This is my third time celebrating Chinese New Year here..
somewhere where the festival doesn't seemingly belong to.

I love eating CNY cookies so much.
But I could hardly find it here, especially those which are authentic and traditional.
Even if i could get them, they would probably cost me loads.

S0... I decided to make it myself..

I had been looking up on various kind of recipes from some really great Malaysian food blogs
and a length I made up my mind.
Fortunately, most materials could be found (in Asda or town)..

Pineapple Tart (Recipe)

Pineapple tart is always my favorite!
As a beginner, it was a real challenge for me as I was told that it wasn't easy to do
(the recipe looked simple though). Particularly, making a good one.

I still gave it a shot.

It took me 3-4 hours making the pineapple jam (......).
Unfortunately, it turned out to be too wet (......).
Aanyway, it tasted alright.

I started to have a tough time while wrapping the cookie with the sticky and buttery dough.
It was 10 times harder that what I thought!

Look..

They all almost 'run shape'..
I spent some time on getting the hang of making it in a right & better looking shape..
This was the best i could do..

A bit more left after giving out.

Finally, these were what I got ..
It wasn't too shitty, not perfect (Ngam ngam ho lol..)

Simple packaging to make it looked even more delicious LOL.

What I have been enlightened from this lesson:

~I am the 'house' man.
~ Buy a new camera. It should retire now.
~This year I 犯太岁.

(Had too much cookies and I was seriously ill for 3 days. On '30th night', it was the reunion of tablets and 'mi sua' in my stomach. I recovered on the 3rd day and during work, my 5 fingers on my left hand was scalded by boiling water.)

Last day of 2008,
I was trying to figure out what I had done for the past 364 days, despite the hardest year ever.

But..

Suprisingly..

On the frosty...

I burnt my pie to a cinder...

While i was having Kopi-Oh....
Then..

I was almost freezed at the bus stop..
and..

I was still late to work..

Back at 11.53pm..
Damn £6 for the taxi..

Me : You want me to stay and count down with you?
Taxi driver : Haha! No, thanks!

Eventually, I spent my last 10 seconds in 'Wonder Space'.
with an idiot named Ricky..

If I could have a chance to make my own annual report for this year,
the cover would be a cinder pie thrown in the snow..

Summer Sundae (also called the Summer Sundae Weekender) is an annual music festival held in Leicester, which focuses on indie, alternative, and local music. The festival began as a one-dayer in 2001 and has grown year on year since then, adding first one and then two campsites, and now involves five stages. It took place between the 8th and 10th August.

Got a free 3-day pass, saved up 95 pounds.

Dengue Fever on Main stage. It's a six-member band from Los Angeles who combine Cambodian pop music and lyrics with psychedelic rock.

Roisin Murphy (former Moloko singer) on Main stage!
She was just brilliant and her distinctive voice was amazing!
I was standing on the first row in front of the stage
and her sudden changes of stylish costumes and fabulous hats drove me crazy!
Breathless!

Macy Gray, Saturday night headliner.
20mins before her show started, Macy Gray wasn't satisfied with her hair
and demanded a hairstylist, and a pizza.

Her '2' backing singerS.

She ended the night with single ' I try'.

'We must stand on the first row!'
We just went to Civic Hall about 3 hours before the door was opened.
No one was here...

7.00pm , Door opened.. Everyone just ran so quickly to get into the front row.. Luckily we got it... Bad news... it was a 'NO CAMERA!' policy concert.. damn...
Everyone was almost bored to death by the support dj before Bjork.. although Leila Arab had done really well for the live version 'Enjoy' that did blow me away.. she works better with Bjork, i suppose...

The moment when Bjork walked out... I couldn't breath!!

She was just right in front of me... 6 feets away...I was like an idiot kept waving my hands.. just thought she saw me lol... Her voice was just amazing. Not much different from her studio version.

Everyone likes glimpsing, especially into other's privacy.
It just feels right, even if it is wrong morally, when everyone does it.
Films have just become the glimpsing tools.. No matter they are real or fake, as long as there's satisfaction.

I glimpsed into the space where Lily Chou Chou was. Apparently, her voice was like a whiff of the ether, put me out and ran over my mind.

For today's play, he was a drunk clown on the street, entertaining the innocence.
