George Saunders is so good at honing in on the insecurity, resentment, and powerlessness that crowd our thoughts and the shame and guilt that follow. Also, the short story on the guy who sees a self help guru is so funny. If you hear me say "stop crapping in my oatmeal" you should be wary.

Essential reading for people in comedy. My take away is that all the women profiled in this book have these unifying traits: hardworking, very funny, talented, and attractive. I hope I at least have two out of four :(

I am all for high brow, literary zombie novels as long as they have some good zombie chase scenes and this definitely had satisfying ones. I could've done without the passages full of ennui and existentialism and big SAT words. I don't want to see the word "abeyance" in a zombie novel. Other than that, fun!
