Well, here’s one for you, One More Try, an upcoming adult-drama movie from Star Cinema.

Last night, May 8, the movie’s story conference was held at Star Records office, ABS-CBN compound. It was revealed that Dingdong Dantes, Angel Locsin, Zanjoe Marudo, and Angelica Panganiban will be the stars in One More Try movie that will be directed by Ruel Bayani.

The story will revolve on a married couple played by Dingdong and Angelica that are romantically involved with the characters played by Angel Locsin and Zanjoe Marudo.

Will this be a blockbuster movie? What’s your opinion?

It is the news that the Spitzer Space Telescope has detected light from a “super-Earth” named 55 Cancri e. This was the first-time NASA have detected this, a light coming from a thing in the universe which is not suitable for humans.

NASA also revealed some information about the “super-Earth” 55 Cancri e. It is said that it is a dark planet and its sun-facing side is ever 2000 Kelvin or about 1726 degrees Celsius. You don’t what to live on a planet that warm.

55 Cancri e was also revolving on a star and orbiting within 18 hours, it was almost two-times bigger and eight-times more massive than our planet earth. How far is it? Just 41 light-years away from where you are right now.

I always ask my friends, “where can I buy Melona ice cream bars here in the Philippines?” No one knows! My mother explored the biggest Mall here in Asia (SM Mall of Asia) but she can’t find any trace of the famous ice-cream bars! What?!

For the sake of others, Melona ice-cream are Korean ice-creams which are manufactured by the Binggrae Co. Ltd (in South Korea of course. LOL!). It was called Melona because of its strong honeydew melon flavor. (Melon was just the primary flavor. But as of today, you can also try Melona’s other flavors like banana, mango, strawberry, red bean and lime.) It has a colored-green packaging with a big Korean word “MELONA”. And for those who buy it, you should consume it at once or at least put it into a cooler because this delicious ice-cream melts easily. Below is a photo of the creamsicle:

My mother managed to buy some Lotte and Binggrae products at SM City Baguio (when she attended a seminar last month). They are really creamy and very flavorful! There are also Korea grocery stores in Manila, Makati and Quezon City where you can also purchase Melona. At Arirang Korean grocey shop in Davao, Philippines offers a lot of Korean foods and stuffs including the famous Melona.

1. Where can I buy Korean Soju in the Philippines?
Korean sojus are very easy to find. I’ve been looking for it here in Batangas since 2008 and I thought that I will not find one except buying it from South Korea. LOL! But to my surprise, many 7-11 (7 eleven) stores are selling this drink! There are 2 soju flavors available, “Original” and “Fresh”. (Honestly, I can’t figure out what’s the difference between the two. Hehehe. :roll: )

Aside from that, you can also go soju-swimming at Robinson’s Place on their Grocery Store! Hehehe. Just go to the Oriental Section and grab a bottle soon.

2. Where can I buy Korean Makgeolli?
I am not familiar with this drink on the first place. I am not even aware that this kind of beverage exist. Hehehe. I just saw it while watching an episode of Playful Kiss Korean drama (also known as Mischievous Kiss). The leading lady got drunk after drinking a cup of Makgeolli (Makkoli or Makuly(takju). :mrgreen: It also comes with different flavors. Here are some photos of Makgeolli.

So where can you find this Makgeolli rice-wine? Again, 7-Eleven was there to serve you these drinks. They don’t allow you to drink soju or makgeolli inside their store. Take it out and drink it outside. 8O

Here on the web, there’s a lot of design from different steampunk USB flash drive maker. They are even selling it online. (Yeah, Steampunk USB Flash Drive for sale!)You can have your 4gb, 8gb or even 16gb flash drive mod. Some of them are quite expensive but I guess fun is better than price. LOL!

I don’t have plan of purchasing this kind of stuff. Actually, I am planning to create my own! Hehehe! I ask one of our friend that runs a wrist watch repair shop to save some old wrist watch or mechanical table clock for me. With those material, I will try to make my very first steampunk project! Watch out for the “steampunk how to”, soon. :mrgreen:

UPDATE 01/28/10: Aside from those stores and shops listed above, I have also personally verified that there are some 7 eleven outlets all over the Philippines are selling our favorite Korean Soju drink. Why not visit the nearest store check if they have one! :-)

As far as I know, Pepero Day in Korea is just like what people do during Valentines day. But of course, Pepero day differs in many aspects. During this event, there are a lot of sweet-choco-coated-rod-shaped biscuits that are being sold on the streets.

Actually, Pepero was originally created by Lotte, but now, more and more food makers are making the same product too. There are also different packages of this food. I saw pictures of Pepero boxes colored red, green or white. Which is your favorite? :roll:

When I was in high school, I suffered from an extreme dengue fever. I was rushed to the nearest hospital here in our province but later transfered to a bigger hospital located in the capital of our country. There was a large amount of blood coming out of my nose during the fourth day. My platelets dropped to 15,000 (but there is no blood transfusion is made). My bestfriend suffered from dengue(not sure) too, and it encouraged me to write the papaya juice for dengue treatment post last month.

It is possible to get dengue more than once. Dengue can occur because of 4 different but related strains of dengue virus. Do you know that there are three kinds of urban buses in Seoul, South Korea?

Yes, there are three kinds of urban buses running in Seoul. These are the City, City Express and Deluxe Express. The City Express Buses (jwaseok) are more comfortable than City Buses ( ilban). Also there is a shuttle bus ( maeul) that runs only for short distances. These type of bus is smaller and cheaper than normal bus also the transportation cards are not yet accepted on buses so you need to pay in cash.

So whether we use any kinds of bus or vehicle in transporting to a place to another, the important thing is our safety.:wink: Have a safe trip! Yeohaeng jal danyeo oseyo!

I mean, have you tried riding on one of its subway lines?

Well, for information, there are eight subway lines in Seoul. They link the farthest parts of Seoul and its cities and transfers between lines may be made at various stations. Trains operate at intervals of 2.5 to 3 minutes during morning and evening rush hours and at intervals of 4 to 6 minutes during the rest of the days.

I enjoy seating in a clean train while seeing the sights outside from Ilsan to Insadong. My trip using the Korean public transportation was so cool! :wink: Did you already got your tickets or your transportation cards for the train ride?

Have you tasted the Korean Fish Cake or known as Odeng? Well, it’s so yummy! If you dont know what this fish cake is, you may try watching the korean “Boys Over Flower”. Odeng is Jan Di’s favorite street food then later the rich and famous Jun Pyo tried to eat it and was surprised by its delicious taste! Yes, I told my Korean friends to accompany me where can I eat or buy odeng. We went to Insadong and there I enjoyed eating those fishcakes! So yummy!

If you haven’t try it, well its time to try the Korean Fish cakes! I am sure just like me you will enjoy eating it. It only costs few cents. If you tasted it already please share your experience here. :wink:
