My personal experience concurs with that.  I found that when I started increasing the amounts of raw food in my eating plan, I was more alert, had more energy, I lost some weight and felt good overall.  You don't have to become a "raw foodist" to experience the benefits of raw foods.  Just adding more of them instead of empty caloric foods will yield a host of benefits.  Much research has been done about the results that can be gained from eating more raw foods. Persons have reported that they got healed from diabetes, chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, depression, back and knee pain, allergies, candida and a host of other ailments by adapting to a primarily raw food eating plan.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;First of all we need to know exactly what foods are classified as raw.  Fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds are what is usually considered when talking about raw foods.  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;span style="font-size: small;"&gt;Next we need to do it one day at a time, one meal at a time.  Start by adding more salads to your meals.  It is said that it takes 21 to 28 days to form a habit.  So weu could say that for the next month we're going to eat a salad every day either with lunch or with dinner.  Then the next month in addition to eating the daily salad, we're going to add a fruit or two and some nuts to our snacks while reducing the empty caloric foods.  And then continue on like this until you're into the habit of regularly eating raw foods maybe at a 50/50 ratio (meaning 50% cooked food and 50% raw foods).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

That way we avoid the boredom of "same old same old".  Just doing an internet search yields multiple ways to prepare and eat raw foods.  I've written recipe books and in the process of writing some more with numerous different kinds of salads so much so that if rotated properly you don't have to eat the same salad for 3 to 6 months.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

They were so intense that I could hardly sit, stand, or have anything close to me or touching my skin.  My mom gave me cinnamon tea each time but it did not help.  Finally in my mid teens my doctor recommended Ibuprofen.  The lower dosages did nothing to help but when I took the higher dosage that was the only time I got relief.  Up until a couple of years ago I was taking 1200mg of Ibuprofen to help with the pain.&lt;br /&gt;

When we changed out eating habits as a family I prayed to the Lord asking him to help me with this because I never liked putting drugs in my body and I really want to stop.  I researched painful menstruation and alternative remedies for it. To God be the glory, gradually the pain lessened and it's to the point where I can carry on a normal conversation and not take painkillers.&lt;br /&gt;

Don't wait for an emergency or unforeseen event to happen and then for you to think of what you're going to do. &amp;nbsp;By then it will be too late. &amp;nbsp;Sit down with your family if they're interested. If they're not it's still no excuse to do nothing. &amp;nbsp;Sit down and think about possible scenarios for your part of the world and your life.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
You may decide that you want to make sure you have enough food stocked up in case there is no longer any income. &amp;nbsp;You may decide that you're going to be well prepared for hurricane season starting in June. Do you need to figure out escape routes in case of a burglary or fire? &amp;nbsp;It's up to you but sit down and make a plan. &amp;nbsp;Decide what you're going to do and write down the steps to&amp;nbsp;achieve&amp;nbsp;your goal.&lt;br /&gt;

So, for 2012 I'm deciding to FOCUS. &amp;nbsp;Focus on what's important and let go of the rest. &amp;nbsp;Delegate it, Unsubscribe from it, Don't read it, Train others to do it, whatever it takes. &amp;nbsp;I will be prayerfully eliminating what I need to and prayerfully focusing on what the Lord's priority is for me during this coming year.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I sense it's going to be a big year with some major changes and I want to be fully present to experience what God has in store. That means that I need to let go and FOCUS. &amp;nbsp;Focus on God and listen to what He wants me to be and do.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Pray for me my friends, my acquaintances, my family. &amp;nbsp;Without God I can do nothing, even focus on Him. &amp;nbsp;Thanks in advance for your prayer support. &lt;br /&gt;

This year promises to be a good one if we walk in obedience to God's principles. &amp;nbsp;Make Him the first priority in our lives this year. &amp;nbsp;Matthew 6:33 says "Seek first the kingdom of God and all His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well." &amp;nbsp;What things? &amp;nbsp;Read the previous verses from verse 25.&lt;br /&gt;

All the things that we get anxious about are promised to us if we seek FIRST God's kingdom and ALL His righteousness. &amp;nbsp;He doesn't say there won't be difficulties. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;He doesn't say the economy will improve. &amp;nbsp;He doesn't say there won't be challenges. What He does say is that we should seek His kingdom and His righteousness first and He will take care of us.&lt;br /&gt;

Sugar, Sugar!
Do you remember the song Sugar by the Archies? (I am sure I dated myself with that question)...sugar, ah honey honey, you are my candy girl and you got me wanting you. Honey, ah sugar sugar, you are my candy girl and you got me wanting you. The song was released July 26, 1969, and was written by Jeff Barry and Andy Kim.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here we are in 2011 and “sugar, sugar” still has us wanting it by epidemic proportions and the reason it is addictive because it is practically in everything we eat! Is your body a sugar shack? Are you aware that the average American consumes about 170 pounds of sugar  a year. While the song Sugar was a hit. Sugar consumption is not when it's over-indulged. Remember, moderation is key.&lt;br /&gt;

Here is a simple deep breathing exercise that can be done anywhere at any time. Optimally don't do it in smog and smoke filled environments.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Sit upright with your back straight. Exhale.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Breathe in and, at the same time, relax the muscles of your stomach. It should feel like your stomach is being filled with air. You should even see it like it is getting bigger with the air that is filling it.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;After you have done this, keep inhaling. Now feel the middle of your chest beginning to fill up. It should feel like your chest and your rib cage are expanding as well.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Hold the breath in for a few seconds, then begin to let it out gradually. &amp;nbsp;Do this as slowly as you can.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;As you exhale, relax your chest and rib cage. Pull your stomach in to help the rest of the air to be let out.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. &amp;nbsp;Ignore all the noises around you and pay attention only to your breathing.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Do this for approximately 5 minutes.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
If you've never done deep breathing exercises before then you should start small and then increase the time up to 5 minutes. &amp;nbsp;For example start by doing this for 1 minute the first week, 2 minutes the second week and so on until you reach the 5 minute mark. &amp;nbsp;I've done this before but not very consistently. &amp;nbsp;I've found that it helps to clear my head and increase my energy levels whenever I do it. &amp;nbsp;I decided that today is the day I begin incorporating this into my early morning routine. &amp;nbsp;I intend to teach our boys to do this every morning when they wake up or at least at some point during the day as well.&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;div&gt;
Here's to better health for you and your family with deep breathing. And the best part is that it requires no financial investment. &amp;nbsp;With the state of the economy these days that is good news.&lt;/div&gt;

Break-ins and robbery are more common and believable for most people than an "the end of the world as we know it scenario". We should not rule out an "the end of the world as we know it" scenario but we should also be prepared for ordinary events. &amp;nbsp;Here in this video we see one person who thought of safety for his family in the event of a break-in. Pretty cool I think.  What do you think?&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/Qj55WX58UDF-RuhwFLRFnH_vJRk/1/da"&gt;&lt;img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~a/Qj55WX58UDF-RuhwFLRFnH_vJRk/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"&gt;&lt;/img&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;A storm named Ophelia visited Dominica a couple of weeks ago and left myself and those in my area without electricity and water for a few days. &amp;nbsp;Thank God we were prepared to a certain extent so we made out great but in assessing what I had on hand I realized that I need to up my game and stock up on more candles, batteries, matches and lighters. &amp;nbsp;What we had on had was adequate for what we went through and a little extra but not enough for a longer term power outage like a month &amp;nbsp;- God forbid that should happen.&lt;br /&gt;

This month for emergency preparedness Do 1 Thing is focusing on power. &amp;nbsp;The goal is to be able to safely meet your basic needs during an electrical outage. In light of my assessment during and after Ophelia it's good that this month's focus is on power.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
God forbid but should you not have electricity for a few days are you prepared? &amp;nbsp;I'll be doing what I can this month to increase my longer term readiness for power outages. &amp;nbsp;What are you going to do? &amp;nbsp;Are you adequately prepared for a week without power? A month? Or more? Or less?&lt;br /&gt;
