100 cards in 100 days?

I was surfing a forum the other day and a post caught my attention. It said 100 cards in 100 days. Of course, that really piqued my attention so I checked into it. It's very simple and hard at the same time. You post a card (can be any theme you want) every single day for 100 days without missing a day. It also has to be cards that hasn't been showed online. I am curious about it. I probably will fail at this quickly, LOL! I figured why not start on June 1st and it'll end September 12th. I've got the perfect one to start on the 1st of June. :) If you're interested in doing this - comment below and we can help each other out by commenting and encouraging each other!!

There are tons of card sketches online that you could use - SCS, PageMaps and Mojo Monday are some that I use.

I haven't been in much of a crafty mood lately. I haven't been down into the studio much the last 2 1/2 weeks. There are so many things going on mainly outside of the house. We just completed the front yard's flower beds today and it look GREAT. Now that we've been here a year. In 2 weeks, we will be getting 5 trees and getting them planted. So you know where I have been lately - OUTSIDE either doing planting or reading books.

I'll be honest - I don't know when I'll be back - maybe this is what I need to do - take a break. Please be patience with me. Thank you. :)

Altered Window Frame

I just realized earlier this morning that I had NEVER posted those two pictures on the blog but I had posted then on Facebook! Oops!

Here's a little story to this post: When we were remodeling our old house. We were having all of the windows replaced and while our contractor, Brian was ripping them out. I had yelled out that I wanted to save one of the panel window. I remember getting the looks from my husband, Jeff and Brian. I said I have an idea what I want to do with that window - just be patience with me! That was in August of 2010. Fast forward to July of 2011 - we had sold our house in 38 days and we were moving. We were clearing out the final little things before we turned the keys over to the new owners. I had spotted that they left the window and the original kitchen door in the garage. Naturally, I yelled out - wait, don't forget the window and the door! Jeff was grumbling about it, LOL! I already KNEW what I wanted to do with them - but how to do it - was something else, I wasn't sure. I started working on the window frame end of August 2011. Here's the before and after pictures. Now, I think I can say that it was all WORTH the hassles and looks I've gotten. :D

Taking a week off

Last night's Crop Night

OH MY! It was SO MUCH fun last night!!! Crop night began at 2 pm and ended at 1 am. It was a BLAST! There were so much laughter and tears!! Priceless memories!! We all are already looking forward to the next one. Here's 2 pictures (there are 4 photos posted on facebook). The next one is April 21, I believe. I will have definite answer by the end of the week on next month's date.

Weekly Challenge #12 - Altered

Here's my take on this week's challenge which is ALTERED project. I also included the Color Combo Challenge that was posted via Facebook on March 17th - where I suggested to use at least ONE green of your choice, in honor of St. Patrick's Day. I used "Olive" with Cocoa and Colonial White.

Next week is 1 photo page - only using ONE photo.

Weekly Challenge #8 - CASE

Here's my take on this week's challenge. We were to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). I did with LITTLE modification of a Birthday Card from Jamia Bankhead - I can not find the direct link for this one, but I printed it off about a year and half ago.

Supplies Used:

Stamp Set: Candlelight (C1394)

Cardstocks: Sweet Leaf, White Daisy, Crystal Blue & Sunkiss Yellow

Inks: Crystal Blue, Sweet Leaf, Sunkiss Yellow & Sunflower

Accessories: Cocoa Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stardust Glitter Glitz, Platinum Stickles

Weekly Challenge #9 - Technique

Here's my take on this week's challenge which was using a technique. I chose to do the Batik's technique. The instruction will be below the supplies list that is used for this project. In this one,I had combined 2 things - Batik technique and the Color Combo Challenge (3/10).

Supplies Used:

Kit: Key to my Heart (retired)

Stamp set: Butterfly Wings (D1341)

Cardstocks: White & Desert Sand

Inks: Sorbet, Desert Sand, Goldrush, Creme Brulee & Versamark

Accessories: Sorbet Ribbon Rounds, Foam Sponges, Water Spray Bottle & Clear EP

Sketch is based on page 49 from Wishes Book (This was modified to fit to 6 x 6 card)

Instruction for the Batik Techniques (I don't recall where I got this because this was in one big words document).

VersaMark and Card Stock Batik Method
Supplies: VersaMark pad, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Brayer, Kaliedacolor Pad, Card Stock, Water Spritz bottle,

Directions:
          1. Simply stamp your image using Versamark on ultrasmooth white or confetti or some other light CS.
          2. Then emboss with clear embossing powder. Let cool.
          3. Then gently wad paper into a ball or you could fold it into a small square for a different look.
          4. Unfold it and smooth it out. It will have crease marks now. Place it on a towel and mist with water so the paper is very damp.
          5. Next ink your brayer with a Kaleidacolor pad (or a B&J pad) and brayer across the paper.
          6. The image will stay white while the ink will seep into cracks and the rest of the paper will have a batik look. (Like back in the 70’s when you applied wax to a pattern on a shirt and then dipped it in dye, cooled and chipped the wax away. Like far out man!)

Sorry the photo is blurry - took it with the cellphone camera and it's crappy.

I took the two step background and stamped them onto the grey wool cardstock and used a clear embossing powder to give the effect. I distressed everything in Chocolate Ink.
