I want to invite you to get involved with our raffle and share an inspiring note I received. This is my last email on the topic—so join us today!

Tickets start at just $36, and the prizes are pretty amazing! The Grand prize is $10,000; the second prize of a video camera or iPod Nano. The beauty of the raffle is that the prize has been sponsored by a generous friend, which means that all funds from ticket sales go to support Chabad on Campus's "accessible and meaningful" programs for collegiates and young adults. If you have already purchased your tickets, I am sincerely grateful.

A wise person said: "You can spend a lot of time making money. The tough time comes when you have to give it away properly."

Kindest Regards,

Rabbi Hershey
Chabad on Campus - Rohr Center for Jewish Life
serving Washington University in St. Louis
www.chabadoncampus.org

Hi Rabbi Hershey -

I bought my ticket - and I wanted to share with you the stream of thought that went through my head when deciding to buy it. I am a deeply indebted student and can't afford frivolous raffles...so normally the email would have ended up in the trash...however, you were asking me to support wash u. chabad, which is a different matter all together. […]

You have been warm and welcoming to everyone, truly concerned with the well-being of all the jewish members of the community, and you (and thus chabad) have created a sense of Jewish community, which here at the med school simply doesn't exist otherwise. I know that if I am ever without a home on a holiday, your door is open and I will be welcomed as is - no questions asked, no pressure. That means a lot to me, and I sincerely thank you for it.

So thank you - for being the Jewish heart of our community - I will gladly support our chabad chapter. You are doing a wonderful job.

(name)

Manage your subscription: www.chabadoncampus.org/signup

JGrads was recently featured in the local Jewish newspaper, the St. Louis Jewish Light:

JGrads Helps Connect Students
By Elizabeth Slonim Macanufo, March 21, 2008
While attending Dartmouth College, Michele Nudelman served as Vice President of programming for Hillel and helped create the Chabad on Campus chapter. After graduating from Dartmouth, she entered Washington University to receive a joint law and business school degree.
Nudelman, along with other law school students, attended Washington University Chabad on a weekly basis, but she noticed the lack of programming specifically for graduate students. Taking initiative to remedy the situation, she and Rabbi Hershey Novack, who directs Washington University's Chabad on Campus, formed JGrads.
Now in its third year, the organization spread throughout graduate school campuses in St. Louis and offers graduate students and their young-adult peers specific Jewish programming distinct from those of undergraduate students. According to their mission, JGrads aims to successfully meet this need by providing social, educational, and spiritual opportunities to develop a sense of community. Read more…

After a self-congratulatory pat-on-the-back, it’s time to highlight some upcoming programs:

Fall Planning Meeting
Get ready for 2008-2009!
