter wonderland feel to it.

The bar is ready to serve up some holiday cheer!

Lastly, I am sharing one of my favorite vignettes in a corner of my home.

One of my prized possessions is my Harold Gale Santa. I’ve had him for many years. He’s faded over time, but still cute and PINK!

Greetings from Charleston!

It’s been five months today since my family and I moved to South Carolina over the summer.

I am so happy to finally sit down after months of being in a moving whirlwind to write and catch up with you.

This post is long overdue!

I know this move came out of surprise for most. Us too!

My husband and I had been talking for years about retiring in Charleston. It’s been a dream of mine to live there since my mid 20’s.

After months of discussing we both said “Why wait?” We talked with our kids to make sure they both were on board. Grant is a rising Junior and Vivian starting her freshman year. We felt like this was our golden opportunity and we went for it.

We ended up finding the Southern home of our dreams!

LOOK! The house even has a schnauzer wrought iron gate! The owners have a schnauzer, and we have two.

It was a SIGN!

After 5 months, we are starting to feel more and more settled. We’ve been working on house renovations so it feels more like “us”.

House got painted, and the kitchen got a whole new makeover.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it….. it’s been a huge adjustment and emotionally challenging at times. I miss my friends and family dearly. Starting over is ALOT for all of us.

However, life is about evolving and moving forward. Even good change is hard.

It’s our forever home where we’ll celebrate holidays, graduations, birthday’s, bridal showers, and

art workshop events!

Never before have I given a house a name. I felt like this special house needed one.

I love Chantilly lace and the paint color! Rose represents the rose gardens I soon will be planting.

My wish is for guest and visitors to feel at home and special while staying with us.

I have many plans for this house.

One of them is working on my rose garden. I dearly miss my beautiful roses from my old house. I want to fill this trellis with roses!

Second, I want to finish unpacking and decorating every corner of my studio. I’m about 80% finished.

I can’t wait to get back to creating again…….. AND……..HOST my first workshop in my home.

I’ve already been in planning the stages, and the workshop will take place NEXT FALL!

me since I started blogging back in 2007.

I’ve been absent from time to time. Life get’s busy, and I unfortunately don’t have the time to sit and write.

Hello Friends!

I hope your doing well and keeping safe. I’ve taken a mini blog break and happy to be back.

We have officially been in our new home for over a year now and we couldn’t be happier!

Every room is furnished and decorated except for the swimming pool lounge area.

My family and I really had no where to sit or lay in the sun.

Unlike my younger days, I’m too old to grab a towel and lay on the concrete. I want comfort. hee! hee!

This summer we will staycation instead of traveling. Still trying to keep safe.

So for Mother’s Day and my 18th wedding anniversary my husband gifted me the umbrella and lounge chairs. They’ve been on my wish list since last year.

The style I wanted a create was a old retro Beverly Hills Hotel look.

We are now summer staycation ready.
