I really enjoyed this talk by the inventor of CAPTCHA. Smart guy producing amazing results with his online collaboration projects. In this talk he describes DuoLingo, a system that helps translate the web for free with the help of people learning a new language! Awesome!

Here you can see a Computer Scientist, Alexander Tsiaras, with incredible skills in Mathematics that successfully interpreted actual data and visualize in three dimensions the complete early development of a person. The result of his work is fantastic and all y'all gotta check it out!!! From small cells dividing to a fully developed infant - wow, nice job Alexander!

Is listening a chore? NO! Will understanding the physical world around us better make our lives richer? YES! There are so many amazing sounds to enjoy - music, nature, and pure silence. The speaker, Julian Treasure, gives us the suggestion to remember to reset our auditory system every day with a few minutes of silence, or at least a bit of quiet-time. Meditate. Hear a pretty birdsong? Well, thank that tweetin' bird! It is no secret that paying attention to something wonderful will always lead to more wonderful things abounding!

Friday! Woo! and Hoo!

I like online advertising. The idea is post new web pages with unique content online, include adspace filled by online ads automatically, then money rolls into my account as people view my page and click on ads.

So how can I do it better best and bestterbest? Share daily? Post multiple times daily? Auto generate pages from dynamic databases? So many options and when seeking to choose, I feel attracted to easily replicable, systematic, programmatic, semi-automatic and reliable. Those characteristics will shine bright when I find a proper content management system for proper online empire generation.

I am serving Justice today as a Juror in Van Nuys

Good day!!! Today is my opporunity to appear for the LA Superior Court and present myself as a potential Jury member. So, I followed the directions... got good sleep, left early this morning, arrived on time, brought my paper work, excused myself from work, brought a book and some snakes, and now, at this very moment, I'm patiently waiting here in the Jury Assembly Room using their free internet computors! I've served previously, about two years ago at the downtown LA courthouse, but this is my first time at the Van Nuys court. So far so good, all of us jurors have finished orientation and are now on standby waiting to hear if the five cases today will be needing us, and when.

So, what comes to mind for you when I say "jury duty"??? For some people, it is Pauly Shore and the nearly hilarious movie "Jury Duty" but for others the first thing that comes to mind is "Aw heck! I don't have time for this!" Well, for me its the word "service." Service is an act of giving. Giving is an act of love. And all the world needs is love.

So good luck to me and any criminals or civil disputes that get in my way today! ;)

Amazing news for any science lover... one click will now take you to PopSci's 137 year archive of scanned magazines! From that archives entrance page you can enter any search word and begin browsing immediately. Can you imagine the possibilities...?...because I'm just beginning to imagine what fun treasures I'll find while exploring! Articles appearing online today reveal that some issues are better than others... for example the announcement article in Wired.com can only "recommend starting in the optimistic, tech-loving 1950s" while earlier years are more "text-booky" in nature. Come back here and post your comments if you want to share what you found to be popular science... enjoy!

And final thought.. is the achive fully iphone-able?? YES - it appears to be totally mobile device enabled and accessible!

I've known about and been a fan of They Might Be Giants for about half my life now... but I never knew they made kids music! Now I know better, and I love the work they are doing! Or did, rather... back in 2005 and 2008, they release two dvds called 'Here Come the ABCs' and 'Here Come the 123s' full of animation, puppet skits, singing, and music videos about all the letters and numbers! And I love 'em and my kids love 'em! So, what are they up to now? Well, in the kids department I believe TMBG are working on music for the show 'The Higgleytown Heroes' on Playhouse Disney.
